  1. Now that is an interesting point with Yu and possibly Salazar. Do yu (get it?) deal a pitcher from 40 man if you get both?
  2. I could see a bit of an upgrade on the P prospects we would give up. Not an upgrade on both, but maybe one of them
  3. No one wants to believe the Clevaland beat writer that LHP Sheffiled could be in this deal too?
  4. Cleveland beat writer hoynes was the one who mentioned sheffield
  5. I know rankings are subjective and not all systems equal. But we potentially sound like we got thier 5,6,12 and 22 ranked prospects if sheffiled is the pitcher
  6. the top 30 rankings for clev on mlb
  7. why mckenzie over sheffield? sheffield is rated higher now. higher ceiling?
  8. That's because most sources alot of the time are agents... they want the biggest bang for the buck so they are more likely to leak info to national guys.
  9. With what's left we need to just go with what we have for now unless we catch lightning in a bottle with reamaining 1B left. I wouldn't have signed Hart with the injury he had for that money. (See Grady Sizemore).
  10. These FA arms are getting out of hand for value you are getting. It's a very weak crop after Zack. It's to the point where I think DM is better off making a trade for the vet he wants. I was for a Dempster type until you see what they want and how long they want it for. I hate big money pitcher contracts. rather bet on the position player. I didnt want Hamilton at first. But now maybe he should see if he can get Hamilton for 3 yrs tops and go with the young pitchers. Might be a few more 9-8 games on occasion. You might have to deal Hart for payroll relief, but maybe not by going with the cheaper pitching staff.
  11. Im probably one of the few here that does trust DM still in this situation. Too bad Marcum injury and Krod, Loe, Parra et al... all blew up. Imagine what could have been done in trades or standings.
  12. A friend asked me: Segura/Richards for Zack or Olt/Sardinas/Grimm for Zack/Hart I said toss in Perez - done
  13. Nightengale reporting Rangers "still heavily involved" in Johnson talks.
  14. I think people here greatly undervalue Zack by thinking we have to do 3 players just for Profar. He hasnt proven a thing. The world is littered with AAAA players. Guys who dominate AAA but cant cut it in majors
  15. Dodgers signed Rivera. Rosenthal writes about "what does this mean for Eithier". Some rumblings about LA going after Fielder. How about Eithier and Loney for Marcum or Wolf, Gamel and Hart and ?. Solves 1st base. Upgrades D in OF. Adds a couple LH hitters with decent ave. I'd then sign Barmes, and take a flyer on Sizemore and jettison T Plush ( I think we caught lightning in a bottle and the act may wear thin). Just a thought. All revolves around Prince signing though.
  16. I'm all in for Sizmore. Platoon with Gomez until he proves health and productivity. I would get rid of T Plush. I loved what he did for us, but the act will wear thin and he was our "lightning in a bottle" version of Berkman. If he come back, and i know it's a big "if", he fits more of what RR wants to play. Speed and D. He was a Gold Glover in CF. Granted that was before injuries and those are skewed sometimes, but he would not be a liability out there.
  17. Why does it seem like Bush gets no respect? IF we get Baumgarner and then trade arguably our 2nd best pitcher this year - how are we improving our staff?
  18. Where is this info on Yount coaching right now? I was at an event with Robin where he allowed us free reign to ask questions from about 15 of us. He indicated he loved coaching during the game itself, but he really did not like the off the field stuff at all. I got the feeling he'd be torn about getting back into it ever again. I'd be surprised if he came back. I'd hate to see us get into the old Packer way of picking coaches. Going with former players is not the best. Money might be an exception, because at least the experience is there.
