  1. Carlos Lee is not a star. Period.
  2. You have no idea what you're talking about. You want us to raise payroll and that's about the only way we could do it right now. Spare me that bull crap about not responding. Its a pathetic cop out.
  3. The Marlins won the World Series in 2003 with a $63M payroll, which is in the range we are now. If you'd like us to trade Rickie/Prince/Hardy/Hall for some Craig Counsell like vets to raise our payroll, fine we could try that, but we wouldn't win any games. That Jose Hernandez sure worked out for us. Thats what happens when you spend money for the sake of spending money.
  4. I totally agree that Jenkins is really frustrating me right now but I still don't agree that we should trade him. The situation with him now is so incredibly similar to last year its not even funny. The first few months last year he was downright awful at the plate and "everyone" here was begging Doug to trade him. Jenks then proceeded to bust out of his slump and carried the Crew during the rest of the season as Carlos slumped. Also, if we're going to trade Jenkins now would be the worst time to do it. We should at least wait until he's warmed up at the plate to maximize his value. Still, I dont' think its wise to give up on a guy who's signed to a reasonable contract and has a history of starting slow. I saw this situation play out last year and figure this season will likey be the same.
  5. Apparently my strategy of turning the game off after the 4th and seeing if they would come back failed. Oh well.....I see I didn't miss anything.
  6. He got Kolb back for middle relief and his primary long relief guy Helling is injured.
  7. Impressive. Winkelsas......You Suck! Six runs on two hits. Thats your Brewers pitching staff for ya.
  8. Are you kidding me...5 walks already this inning. Thats your Milwaukee Brewers though, they can give up leads as quick as they build them.
  9. Huge K there! Now if he gives up a HR to this guy, I think I'd have to puke up my dinner. http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f88/JoeH33/Eckstein.jpg
  10. 12-14 pitches for balls this inning....
  11. Four pitch leadoff walks followed by a wild pitch are always cool.... C'mon Jorge we can't afford to let these guys come back.
  12. This is fun... I think the guys on the cardsclubhouse boards are feeling just about the same way we did last week. I've gotta say it feels a lot better to be on this side of that spectrum. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif edit: oh hey and as I type this we score again!
  13. Brewers baseball is so much more enjoyable when you're up 4-0 in the second inning.
  14. Hopefully you're right. I've always been a big Jorge fan as well, just not very vocal since his starts left alot to be desired. Even when he gave up those 6 or so runs in his start vs. Pittsburgh I thought he looked pretty good, but just got sorta unlucky.
  15. He's not tight with Moises Alou is he?
  16. Looks like Jorge is bringing the filth tonight.
  17. Alright Carlos! An early lead is always nice, especially with Jorge on the mound.
  18. ...and Billy just keeps on hitting.
  19. Its nice to see Ned finally move Jenkins down in the lineup. This move is eerily similar to last year when Jenkins was going through that terrible slump and Ned finally moved him to the 7 spot. Jenkins then proceeded to heat up and was a force in our lineup the rest of the year. Hopefully we'll see more of the same this time.
  20. St. Louis Cardinals Mark Mulder - (5-4, 4.71) http://www.pe.com/imagesdaily/2005/10-07/padres_cardinals12_216.jpg Mulder's Splits vs. Milwaukee Mulder finds himself in a slump, having allowed eight runs in each of his past two outings. He urgently needs to practice better damage control. In both of those snowman starts, Mulder has been unable to stop the bleeding, watching innings spiral out of hand. If he can minimize damage when he gets in trouble, he'll be much more successful. (MLB.com) @ Milwaukee Brewers Jorge de la Rosa - (2-2, 7.90) http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/2004/08/14/OzBW4USM.jpg de la Rosa's Splits vs. St. Louis In De La Rosa's second start after being moved into the starting rotation, he fared better than his first outing. In 5 2/3 innings, the lefty was charged with five runs -- three came on Alfonso Soriano's grand slam off reliever Joe Winkelsas -- while striking out three and walking four. De La Rosa broke a finger nail in his first outing at Pittsburgh, but said it wasn't a big problem on Sunday and should be fine for the next time he pitches. 21. Sounds like I should have listened to this whole game. I just figured going into the ninth that Hoffman wasn't going to blow it.
  22. Seriously man, don't be ridiculous. Sure you may not like Barry and thats fine, but if you actually think any of those guys, with the exception of maybe Pujols and ARod, are better than Barry you have to be nuts. There's absolutely no comparison between Bonds and the rest of those guys.
