  1. This is obviously a big blow to a team whose playoff chances were already pretty slim. Here's to hoping the injury won't affect Jimmy long-term though, and that he can continue the progress he made this season next year. As far as his spot in the rotation for the rest of this season, I hope it's anybody but Garza. I know he pitched pretty decently for most of the year, but his last few trips out have been awful. At this point I'd have to think that almost anyone else would give us a better chance to win.
  2. Obviously a tough loss last night, but gotta love the way Woodruff pitched against a good team. Haven't been this excited about our starting pitching in a long time.
  3. If you'd have told me before the season started that the Brewers would be 0.5 GB of first on July 27th I'd have been thrilled! I've been as disappointed as anyone over the past two weeks, but it's important to keep things in perspective. The Brewers are far outperforming expectations, the farm system is stacked, and we've got a great GM and manager running the ship. The future is bright and things haven't looked this positive since 2011 at least. I'm looking forward to enjoying the rest of the 2017 season no matter what happens. Go Brewers!
  4. Wow, I wish that I had seen this thread earlier! I am from Connecticut and have been going to Bridgeport Bluefish games my whole life. I've seen Tyler pitch a couple of times in Bridgeport, but never realized the connection to this board. Best of luck to him, he seems like a great kid and was certainly appreciated by us Bluefish fans!
  5. The last two losses were extremely tough, so it's good to see the team bounce back and win this one. Obviously the Brewers could've swept the series and that's kind of a bummer, but at least it's encouraging that the team fought back to salvage the series. The starting pitching has been really good lately, here's to hoping that it's a sign of things to come.
  6. I should know better than to criticize the Cardinals, especially considering how frequently they've beaten up on the Brewers, but I don't think there's a lot of players that I'm scared of on that roster. You're right that they don't have many weaknesses, but I don't think they have a ton of above-average players either. There just doesn't seem like there's a lot of meat in that lineup, their staff is pretty average, and their bullpen leaves a bit to be desired. They are still more than likely better than we are, though, and they could still make the WC, but I have a feeling that if they do it will be because of other teams being underwhelming, rather than their team being so impressive.
  7. Wow. This has been awesome so far. I know it's the Reds so I won't get my hopes up too much, but this has the makings of a potentially fun team to watch this year.
