  1. Brauny after going 8 for 17 is 0-12 with 6 Ks. He's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I don't get it. Hell, I don't get our entire offense.
  2. As Brewer fans, we'd best get used to it. The Cubs are going to be kicking our butts on an annual basis very soon, especially if we have Ron Roenicke at the helm. They have Rizzo, and Soler, and Kris Bryant on the way, and Javier Baez, and Addison Russell on the way, and Albert Almora coming. And they're going to feast off of our pitching.
  3. Wait, you mean Ron pulled Wily before his next at bat? Because I kinda figured he's have Wily bat, and then put in a substitute pitcher.
  4. Since I have Felix Hernandez and Wily Peralta both starting on my fantasy team, no, it doesn't make me feel any better, lol.
  5. Why the hell after Peralta gave up 5 runs in the first two innings did RRR send him back out for a third? So we could lower the small chance that we could come back even more? Peralta has had two terrible outings in a row. But just keep sending him out there, Ron.
  6. Ya, the nerve issue makes it so Ryan can't tell how tightly he's gripping the bat, and that causes swelling and blisters. That's got to be a real pain to try and play through.
  7. I made the mistake of singing Ryan's praises after game one, even going so far as to predict that he would have a stellar final 30 games. Then he went 0 for 8 with 4 Ks in the final two games. As one that believes in reverse psychology, let me say that Ryan is going to suck the remainder of the season. He's going to show absolutely no power, he'll look like the second coming of Fred Merkle on the basepaths, and he'll drop balls left and right in right field. Ryan Braun will not play well, the Brewers won't make the playoffs, and I won't be happy come October.
  8. I'm just happy seeing some intensity from him. I think that was the most intensity anybody in a Brewers uniform showed tonight.
  9. I wouldn't exactly call Gallardo's game a gem but you hope when your starter gives up 0 runs in 6 innings that the rest of the team would be able to play well enough to get a win. Well, not a gem, but a good start. Even if it was an ugly 6 innings at times, even with the 3 walks, he shut out a Major League team for 6 innings, and deserved a win. The mighty Brewer offense scored just 3 runs in the final 2 games after scoring 10 in the first.
  10. Gomez, Braun and Ramirez go a combined 0-13 with 7 strikeouts. Completely wasted a gem by Gallardo.
  11. With the Cardinals losing their series, and us playing the Padres in a three game series, you'd think we would make up a game on them, wouldn't you? We take 5 of 6 from the Dodgers, but we lose our series with the Cubs, and we're hanging on for dear life against the Padres. This team is very difficult to get a feeling for.
  12. Let's all think "these are the Padres. They will screw this up." Maybe it helps, I don't know.
  13. I'm lucky I don't have a cap - yet. Can't imagine that'll work out too well for me with MLB.tv and all the internet TV (HBO Go, Netflix, Hulu, Youtube) and music (Spotify and Pandora) I stream. I imagine I'll go over in a week. With as much as we pay Verizon ($290 a month), I don't want to get any messages from them about transfer limits. If I go over, suck it up. You're getting enough from me. Oh joy, first and second with no outs.
  14. Well, we're just going to have to disagree then. I am one of the most understanding people you will ever meet, and there was absolutely nothing malicious, or unfeeling in my comment. If you want to think that I'm this cold, and insensitive *****, so be it. But it doesn't change the fact that what I said is true. Jean Segura needs to pull himself together, and get his head in the game, or he needs to not be playing. If he is so beset with grief that he cannot do his job, then he needs to tell somebody that he can't play the game anymore. If he is at the plate, or in the field, thinking about his little boy, then he doesn't need to be playing baseball. He needs people around him that can help him. Or, maybe he just needs more time to himself. People grieve in different ways. Maybe he never gets over this, and maybe he can't play at the same high level he did in the first half last year. Nobody would blame him if he had to hang it up. There are some things that you just can't ever fully recover from. But he needs to be honest with himself, and his teammates. Either he is able to do the job he is being paid for, or he can't, because there are a lot of people that have made a lot of sacrifices so this team could get to where it is now. This is a critical part of the season, and everybody needs to be focused on playing their very best baseball.
  15. I think before the season started, I'd said something about how our bullpen was going to be much improved. Ya...no. Now 3-1. Great let's walk a guy now.
  16. Last night you had Quackenbush and Gorzelanny on the mound at the same time. Damn, nice job, K Rod.
  17. There's nothing cold about it. I'm not asking him to stop grieving for his child. I understand that he will probably never get over what has been a horrific and gut wrenching ordeal. But when he is at the ballpark, his head needs to be in the game so he can do his job. If he cannot, then he needs to go up to his manager, and tell him he needs more time. If this loss, as terrible as it is, is still affecting him to the point where he cannot concentrate at all, then he needs to be proactive. Nobody else can read what's on his mind. Only Jean can. But he is an adult, and he needs to be honest with himself, and the team that depends on him.
  18. Jean Segura needs to show us that he can be mentally strong. All the ability in the world won't make him a great baseball player if he cannot have the mental fortitude that is needed to be successful. I feel absolutely terrible for him. Losing a child is about the worst thing that a parent could ever experience. And I certainly understand that he needed some time away from the team when his son died. But at some point he needs to step up his play. When he is at the stadium, he is a professional baseball player with 24 other men counting on him to be in the game mentally, and productive. If he can't be mentally strong, then the Brewers need to find somebody that can be. Because he has not hit, his defense is suffering, and he's been terrible as a base stealer. He is bringing nothing positive to a team that is contending for a pennant.
  19. Jesus, here we go again. Keystone cops in the field. Shoot me.
  20. Come on Braun, do something with the bat. Man, just when I think he's going to break out of it...frustrating.
