  1. Williams really needs to nail this down, or my confidence in him is irrevocably shot.
  2. Here we go again. Don’t blow this, bullpen.
  3. What this team needs is Yelich to be the player he is being paid to be. Merely getting on base is not enough. That’s his salvaging some positive value. It’s spin control to say “he gets on base really well.” He’s not getting $26 million to get on. He’s getting paid that to be an elite offensive player that hits for power and drives in runs. He’s gone from a .631 SLG over two seasons to a .374 the last two. That’s a nearly 300 point drop. His ISO has dropped from 304 to 123. That’s about 40% of what he used to do.
  4. Woodruff and Peralta pitched 12 innings of shutout ball, and neither got a decision. Our starters deserve so much better.
  5. 33-41 in our last 74 isn’t exactly entertaining baseball.
  6. I am in serious need of a hug. This team just continues to find ways to crush my soul. Wait for the softball questions from the Milwaukee sports press, and generic responses from CC.
  7. Shoot me. Just shoot me. And Devin Williams can suck a fart. Freaking mental midget.
  8. The most Brewers thing ever would be down by 1 in the bottom of the 10th with the bases loaded and 1 out, and stranding all three runners.
  9. But he’s such a prince of a guy (his ex-wife just left the chat). I’m about to the point of vomiting reading all the fawning over the great Albert Pujols. He has a few (very suspicious) weeks where he’s tearing the cover off the ball after being a dumpster fire for the last half decade. But he’s “doing it purely for the love of the game.” He’s “not chasing 700 on purpose. If it happens, it happens.” Right. His last five years of being paid boatloads of cash to OPS .700 has been all about his love of the game. ?
  10. Because moving him when he’s struggled in the past has brought about positive results, and he’s been a black hole at the top of the lineup for more than a week. It might be something as simple as giving him a day or two off to rest the back.
  11. Boy, getting this third out without giving up another run would be huge right now.
  12. So, one hit magically erases the reality that Yelich has been a hot mess of late?
  13. When the offense has scored 2.5 RPG over the last nine games, I don’t think waiting much longer to shake things up is prudent.
  14. That’s a good question. I don’t believe that run support is a sortable option in the Baseball Reference database. The answer has to be put there somewhere. At first glance, Burnes is actually getting good support, at 4.50 runs/9 IP. That’s actually above the National League average of average of 4.41 runs scored per 9 innings. The problem is that a few big games are skewing the results. In one start, Milwaukee scored 19. In two others, 10. If he’s getting 4.50 per 9 IP, and he’s thrown 143 innings, that comes out to 15.889 9 inning games, and 71.5 runs scored by our offense. Round that to 72. Take away 29 runs and 27 innings, that leaves 43 runs in 116 innings. If my math is correct, that means in his other 20 starts, he’s gotten 3.33 runs per complete game from our offense.
  15. Why does Counsell continue batting Yelich in the lead off spot? He’s now 1 for his last 33 at the plate over the last nine games (an .032 AVG), and his on base sucks. 1 hit and 6 walks is a .184 OBP. Our offense is struggling, and his inability to do, well anything, is a major reason why.
  16. Well, that will send me to bed a happy camper. For one night, all is right in my world. David beat Goliath. Good night everybody.
