  1. Today is a nice respite with some variety on MLB.TV. For the last week every half inning had consisted of: Capital One, where they pretend kids are interested in their "Bank Guy" on a career day and don't care about Derek Jeter or an astronaut. Gatorade, where they try to convince us salted sugar water with artificial coloring is an innovative, healthy drink.
  2. As a run scoring strategy, I prefer hitting one ball out of the park over hoping to hit three singles in an inning.
  3. After collapsing to the point where he was non-tendered by the KBO team he pitched for last year, Eric Lauer is also back in MLB with the Jays and pitching effectively.
  4. Moving Turang mid-season should be a non-starter, especially after the arm issues in spring training. Seigler is intriguing due to his versatility. If they ever bite the bullet and put Contreras on the IL he could slide in as the backup catcher as well. That doesn't solve for SS, but there just isn't a good 2025 option in the organization.
  5. Getting the counts seems to be beyond the abilities of AI, but I bet the leaderboard of "getting his team's first hit of the game" consists of a bunch of leadoff hitters and Sal Frelick.
  6. If Patrick is going to pitch like this I'm fine with Woodruff being a Timber Rattler.
  7. It was not long ago that Freddy was our only starting pitcher and there were some real gas cans in the pen. This is a better problem to have.
  8. It brings the fun factor up for me anytime we're officially the hottest team in baseball.
  9. Some hard contact that inning, but I could only think that it's pleasant seeing a pitcher near the end of the line not walking anyone up 15.
  10. Giving up 11 earned runs and capping it off with a double to Daz Cameron is among the worst starts I've seen in some time.
  11. Yes, especially given Perkins will probably need the full month once he starts a rehab assignment so there are ABs to be had.
  12. I'll take an 8 foot RBI over another failure to bring a runner home from third with no outs.
  13. .500 for the first time since 19-19 on May 7. Now for a real streak!
