  1. The stuff with Jim in the tux and being "classy" were great. Very surprised bu Michael quitting. Not sure where they are going to go with that angle.
  2. I hope Korea wins. I don't want to see another USA vs Venezuela match up. Seen that three times already. Would love to see USA vs Korea, that would be a heck of a ball game.
  3. I'm just looking forward to next season when Lorenzo Cain should be ready to start everyday in CF and he bats leadoff. Then we don't have to have all these debates about who should leadoff. Cain would be a clear cut choice in 2010.
  4. On the Jim Rome show today he said that A-Rod knew when he did this that SI was going to drop the bombshell about his positive test. So basically A-Rod is arrogant and an idiot all at once. Dude seems messed up. I'm sure this makes him look even more like a "true yankee".
  5. Nice, 5 no hit innings for Yovani today. I'm so excited to see him pitch a full season.
  6. That felt like watching a playoff game. What a dramatic classic finish. I will be honest though I text my buddy after PR went up 5-3 that it was over. Glad I was wrong.
  7. I almost thought I read a misprint in the box score when I seen that Suppan went 5 scoreless allowing only 1 hit and no BB's.
  8. Let's go Team USA! No Braun, but I'm still very into this.
  9. I love the tournament and am glad Ryan played for the USA. I do think the tournament could use some tweaks for the 2012 version.
  10. Here is my team for 2009 in the league I'm in. Let me know what you think: C- Ryan Doumit 1B- Mark Teixiera 2B- Robinson Cano 3B- Evan Longoria SS- JJ Hardy OF- Matt Holliday OF- Carlos Beltran OF- Curtis Granderson Utility- Adrian Beltre Bench- Jose Lopez Bench- Chris Young Bench- James Loney Bench- Jerry Hairston Jr. SP- Jake Peavy SP- Yovani Gallardo SP- Matt Garza SP- Gill Meche SP- Aaron Cook SP- Justin Duchscherer RP- Bobby Jenks RP- Heath Bell
  11. Hart has been hot I really hope that carries into the regular season. And yeah, Duffy seems a lock to me to be the 4th OF. Looks like another Doug Melvin find.
  12. No ill will toward the WBC for me. I have really enjoyed the tourney as I did in 2006. And I really loved that Braun was on Team USA and hitting well. But he is much more important to the Brewers then Team USA and I want him 100% going into Opening Day so I kind of hope they bring him back to AZ and shut him down a week or two to heal and get back to 100%.
  13. He does seem ready for Opening Day. Swinging a good bat during the WBC. If needed I think rest him until Opening Day.
  14. I to doubt its bad, but after seeing what Braun went through last year with that intercostal strain I would hate to have him have to deal with that again. As it really affected his swing.
  15. I bet you would get much better crowds at Miller Park. We got a roof no need to worry about the weather outside, why not play them at Miller Park?
  16. Is anyone else concerned that the USA took Braun out of the game late and pinch hit him with McCann and then had McCann play LF because they had no one else? When I saw that I got scared like Ryan left because of an injury or something. I hope I'm just over thinking. Crap! He did leave with an injury. Link
  17. I know Team USA has to let their players get their work in, but at some point you have to play to win the games. And today is that day, and if they don't they will be eliminated by the Netherlands.
  18. I'm still very optimistic on Rogers. Hope he can get all the way to the big club some day.
  19. I'm still very optimistic on Rogers. Hope he can get all the way to the big club some day.
  20. I'm still very optimistic on Rogers. Hope he can get all the way to the big club some day.
  21. Gwynn leading off and Counsell hitting 3rd. That is one lineup I hope to never see in a real game. And seeing Gwynn as "DH" makes me think back to that awful Red Sox series when he was the DH, makes me sick just thinking about it again.
  22. I think I might be interested in a ball or photo. Where could I get an 8x10? BHF, how do you know Lorenzo's agent?
  23. Man that game was brutal. I know Puerto Rico is good, but for the USA to be run ruled vs. anyone is just pathetic. Braun did have a hit though that was nice. Gotta beat Netherlands tomorrow or it's another exit to soon by the US. Hopefully this showing can motivate these guys to get their butts in gear. It just seemed the entire game that PR was hustling more and just playing with more fire. Doesn't help though I guess when Peavy is out there getting lit up and they don't pull him.
  24. Looking forward to another strong outing for Parra. If he can put it together this year to go with Gallardo who I believe already has it, could be a heck of a 1-2 monster this season and for years to come. Throw in Bush and Looper being consistent and tossing 200 innings and our rotation will be fine. Except for that whole Suppan guy.
