  1. I’d rather have severino too for the longer period of time. I just don’t think yanks match up enough beyond him
  2. Say we sign garcia. Hader, Cain to Mets for Thor, Nimmo, Smith. Make hard push to sign Donaldson. If you can’t sign Donaldson expand trade to Lowrie
  3. Trade Hader and Cain to Mets for Thor, Smith, Nimmo. Convince Josh Donaldson to come here. This is of course if Garcia signing is done
  4. Not sure why everyone rips on Tom. Just because you don't like what he writes or what you want to hear, doesn't mean he's wrong.
  5. This might be out of left field... If we are saving potentially $40-$50 million with all the moves we are making and potentially making. That would include NOT signing Moose, who I want back. For the sake of argument Urias is 3B, Arcia SS, Keston 2B. Can JD Martinez play 1B? I know he is not a good defender but I could live with that if that if he hits 45+ bombs and 100 + rbis in Miller Park. Boston trying to cut salary. I gotta believe they throw in cash to offset salary. We could always deal him back to AL if we would fall out of contention in next couple years. He more than makes up for the loss of Yaz. Go with a platoon C program with Pina, LH 1B and you could platoon Braunie there and JD in RF. Gamel and and Ray extra OFs. Then you still have money for a couple of good starters. This is a stretch, but fun stuff to talk about. Boy I love hot stove...
  6. I read a Seattle poster a few weeks ago mentioned sending Omar and Seager to us and sea throwing in money for seager. Kyle has really fallen off and owed a lot for 3 more years. I see his line of thinking trying to match our needs positionaly, but I don’t think I’d want 3 yrs of him.
  7. Jeff Passan reports Seattle might move Omar Narvaez. Thoughts? Go...
  8. You have to keep Pina unless blown away and the Nottingham is then your back up. Kratz should be a coach and Vogt even if healthy should go in the tv booth
  9. Id like to sign Moose. Hopefully 1/3 to 1/2 way through season Dubon or Keston is ready. You then have a much better trade chip in Moose or Shaw for a possible deadline deal than any of the other 2B options out there
  10. You'd have to start with Hiura and Burnes to get either Thor or DeGrom and add to it... Probably at least 2 or 3 more
  11. ...probably our most consistent pitcher all year...
  12. with him and thames i go for all the bench clearing brawls we can....
  13. This is what I would do from the standpoint of "going for it" this year. A) Id go for Dozier. Reasonable price I believe. I don't see any real top 2-3 pitching prospect going there. I see a realistic shot at resigning if we wish too. Especially if we have to deal Keston in B below. B) I'd love to take a run at Thor or De Grom. I don't see Mets dealing DeGrom though. I don't see any other possible number 1 pitcher available on the market that makes a difference for us. I guess market could change and some others might become available, 3) In my ideal world in going for it Id make a run at Realmuto also. He might be pricey and getting him and a top ind starter would put a real dent in system. If I would be looking a bit more long term Id open the market up on the pitching targets more to get a more proven commodity vs our prospects.
  14. Hey moderators...you need to update site with auto refresh
  15. i agree steep price to pay, but like a post before said, with all the potential key pieces (Archer, FA pitcher, yelich, Cain) locked up for next 4-5 years, it gives time for some more development and replenishment of system. Amateur scouting staff needs to nail next few drafts for sure.
