My positive thoughts: - There are 154 games left (to make up only 3 games back in the division!) - We have Ryan Braun - A-Ram and Hart will be back - Segura looks great, Aoki looks great - Gallardo & Lohse should be strong, Estrada & Peralta should be average to above average - There are 2 wild card teams these days - Bullpen early struggles will lead to early changes (and hopefully someone will step up)
I know he broke his bat over his knee after striking out with bases loaded. He does this fairly often, though. After he did it, you could hear the crowd roar a bit so I wonder if he did something after that. Maybe he threw something? I'm sure it was nothing too crazy or we would have heard about it by now.
I'd guess the odds would be in favor of latter. With a runner at third, the runner could score on a sac fly, wild pitch, squeeze play, bobbled ground ball, etc. It definitely puts more pressure on the pitcher and fielders.
Yeah, it really wasn't terrible, it was just that double play timing was way off and also Segura also had to stretch for it. But I guess as a runner, all you are thinking about it making sure there is no DP.
Good inning, Yo. I like the new pitch counter on FSW, but it also makes me very anxious. It's like a countdown (countup?) to when our bullpen needs to come in.
I keep hearing people say that Braun threw the collector under the bus. I'm not sure I completely agree with this. Yes, he indicated that some things were concerning about the collector and that he was unsure of what may or may not have happened with his sample. But he also stated that he was not about to falsely accuse someone of something the way that he had been falsely accused. I think this was fair. What what he supposed to say, "I'm 100% sure that nothing happened to my sample"? Maybe part of the reason he isn't saying anything now is because what he said about the collector made him look bad even though he was just questioning what happened. Just more speculation.
Dang, with my post count compared to some of yours, I feel like a AAA'er (maybe even AA or A) called up to help rally the team into the playoffs. This is going to be a tough task and I can feel the pressure but am going to embrace this opportunity.
Sweeping the Padres and Astros at home would not be THAT shocking. Also, the Cards going 2-4 against the Reds and Nats would not be THAT shocking. For both to happen, I guess would be a little shocking but not unheard of. Let's hope things hold up tonight (don't blow this Houston), get a W tomorrow and see what happens.
I am following on espn.com (since my mlb gamecast is slow at work) and it says that Bernadina and Aoki were both out on "batter's interference to the catcher." What happened on these?
