  1. I think Huira is still a very good dangling fruit for a team. He is only 25 still and a team confident in their hitter coaching/development could take that chance. He is an all-star bat if they can get him back to making contact and being the advanced hitter he was. Could be a Segura type thing. Change of scenery could get him back on track and get him to make contact again. I think Chourio & Frelick should be untouchable. Chourio's ceiling is way too high and Frelick's make up should make his floor at least a solid starter. I personally would add Kelly as well because I think he still has highest floor/ceiling combo to be an impact at MLB level. Guys like Weimer and Mitchell I'd hate to see go. Weimer has gone cold but up to this point has been outstanding. Mitchell just hasn't been healthy enough to really even maximize trade value so you'd be kind of selling low on him. I have a feeling that many teams would like to dive in and snag where Brewers are strongest, young lottery tickets in DSL to Carolina. A lot of exciting unproven potential in that group. Mendez I could see as a guy some teams could really like who may be easier to pry away than a Quero or Garcia and without the struggles with contact like Perez. Turang & Felicanio I could see being compelling for a rebuilding team. They are guys that right now could be called up and given a chance now while filling some gaps for that team. Our AAA team is basically journeyman and older guys so not much else there to really excite teams. Same could be said about AA pitching. Appears to be mostly guys who could maybe come up and file some innings but probably more AAAA types at best. Maybe Castaneda, I know some on here really like him...his season has been pretty eh though. A guy like Gray Jr. I could see a team wanting to be thrown in because of tools with hope they could increase contact.

  3. Yeah you can never put much value in anyone talking about teams reaching. National Scout Media and hobbyist have their rankings, film studies, stats to make rankings but they are working with a fraction of the amount of data as these NFL scouting departments. A teams board is much different than those websites we have access to. I don't think most even realize how little information most those site have compared to pro teams. From the meetings with players, their coaches, their medicals, schematic value. Learning key traits like Football IQ, motivations/passions, character/leadership, and their dedication to the craft which are all things scouting service do not have very much access to since they are not meeting these kids or doing all their background digging. Those qualities are are just as important to future success than production, athletic ability, and film study. Perfect example, almost every year after the draft I think, crap, the Vikings had a great draft! They drafted all these guys I liked and were high on draft service rankings. Every year, Vikings underachieve. I never complain about Packers reaching on a player. I trust that they know more than these scouting services and more times than not, they prove so.
  4. Saw it mentioned about Leo's strength. As a freshman at Wisconsin their was videos of him repping 225 over 40 times. I was hoping he'd bench at combine, maybe break some records!
  5. Not a homer take but kind of a homer take. I honestly wouldn't mind Fergy at all. With way people are rating him, he could give great day 3 value. Early on at UW he was thought about as a possible first round talent (after redshirt soph year, early rankings going into rd junior season had him very high). QB issues really hurt him this year. Nagy raved about him during senior bowl week and then he had a very good game. He can run block and scouts rave about his hands (plus us Badger fans already know that). His combine will be very interesting. Overall I think the combine will be huge for this TE class because it is so tightly bunched and people are all over with the pecking order. Some need to separate themselves a bit. I also like Madbad really like McBride. If Big Dog Lewis is back again next season, it gives you time to develop his blocking more and let him do more of what he is best at. I want Tonyan back. Not sure what happened to his blocking this season but he has become a favorite of mine.
  6. I can't really judge prospects too much until combine and the RAS scores are available but Gute and his team have types they key in on. As of now, I doubt Packers go WR in round 1. London is the main target I could see but he should be gone. He has the main qualities they like. Big, Length, great catch radius, best contested catcher in draft, and just a very good athlete. He played on the USC basketball team originally as well. I think high end, a lesser Mike Evans. Burks is another guy who has the the size they like and has gadget uses. A bigger AJ Brown is the biggest comparison on the field but athletically a more fluid DK Metcalf. He should dominate testing like DK. He is a freak specimen. Has work to do verse man and route running a bit. Played off line a lot and was moved around a lot to help get him free runs. So regardless of talent, will need work to be able to excel off the line verse pro corners on the outside. Williams would be a very interesting option. He is will miss probably most of rookie season with the ACL. If MVS is gone, he would fill that deep threat and stretch field guy that is needed. His speed is just blazing! He has solid size at 6'2 197 as well to match. Wilson to me is a Stefon Diggs. Both him and Olave don't have the typical size Packers look for. Rodgers is the exception to rule and they were looking for a gadget type slot. Both could be good WRs but just don't think they fit what Packers like as much. I could add guys like Dotson, Robinson, S. Moore, and Metchie to this as a guy I really like but doesn't fit Gute's mold. Guys I like: David Bell doesn't get much love because he doesn't have that standout trait but he does literally everything very well and with polish. He reminds me of a Robert Woods with that. A guy who doesn't jump off the page but is just a darn good WR. From routes, hands, contested catches, smarts, and ability to work with ball in hand. He has good size at 6'2 205ish. A guy who can probably earn trust from ARod (assuming he is back) or be reliable yearly on for Love. 2nd round maybe 3rd Christian Watson absolutely screams Packers. 