  1. It would be pretty big if we can hold this lead and win the game. No matter what we do against Kershaw tomorrow, we'd win the three game series. It would especially be big considering how successful Greinke has been at Miller Park in his career.
  2. I think Braun's seeing the ball pretty well right now. I think he's just gotten unlucky by hitting the ball right at people. Brian just said on the broadcast that's what happened on the last road trip.
  3. Good evening, everybody. Some real encouraging things this inning.
  4. It's too easy to nitpick. I do it, too, occasionally. But we are in first place, and have been. And we just picked up a game lead on the Cardinals. All things considered, tonight was a good night!
  5. We have three hits. We're not doing a lot offensively to help out pitchers, either. At least not thus far. Positive thinking. The Brewer bats will wake up. And Brauny will be the hero tonight.
  6. http://imageshack.com/a/img905/7462/fj6l7U.png Doug DeCinces hit 237 home runs in his 15 year career. On this date in 1982, California Angels third baseman Doug DeCinces hit three home runs to help his team beat the Seattle Mariners 9-5. His three home run game came less than a week after hitting 3 home runs against the Minnesota Twins. DeCinces wound up third in the American League MVP vote, behind Eddie Murray and winner Robin Yount. Yount was nearly a unanimous winner, collecting 27 of 28 first place votes. Reggie Jackson, DeCinces' teammate, collected the other first place vote.
  7. Braun with 7 doubles in his last seven games. Lucroy better be careful, or Brauny's going to catch him by season's end. Ok, maybe not, but it's good to see him swinging the bat and hitting the ball hard. The average will come. BTW, good evening everybody.
  8. Braun's missed 23 games, and he's still 7th in the NL in RBIs. So he's been productive, very productive, in fact. We're just used to super human play from Braun at the plate. I think that by the end of the year, he'll be back over .300, and over 20 home runs. That and 100 RBI, or close to it, is good enough for me considering the injuries that he's been dealing with.
  9. I'm so glad that our bullpen imploded. Imagine if they had held after Marco?
  10. I was just about to post that RRR is trying to use every relief pitcher and every pinch hitter we have tonight. And here comes Tweek. http://www.blackberrybeads.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/tweek3.jpg
  11. The next four starting pitchers we face: Jake Peavy 1-11, 4.73 ERA, 1.38 WHIP 109 K in 137 IP Josh Beckett 6-6, 2.88 ERA 1.17 WHIP. 107 K in 115 2/3 IP Zack Greinke 12-7, 2.71 ERA 1.14 WHIP, 158 K in 146 1/3 IP Clayton Kershaw 13-2, 1.82 ERA 0.85 WHIP, 157 K in 128 1/3 IP I think we really need to beat the guy that's 1-11, because the next three opposing starting pitchers are pretty good.
  12. Oof, I haven't looked at the upcoming schedule in a while. We have the Dodgers next. Are we getting both Kershaw and Greinke? We really need to win the game tomorrow. Every game is important, obviously, but I'm the game tomorrow is almost a must win.
  13. Matt Kemp suddenly on fire for the Dodgers, now with 6 home runs in his last ten games. Yet he has a negative 0.5 WAR for the season.
  14. Hey Gibson, if you want to go home, you could call some strikes, you know?
  15. Did the play by play just cut out for anybody else? Instead of hearing the tv guys, I'm hearing music instead. WTH? NM, reloaded the channel, and it's back to Bill & Brian. That was weird.
  16. http://imageshack.com/a/img901/885/ucFOZ8.png On this date 42 years ago, Hank was hammerin' On this day in 1972, Hank Aaron connected for career home runs #s 660 and 661, the second of which helped the Braves beat the Reds in 10 innings. We could use some Hank-like bombs right now.
  17. Estrada has looked really good thus far. /knock on wood Now if we could only get some runs.
  18. All damn night. Ugh. This is karma for last nights walk off challenge Some nights are just like that. It's great when you're getting those extra few feet, and it's maddening when you're falling just short.
  19. They're lying and saying he's injured, just like they're doing to Garza. What is your problem, coolcool? This isn't the first time you've had a snide response to one of my posts. Either answer the question nicely, or keep your mouth shut, because I really don't need it.
  20. My kingdom for some clutch hitting with runners on. Come on guys, let's touch home plate a few more times tonight, please.
