  1. Good win today. It was especially important that we didn't have to use the bullpen at all tonight, as we all know how overworked those guys are. Bush's complete game was even more important since we have Zack Jack starting tomorrow and who knows how that will go. I have a feeling Jackson will be able to go a solid 5-6 innings tomorrow but you never know. Here's hoping.
  2. Carlos doesn't make 'em look pretty, but he's already got a couple HR robbing catches this season.

  4. Wouldn't their pick for losing Damon be in the Supplemental Round though?
  5. Something must be going on with Bard for him to be falling this far. Maybe a slight injury issue or signability.
  6. Why do the Red Sox have two first round picks?
  7. Carlos Zombrano has a no-no going through 7 innings. FYI
  8. There's a pitcher from my home town of Lake Mills, Jason Hooper, who I was wondering if you had heard of. From what I've heard he's supposed to be a ~top 10 Wisconsin pitching prospect. Is he major league material and where will he be drafted. ;
  9. Lol, looks like Cirillo is a decent SS.
  10. It would really make me feel good if Rickie went yard here. edit: A run scoring double play wasn't exactly what I was looking for
  11. Nice Cappy, that'll work. I think we may actually win tonight; the breaks finally seem to be going our way.
  12. I found this interesting, not that I necessarily agree with all of his picks, but mock drafts are always interesting. He has us taking Daniel Bard (RHP) from North Carolina with our first round pick. Mock Draft
  13. Brewmann04 I'm not trying to get in a big arguement with you about this team, I'm just frustrated w/ people in general who are all of a sudden claiming this team is terrible. At the beginning of the season you'd see posts all over claiming we were a ~90 win team, and now people are claiming this team is at best a .500 team. It just annoys me when people keep going overboard when the going gets tough. Its a long season, and while I still don't think we'll make the playoffs (something I never believed would happen this year) I still think we'll be a 83-86 win team.
  14. Apparently you don't get the point I was trying to make. All of those teams were expected to be better than us this season/contend for the playoffs and I don't see people counting the A's and Angels out yet. Please stop trying to make it seem as the world is about to end and this team is doomed for another 90 loss season. I'd be willing to be a lot of money that if we sweep the Nats, you'll be back here singing the Brewers praises on Monday.
  15. Um...Turnbow blew this game, hence the blown save. To try to blame Yost for having Turnbow pitch to Castillo etc. is just stupid. Place the blame where it belongs, on Turnbow. These kind of things will happen, sure its frustrating to get swept in a four game series, but you just have to take it in stride, remember its only the first of June and hope for a few series wins. If that happens we'll be right back where we want to be.
  16. Before everyone jumps off a ledge, just remember we have a better record than the.... Angels Athletics Cubs Twins and are tied in the win column with Cleveland and tied in the loss column with Houston.
  17. Except all of Sheets' secondary stats are excellent as well....so you're completely wrong. Turnbow's situation is absolutely nothing like Sheets'. Nice try though.
  18. This team is just too much......when it gets this pathetic you just have to laugh almost.
  19. Who thinks Castillo hits a walkoff here...
  20. Can Bush still get the W today if we pull this one out? It seems like there's always been some grey area as to this when a team scores the go ahead run the inning after a picher is pulled.
  21. I'm guessing he hit into a fielder's choice.
  22. Milwaukee Pittsburgh --------- ---------- Pos Player HR RBI AVG. 23. OPS+ is another stat that I see thrown around occasionally at this site. If I recall correctly, I believe it is a stat that uses 100 as the league average, so if you have an OPS+ of say 125 you're having a good year. My question is, how do you calculate this stat and how exactly do you use it? Is it more valuable of a stat than OPS?
  24. If we don't win tomorrow the season is over. PERIOD. Doug Melvin obviously is a terrible GM since he hasn't been able to get us any good pitchers.I mean he is the idoit that gave that injury prone and very overrated pitcher Ben Sheets a multi-year deal, he had a bad history of signings in Texas and is doing the same here. We need to just get rid of that chump. Also Rickie Weeks is a complete disaster in the field and I've finally had enough of him. He's proven to me that he is not major league material defensively and we all know defense wins championships. We need to just trade him for some pitching prospects and finally be rid of that head case, he obviously just doesn't care enough about winning to learn how to play defense. In addition, I think we also need to fire Ned Yost. The team obviously isn't listening to him anymore and has quit on him. We need a real manager, a firery one like Pinella or Ozzie Guillen who has a winning attitude, someone who really has that "eye of the tiger." This team just doesn't have enough passion to win; we need a manager who isn't afraid to call out his players in public when they don't perform, someone who will hold them responsible when they're not performing. Ned just isn't that guy. Don't even get me started on Geoff Jenkins, that guy is not a legitmate major league RF anymore. He's been awful on defense this year and does nothing but strike out. We need to dump his contract and use that money to re-sign Carlos. Carlos has proved that he is, by far, the more consistant player who doesn't go into horrible slumps like Jenkins. He's the kind of guy you can build your team around and we need him to stay. Finally the pitching staff. What a complete bunch of chumps! Besides Cappy we have no one who would be on the roster of a playoff team. Does anyone here really think that a team like the Yankees or Red Sox would ever field a starting pitcher like Doug Davis? Davis has never been anything more than a career .500 pitcher and just doesn't have what it takes to get those big wins. The acqusition of Dave Bush has been a complete disaster. If Melvin wasn't such an idoit he would have traded for Arroyo who has already proven that he is a legitimate staff ace, a real winner. Wouldn't that be nice right now??? I'm just so disappointed in Melvin and really think its time to do an overhaul in the front office. We don't want to be a mediocre team like Texas who Melvin ran into the ground. I hold Doug completely responsible for not giving us a competitive pitching rotation, Dana Eveland and JDLR, c'mon those guys wouldn't be on a roster of any other major league roster, and the bullpen he's assembled just sucks. I hate to say it but its just terrible. Mevlin has over stayed his welcome and its time to go...... ....Oh wait, its only May, our record is at .500, if we win the next two games we just had a .500 road trip, and we've lost our 1, 4, and 6 pitchers.
