  1. and we're back to yapping in the Vent thread about bad baserunning. Haven't had to do that in about a week. edit: since I did it last time . . . . on a positive note, Prince gets to lead off next inning!
  2. this is a slow game on the excitement scale. I'm interested in the game but it's been pretty "blah" compared to what we've had in the past week or so.
  3. boy, Bush's pitches appear to be right down the middle. Flat fastball, fat curve. This could be a long night. On the positive side, Prince almost tied it up.
  4. boy, I clicked the link for that blog and I pretty much just sat here transfixed on the lower image. At least 10 seconds of "staring". Good thing my wife didn't walk by.
  5. didn't Simontacchi play for Italy in the World Baseball Cup? Or was that the Olympics I'm thinking of? Regardless, he's the kind of guy that, historically, the Brewers would struggle against (i.e. a guy just activated/purchased from the minors for this game after not having pitched in the majors for a while). Hopefully, we have ended that rut already this season (Pirates LH pitchers, anyone?) and we can hold our own against him. NOTE: Nothing against the Pirate pitchers--I realize Gorzanally and Duke are probably the real deal, but soft-tossers like Paul Maholm have owned us in the past.
  6. Double wow! I totally missed that the other day!
  7. Another nice game to watch. Just over 2 hours, too! An extra hour to watch 24, Heroes, and CSI: Miami, plus check out a present I received in the mail today. Cappy looked great. Shame that we had to use Cordero, which probably makes him unavailable tomorrow, but that's why we have Turnbow, I suppose. Can one be more excited for tomorrow's game than we all are? The work day just can't go fast enough when your team is winning.
  8. I have the Klements Sausage Races theme song in my head for days. I was humming it in the shower this morning. Annoying? Sure. The worst thing ever? Hardly. Besides, don't we all race for taste?
  9. I can't believe that we're already on our 32nd game of the year. That's just shy of 20% used up already! I love baseball season, and it really lasts a good long 6 months, but sometimes it just speeds by so fast . . .
  10. Darn, Cubs won.
  11. not sure about the Counsell vs Grabow matchup. I probably would have looked to the bench for Graff. Not sure what the Bucs had in the bullpen, though.
  12. well, can't blame bad baserunning on this one. Bullpen doesn't do it's job in the 7th. We still have 3 times up, though, to make things right again.
  13. Ben's curve doesn't look like it's working for him today. Any idea why DTV has blacked out the Brewer broadcast and given us the Pirate's guys today?
  14. now that they've won 4 in a row (good chance of 5 on Sunday) who do the Cubs play next?
  15. I actually thought Prince's stare was a combination of "you will pay for this, meat!" and "you've GOT to be kidding me!"
  16. I am actually pretty shocked. A big win like this and the game thread is only 8 pages?!?! A lot of people must've been haiku'ed out or something. Great game. Sometimes I wish I didn't live in AZ so I could go to more of these games. And I am just loving watching the stadium full of fans that appear to be in the game. And loud. Nice feeling just sitting at home. For the record, I downed 2 hot dogs during the game. Yeah, I know. Pretty weak. In defense, they were Ballpark all-beef Franks that plump up pretty big, put on large hoagie-like buns with stadium sauce, relish, and onions. So they weren't two "cheap" hot dogs.
  17. Thank God! A Brewer win last night (tonight) and no more haikus! Although I can't wait for Troll Amnesty Night!
  18. Is haiku night done? Tis a shame if it is done. See you all next year.
  19. I still can't believe That I'm going (2) to post this: I love the Brewers! Much more than my wife? Of course not, don't be silly! But it is darn close!
  20. I will not do this I hate this game thread custom But you all have fun
  21. this . . . game. . . . . stunk That's all. Nothing else
  22. well, that stunk. Good game for 6.2 innings but those baserunning gaffes cost us. I respect the aggressiveness but you don't need to do it all the time. Have a feeling Ned was drinking out of the "First Place Cooler" full of Brewer kool-aid. Oh, well. Let's try to take the next 2 or 3 against these guys.
  23. I'll be at work, but I'll be checking in on the game at lunch, etc. Also, got the tivo recording the Cardinal's broadcast so I can at least see the game when I get home. That is, assuming it is worth my seeing the game. No squeeze play for me. darn it.
  24. this is turning into one heck of a game!
  25. nice inning so far. Good hustle by all involved, too.
