I doubt he signs with an NL team because of the DH in the AL. I'm sure this guy wants some at bats and the AL allows him to do that if he's good enough. Another reason why having separate rules for your leagues is a joke.
That must've felt good for Santana. He's had some really good at bats to start the year, working walks and hitting the ball hard but just hasn't had the luck.
Did I miss something? I flipped over to the Master's for a second, what'd he do? Threw a ball away for an error and extra base. Then took a high school route on a grounder up the middle. Other than that, not much Oh. Well that might be being a little hard on the guy. The play up the middle was a really tough play that he tried to make. Thames should've knocked the ball down and no harm would've been done. I feel that we might be being a bit too picky on Villar because he's an easy target.
And Braun will be able to reject all of them which is why he should've been moved this winter. True. But you just don't know where Ryan might accept a trade to either. Taking an offer, just to take one, might not be the best thing to do.
While this can't continue, that last K was not on him. That ball was at least 3-4 inches off the plate. I'm beating a dead horse here, but I wish they would just turn the damn strike zone over to the machines already. They have the technology for it, but for some reason MLB gets a warm fuzzy from seeing middle aged men subjectively make a judgement call on each and every pitch. That strike 3 from Torres was outside too. There are at least a handful of this crap each and every game. I totally agree with you that the MLB has the technology and the money to do it. Just implementing it in the game is the next step.
Well one would hope that if the Brewers find themselves competing and in the playoffs again that their fans would get off their butts and get to the stadium. That being said, they are just so close together and there are tons of Cubs fans. I guess if this happens, we'll see how much pride Wisconsin people have in the Brewers.
Maybe I'm stubborn, or even a bit stupid, but I just hate this 100 pitch junk. I get it at the younger level but to me it is such a cop out for managers. Go on the feel of the game, what a pitcher is telling you, etc...
Still gotta pull him now, I think. He's at 92 pitches and his spot is due up. I would've waited to see if Bandy got on before pulling him. If he didn't, and just just flew out, I would put up Davies and tried to get another inning out of Davies and saved on the pen.
I've been in the camp to keep him because of what you said above. I also think they need to wait to see how some of these prospects turn out. Broxton for is far from a for sure thing. Brinson looks like he could be a great one but still a little off from him. Santana is in category with Broxton. Phillips has to have a big year in the minors to gain back some traction. Ray and Clark are just too far off to make any assumption that they'll ever be in Milwaukee. Just too many question marks for me to gamble on losing a hitter like Braun.
Davies, as bad as he was to start this one, has settled on in and given the Brewers at least some good innings that keeps them in this one. Let's steal this one away!
