time to board up Brian's House for a night. Turnbow throwing meatballs up there. And then Hall and Hart nearly kissed each other trying to catch that one. They're right. Not a lot of love in Philly tonight.
good job by Wiser this game. I don't see Turnbow AND Cordero in tonight's game. But what do I know, I wouldn't have sent Counsell to third on a steal attempt.
well, let's get after that bullpen. Darn base hit would have scored the run anyways! ARGH! Sometimes, this team just frustrates like a wormhole has opened up and the 2004 team takes the places of the current team.
jiminy beeswaxiatude! Thank goodness that was a foul ball by weeks. Running out of innings again! I like the agressiveness, but nobody out and top of the order?
well, I haven't seen a great angle but the way Bush fell over after he made the play at first made it look like the equivalent of hitting your funny bone (his funny knee, if you will). Kinda like he lost feeling and sensation for a moment and then came back. He didn't look like he was laboring with it when he began pitching again. I'll guess he's out there for the 4th.
wasn't Dessens ERA just a few days ago in the 3.00's? Shame. Wouldn't be surprised to see him gone by Friday. eh, about today's game. Like I said yesterday, I wanted at least one win in the series and I got it. Let's get the Phil's, who I don't believe is as tough as the Mets (get to that Phillie bullpen, Crew!) See ya all tomorrow.
nice win. Now I've gotta hope that FOX Saturday Baseball shows some highlights. Or else I have to wait for BBTN later on. I told myself yesterday when I left work that I would be satisfied if I could add at least one victory to my standings board in my classroom. I got my wish. Now I want to be greedy and add two wins.
I'll still say 1 run is better than none. Hopefully, Pelfrey will continue to struggle against our "real" hitters (i.e. non-Counsell, Graffinino, pitcher guys)
"Sheets - 8.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 8 K, 0 BB Cordero - 1.0 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 K, 0 BB, BS, W" how is this possible? or are you neglecting to put the 10th inning on here?
meh, a good comeback but I'm not mad about tonight. One bad inning did us in. Otherwise, we pretty much won the game. I'm confident that we'll be fine the rest of the series. It was one game. Talk to me about being worried next week.
Grienke is only like 22 or 23, isn't he? I would think the Royals would hold onto him as long as possible, considering his ceiling has been pretty high. Putting him in the pen? Don't know what the Royals are thinking. He's young, he was out almost all last season with "issues". Gotta let him pitch, I say. It's the Royals, for crying out loud.
since Gametracker isn't working for me, I'm assuming Lopez homered? That's how WASH got their lone run? Also assuming with only 2 hits that JJ doesn't have his yet?
I've kinda given up on watching the Pirate game, as we won, so the worst we're going to be is still up 5 1/2 games. Watching the D-Backs try to blow things, though. Anybody see that Byrnes blast tonight? That's a golf shot. BOOOOOOOO! to the first base ump in the Pirate game.
nice win. I still felt that it was sloppy, like for a bit it seemed like we did the ol' Green Packers "play down to the level of our competition" kind of thing for about half the game. Maybe we were just toying with the Nationals, though. Another series win. Amazing. 8-2 at worst for the home stand. I would imagine a 9-1 home stand would have to be near the top in franchise history. Thank God for extra innings so I can check out the game on Gamecast while at school tomorrow but record the Nationals' feed and watch it when I get home (you Wisconsin-ites can have your Squeeze Play. I'll watch the whole game unfold.)
