  1. I miss April/May Damian Miller.
  2. Alright! Three sac fly's already. We are now officially an effective small ball team.
  3. What the heck Jenks, a BB does nothing to help either side of the arguement. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. Lol......this is perfect. We're in the middle of a Jenks with RISP arguement and now we got a man on 1st/2nd w/ no one out, and none other than Mr. Jenkins at the plate. This should be interesting. edit: oooo wild pitch, now two men in scoring position.
  5. Batting w/ RISP Jenkins - 288/.355/.500 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Lee - .290/.422 /.597 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp They've both done quite well with RISP. Lee has obviously been better, but Jenkins hasn't been nearly as bad as I'm sure you hoped.
  6. I don't think there's any reason to have a guy who's slumping batting in a big RBI slot though. If you have guys like Rickie/Brady/Cirillo/Hall who all do a decent job of getting on base in the 1/2 spot, you want someone who's seeing the ball well so that you have a better shot at getting those guys in.
  7. I'll agree with you there, I don't think he needs to be benched/DFA'd etc. as some are saying, but it definately wouldn't hurt to move him down to the 6th-7th spot to work out of this slump.
  8. That was big from Brady there, gotta get that SF/RBI before the pitchers spot comes up. On another note, I really like Brady in the 8 hole. He does a really good job of getting on base which is a great benefit batting 8th as it gets the pitchers out of the way for the next inning.
  9. I don't think anyone in their right mind would compare the two right now. But you could have said the same thing post ASB last season. Thats how much better Jenks was than Carlos.
  10. Just a question.... Does reaching on an error raise your OBP or does it just count as if you made an out.
  11. And were tied, if only Carlos could have done that the first time.
  12. Do I need to say how bad CLee sucks? I don't think so. After Jenkins got a big BB in the first making it a 1st and 2nd with 1 out situation, that loser Carlos hit into a double play. But heck, he's only costing us $53159038015 per double play this year.
  13. I'm just hoping this isn't one of those 1-12 with RISP nights. edit: now 4 straight K's from Harang.
  14. I have a bad feeling about this AB, I just got this sinking feeling he's going to hit one about 600ft.
  15. This has all the makings of a very frustrating game. At least we've made Harang throw 51 pitches through two innings........small victories.
  16. I like 0-2 basehits........when we get them.
  17. Gotta like what we've seen from ZJack so far.
  18. I totally agree, I've always wondered what happened to Carlos that made his ave. drop from a consistant ~.300 hitter to someone that hits in the .270 range. I've got to think he's trying to become more of a home run hitter while sacrificing his BA. The bad thing about that, though, is that his HR totals have stayed the same while his BA has dropped ~30 points.
  19. Guh, why did Carlos have to GIDP. Jenks wouldn't have done that, he at least would have let Prince get a shot to knock Rickie in. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I don't think theres that much of an anti-Carlos crowd here. Its mostly just people who take exception to others saying Jenkins is a piece of garbage and Carlos should get a huge contract extension.
  20. I'm just bumping this thread since I needed a good laugh and didn't want the thread to die.
  21. I don't think Jenkins needs to sit, just move him down in the order so that he can work out of his slump where it won't hurt our offense as much.
  22. Ned putting Jenkins in the three hole is getting ridiculous in my opinion. I'm confident that Jenkins will turn it around, but can't he get it going at the bottom of the order. Torre put Giambi at the bottom of the order a few years ago when he was going through a slump similar to Jenkins, why can't Ned do the same? I don't konw if its some kind of feeling of loyalty towards Jenks or what, it just doesn't make any sense to me. I would think if anything moving Jenks down in the order may motivate him to concentrate even more at the plate and perhaps get this thing turned around. Right now it just seems Ned is being stubborn, wanting to prove to everyone that Jenks is a #3 hitter. I believe Jenks can be a decent #3 hitter, but putting him in that spot during a slump is just dumb. Move him down to the seventh or eighth spot. Its a no brainer.
  23. Milwaukee Brewers Zach Jackson - (0-0, 2.45 ERA) http://media.collegepublisher.com/media/paper657/stills/76rzjz22.jpg This is Jackson's First start vs. Cincinnati Jackson scattered 10 hits in his first Major League start and surrendered four runs, just two of them earned, in a start that finally gave the Brewers some hope about the back end of their rotation. Before Jackson's quality start against the Padres, the Brewers had used three others in place of injured starters Ben Sheets and Tomo Ohka with no success. (MLB.com) @ Cincinnati Reds Aaron Harang - (7-4, 3.72 ERA) http://www.bestsportsphotos.com/images/baseball/HARANG-AARON-CNR-1.JPG Harang's Splits vs. Milwaukee Harang pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs on eight hits with one walk and striking out three, in the Reds' 7-4 win at St. Louis on Wednesday. The right-hander was cruising until he hit a wall with two outs in the bottom of the sixth. St. Louis scratched out five straight hits and scored three runs to chase him out of the game. 24. Why would you trade a guy when his value is at his lowest? It just doesn't make much sense. Also, do you Jenkins bashers remember last season at all? Last year Jenks was doing the same thing and eveyone was asking him to be traded. Jenkins then turned it around and carried this team the second half of the season. All the Jenkins haters then stated how wrong they were for doubting him and admited how valuable he was to this team. We never would have finished .500 last year w/o him. Now this season pretty much the same thing is happening, just Jenkins isn't struggling as bad. (Hey we wouldn't have won yesterday w/o his RBI) I'd be willing to bet that many of the people calling for him to be DFA'd/traded were the same people who were calling for his head last year. That crow must really taste good to some of you guys, I know I ate some last year and learned my lesson. I think some others here should too. Just for good measure I'm going to do a little stat comparison. Should both these guys be DFA'd? Jim Edmonds = .245/.345/.393 6HR/33RBI Geoff Jenkins = .254/.321/.403 7HR/37RBI (spelling)
  25. These Cards sure seem to have our number, Pujols or no Pujols.
