  1. Do you have any numbers to back uo your claim? Looking at inherited runners, he allowed 11 to score during the season which isn't near the worst. For example, Zach Duke & Will Smith allowed 8 each as well and they were considered to be two of our best.
  2. Was Eric Young Jr. a horrible 2B? Because being a switch hitter that could play 2B and LF and get on base at a decent clip would be nice.
  3. Who doesn't listen to offers on all of their players? Lol, I hate reports like this. But, I guess at least gives us hope that we may make a trade for the future! Plus help us now. (getting greedy)
  4. I'm sure any number of teams would take Nelson with open arms. But frankly the Brewers see the progress Peralta's made in 3 seasons and see the same thing in Nelson's immediate future. No way they give him up to replace him with an injury risk. Exactly. Giving up on one of your top prospects who has shown signs of being a very good pitcher, who happens to be under control and very cheap, for a more expensive gamble on someone who was injured screams silliness.
  5. Sooooo the Twins can't flip him for other prospects towards July if they are out of it? Meanwhile they sell a few extra tickets and get a pretty good player for it. Doesn't seem to be so incredibly pointless to me. It could very well work out for them just fine. And who's to say they are done making moves.
  6. If were were getting Paxton out of this, I'd be all for it. Those would be the type of trades we do need to make.
  7. Trading Braun away at his lowest value he's ever been? Sounds like a very poor move for the Milwaukee Brewers. Plus, I want him to be a reason we succeed as an organization and revitalize his own name. People make mistakes.
  8. You don't feel that Lind is an upgrade over Overbay/Reynolds at 1B? Also, injuries occur, sure. But most teams do not have an all star backup to take their starters place. I think having guys like Hector Gomez, Rogers, Jiminez are pretty good backup plans if Aram does get hurt.
  9. This is something I always seem to forget. We do have options at the right hand side of the plate. Jiminez will probably get the first crack at it if he has a pulse coming out of spring training. I do like Rogers bat as well. And we know Halton can hit lefties, but he is horrendous in the OF so he's 1B only to me.
  10. Mariners Still Seeking Right Fielder (http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/12/mariners-still-seeking-right-fielder.html) They believe that Cruz will be their DH. Still in on Kemp, Hunter, & Rios. Man it must be nice to spend, spend, spend. Seems like they are unwilling to part with any of the SP's, which is smart, because it is was harder to buy pitching.
  11. Maybe the Pacific Ocean air will knock a few down...
  12. Where does Kemp play? I guess Davis would be on the move?
  13. I posted this thought in the Sean Rodriguez thread but the only thing for me that holds it back is the fact that he only can play 1B. That really tightens the flexibility of the roster much like having Weeks and Gennett only play 2B. As much as Gaby's bat would be awesome to have against LHP's, I just don't see it as that much of an upgrade considering that would be his only use.
  14. Well there goes the Gomez to SEA deal I wanted to see. Dangit. The Mariners might be a fun team to watch this upcoming season. Or they'll be a bust. Either way, fun times in SEA!
  15. Is the time to buy low on Corey Hart and bring him home? Or are the knees just too far gone to make an impact anymore? He could fill our role as the RH 1B we need and fill in as our 5th OF behind Parra, plus be a pinch hitter/DH. He is a career .290avg/.362obp/.504slg for a .866ops against LHP's. Obviously it would have to be very cheap but I cannot see a bunch of teams knocking on his door throwing big money at him with last year's debacle in SEA.
  16. Either way, what's done, is done and we can't go back and change 2014. What we can hope for is that he is telling the truth and his thumb is healed because when he's healthy, he is one of the best hitters in this game. What a boost this could be.
  17. Well, we can erase this thought. Is Gaby worth a look at the right side of the plate? Career .291avg/.382obp/.863 ops against LHP's. The only issue is that he seems to strictly be a 1B which doesn't help our flexibility with the roster. Similar to having Weeks/Gennett last sweason.
  18. So... What is this supposed trade? Got a little confusing.
  19. Wish I had insider to read it...
  20. I think they were really unsure how it would turn out. Being scarf of the outcome, he didn't want to lose a full season or possibly his career. After struggling so bad last year, I bet he said screw it and said might as well. Because he wasn't the same guy last year. If this truly did work, it's the bigger boost to our lineup we could get.
  21. I do wish Melvin would be just a tad more aggressive.
  22. I'd do it in a heart beat. Toronto screams a team doing moves to try to win now. Gomez can help them do that and not at a bad contract.
  23. Looking at his stats I'm a for it. Is there a big difference between him and let's say a guy like Halton. Why has this guy not been given a chance at the major league level? Also, why isn't he on the 40 man? Usually something to it.
