  1. Another thing I am enjoying about this A's vs Blue Jays game from 89' is Bob Costas on the call. I always really liked him as a play-by-play guy.
  2. Channel 122 on Time Warner. Yeah that HR Canseco hit was just sick. Talk about "getting all of one". Of course it was tainted though. It's crazy all the good, cocky players the A's had on those teams.
  3. Anyone hear of any guests that will be on the show for 1/12?
  4. FINALLY got mine working. Time Warner sent a tech out and I had a signal problem. Something the splitters, but whatever it works now! I love it, can't wait to be able to watch Hot Stove weeknights now. Enjoying the classic games. A little to much Red Sox stuff on this weekend.
  5. No, I want to get 13 for the April 11th Cubs game for my bachelor party. I hope I can make it happen.
  6. I have a question then. Is there a limit of how many tickets you can purchase per game?
  7. Man that is a little depressing twobrewers. I hope the Braves or Rangers don't do it. I wish Doug would just pony up a 2 year deal for Ben.
  8. I like Swisher. Last year did scare me a little bit though. Before last season I would have done this deal in a heartbeat. Now, not so sure. Very tough call.
  9. That is awesome PrimeTime.
  10. As much as I like McClung as a late inning reliever because of his fastball. I think if he is in the pen it will be as the long man and spot starter. The main setup guys I see are Villanueva, Julio and Riske.
  11. In my opinion the longer Sheets goes without being signed and the longer the Brewers go without signing a free agent pitcher the more likely Sheets is to return on a 1 year deal to Milwaukee. And I'm fine with that.
  12. Hoffman deal is done, time to get a starter Doug. Sheets is my #1 choice.
  13. I like what the Red Sox have done this offseason. Penny, Smoltz and Baldelli. I would have taken all three of those guys on the Brewers.
  14. If Doug can go get Sheets, Garland or Looper now I will feel a lot better. I like the pen with Hoffman at the back end and McClung as the long man if we get another starter.
  15. Love it! I know he is old, but dude had a very good season at 40 last year. He has the mentality and has done it better then anyone in history. I expect good things from Trevor this season. And I can't wait to get chills the first time I'm at Miller Park and hear "Hells Bells" as a future HOF walks through the bullpen door.
  16. Really hope this gets done. Then we can move on and get at least one starter. If this does not get done, I hope we get Lyon and then move on to a starter. So far this offseason has just frustrated the hell out of me.
  17. I think I would rather sign Lyon or Saito then Cordero. Just me though.
  18. Just give him the guaranteed 2nd year Doug. Might as well, I think Hoffman can still be effective for 2 years. Hope I'm right if he does sign.
  19. I would think Broxton will close in LA. So I don't know why Hoffman would go to LA if he can't close. Hopefully that will make the Brewers the front runners.
  20. In the words of Earl Weaver, "you're role is to warm up when I tell you, and go pitch when I tell you."That Weaver quote is gold! I think a healthy David Riske could be used with Villanueva and Stetter as setup men for Hoffman.
  21. I heard he injured his arm signing the contract and is now out for the year, surgery required.
  22. kramnoj, Melvin did say last not on WSSP's hot stove weekly show that they have NOT closed the door on bringing Ben back.
  23. I'm fine with this. Fills a need and Hoffman although 41 had a good year in 2008. I personally can't complain with a guy who converts 30 of 34 saves with an era under 4 and a WHIP of 1.037. Sign him to a 2 year deal. Then try to lure Sheets back or go get Looper or Garland. If Doug gets that done I am fine with this offseason.
  24. I think Manny will win 13 or 14 games with an ERA around 4. He will throw more strikes bringing his pitch count down as well as his WHIP which means deeper into games. A strong season to grow on when he really breaks out in 2010.
  25. No harm in that, I would welcome it. Maybe Mulder has something left in the tank, although for low risk deals I would have preferred Brad Penny.
