  1. He's going to hit +.300, 30+ hrs and drive in 120+ isn't he
  2. Spring has me excited for keston!!!! I brewlieve!!!!
  3. No way turang makes opening day. that should be in blue, right? Hiura makes the team in place of Reyes, and is the first to swap down to Nashville with reyes if his bat does not stay hot. It's that simple.
  4. I am all aboard the Kestdaddy train! Bring on the dingers!
  5. Spring training dinger champion signing right here
  6. I dunno, maybe he shouldn't have been dragging it out? Dude had offers he could have accepted, the team was tired of waiting and didn't want miss on his replacement. This is just annoying and I don't feel bad for freeman at all.
  7. He's already got a world series so he's already crossed that orf
  8. Just call me Nostradamus
  9. I read Colorado was looking at Bryant, not sure if thats true or not
  10. Rizzo back to NYY for 2 years, $32 mil with an opt out after first year. So, freemans options are shrinking... Without that contract ?
  11. Man, I loved cutch, easily a fan favorite and just a fun guy to watch. Pumped I'll get to root for him on my team!
  12. An athletic reporter with 85 followers on Twitter and no tweets since last June? I don't know what gave it away ?
  13. No way
  14. 1.) Where are you from? Erie, PA but have lived in Pittsburgh, PA the last 16 years 2.) Age Range? early 40s 3.) How long have you been frequenting BrewersFan.net? 2011! 4.) Highest level of baseball/softball played? 9th grade, I found it was not my sport to play when, even when my dad was the umpire, I managed to walk an entire team in order. 5.) Favorite Brewers Player, and favorite underappreciated Brewers player, and if you want, favorite current Brewers player? Paul Molitor! My dad (who was from Milwaukee) in the late 80's, some how got Bud Selig's address, and mailed him a baseball asking if he could get Paul to sign it for me, and then I got it for christmas that year. I was *obsessed* with the Brewers and Molitor, so it was like, a holy grail moment for me. The ball sits on my desk to this day. 6.) Favorite Twitter follows? n/a 7.) Other interests outside of baseball. Music! 8.) Favorite part of BrewerFan.net... the moderation and actual well thought out conversations. Also, the minor league coverage is incredible here. I do not go to any other 'blog' sites because I can literally get it all here.
  15. I love this look! One feature for the future, dark mode theme, plz.
  16. Finish where you started, nelson!
  17. Oh man that roster juggling is going to be interesting for clubs like Milwaukee
  18. I'm excited! There's a website for this forum?! I like how the forum is civil, for the most part. I'm going to give out so many likes in the new world.
  19. Couple Heyman tweets Players made an offer late today: They’d spend the season working on a world draft and if it didn’t work out, qualifying offers/free agent comp would be re-installed at year’s end. This was Manfred’s idea Tuesday night but was rejected because it came after MLB’s 6 pm deadline. With most recent.. Sources: Indeed, the sides will talk tonight about the international draft proposal iniated by Manfred Tuesday night and put forth by the union just after the 6 pm deadline. Hope exists!
  20. quote="owbc"] Because it benefits the owners financially and they are using it as a bargaining position to get what they want. You also have former international signees who want the system to stay because it brings a lot of money to their country and communities regardless of how well those players perform. These 16 year olds get their bonus straight up which means more people benefit within their country. A draft will suppress that influx of cash and put a cap on earnings for the vast majority since it will have hard slotted bonuses. The top prospects will still get their millions, but those players towards the middle and bottom will be phased out of their life changing money comparatively. A 16 year old with a $100k bonus has changed the trajectory of their whole family in the Dominican Republic, et al whereas MLB teams throw that around pretty easily to hopefully hit on a gem. A draft will limit that for the vast majority of players. I guess I don't know where the draft slots would fall, but only seven of the players the Brewers signed in the most recent signing period got $100,000 or more. Most got $10,000. In contrast, only one of the draft picks the Brewers signed out of I believe 14 or 15 got less than $100,000. At the end of the day it's a complicated and significant change, not something you want to be considering at the last second. Plus there were strong objections (or at least strong concerns) from many Dominican players. It's a shame because it looked like we might have been able to get a deal prior to this becoming the big point of contention. I get it, these guys sign as teenagers. Could they draft teenagers? They also lose all freedom to sign with who shows interest in developing from their country/region.
  21. Correct. Plenty of labor unions show up to work without a contract having been renewed. Teacher unions, healthcare unions, food service unions, etc. It has become more common in the last decade or so, and allows members to keep the strike option as a final action. https://www.labornotes.org/2013/02/working-without-contract-strategy-whose-time-has-come
  22. Jeff passan with the best tweet “The concerns of our fans are at the very top of our consideration list.” — Rob Manfred, on the day MLB canceled regular-season games, during a league-initiated lockout
  23. Looks like this is going to possibly get done today!
  24. Sounds like they're getting close, not sure if anyone wants to discuss that...