6'4 210, will likely test well with high RAS, can stretch the field, solid route runner for his size, and aggressive blocker. Has had some drop issues but thats nothing new. 3rd-4th round George Pickens has the skill set to boom. I know there has been few off field things and then the ACL that took away most of 2021 but he can really play! Needs to work on getting off the line. Never produced at a high level in college despite all the talent so that is worrisome. 2-3 round For the Jordy crowd, Alec Pierce draws comparisons at 6'3 213. Deceptive speed (same as what was said about Jordy) that should be in the 4.4's. Pretty savvy guy who plays on the outside and very good going up for contested catches. Plus blocking reviews. Heard hands need to get a bit stronger. Apparently he is just an athletic freak who should shine at combine prob 3rd - 4th but combine can push him up to 2nd. Justyn Ross has the talent to be a late day 1 or early day 2 guy but he hasn't been able to stay healthy and is predicted to be lower when it comes to testing (Tee Higgins underachieved as well and who he is compared to a good amount). Plays faster than times but ran 4.89 coming out of high school and may only be low 4.6's. Depending on combine will shift him one way or the other. Sitting there in the late 3rd or 4th could be worth the pick. If you like shorter, slighter WRs with speed, this is a class you'd love. 2000s Packers to McCarthy style of west coast offense would have fit many of those guys great. All the quick slants and pops. I just know what Gute has said and the type of guys he has brought in so Any WR under 6'1 (prob 6'2) and over 200 I usually don't think much about beside if we need a gadget guy. I am sure they aren't willing to give up on Amari so I haven't look at too many of them.Sum up Gute's thoughts he's talked about. Length = more catch radius. Length and just high RAS just increases that more. More catch radius helps complete more passes. Also Packers are big in good WR blocking and the big/stronger they are, the better the blocking.
  7. I've been listening to more rap music since I'm starting to work out. Ordinarily don't like rap because of the content and language, but I like NF a lot, too. Really smart lyrics and clean. Propaganda is another guy you might want to check out. Witt Lowry & Ollie are two other ones I like who are similar. It’s completely coincidental they are all white rappers. They just rap in a style & lyrically that match things I can relate to. If I’m in rap mood I can still throw on J Cole, Lil Wayne (way he uses language is fascinating) Kendrick Lamar or Big Sean. Strongly dislike most rap my students listen to. Meaningless lyrics with big beats with small hook that plays over and over. My Spotify is just loaded with playlists from ton of genres ( I can’t have playlist that mix them, OCD that way) I go in big waves for week or two on a specific genre & then switch.
  8. I’m big into Mumford & Sons. Their latest album I like, has moved more away from folk sound a bit to more Coldplay like. However, Judah & the Lion is very interesting band if you like old Mumford. They do really good job mixing it up and have just a different sound. New album just came out. If you don’t like that kind of sound with the banjo & mandarin mixed in probably avoid. For both I prefer studio or acoustic sets on YouTube that gets ride of the radio sounds & you can enjoy their talents as musicians more. Stapleton his outstanding! True musician with great sound that has been lost with pop country taking over the genre. NF is a rapper that I really like. Has that Eminem fire and passion but very good lyrics & purpose to songs unlike most of new rap that is repeating same lines that mean nothing of value to 99% of the population but have catchy beats.
  9. So just found this out & not very important but did anyone know that Monte’s older brother plays for the Phoenix Suns? Shaquille Harrison? Pretty athletic family... not shocking lol
  10. Found these to be two interesting reads on Yelich's defense. Have to think in the corner in Miller Park his defensive WAR will have major jump. https://www.fishstripes.com/2017/9/8/16269790/christian-yelichs-gold-glove-conundrum-rich-waltz-todd-hollandsworth https://www.fishstripes.com/2017/10/27/16559592/in-record-defensive-year-yelich-overlooked
  11. I have been selling Yelich hard since Marlins changed ownership and am to the moon excited for him to be here. I believe fully in his talent! We have him at a good price through the prime he is about to enter in a year or two. People are worried about producing runs if we trade Domingo but I legit think Yelich is a 20/20 hitter next year for the crew and would not be shocked if he hits 30/30 in the next 5 years. We can talk up and down about Brinson's potential but Yelich is a rising star right now with a proven track record of success. Maybe Brinson, Diaz, and Harrison star for them 3-4 years from now but we want to compete now. I am usually #1 prospect homer on this site but there are very few players in baseball that I don't even flinch at giving them up for. Yelich is one. Welcome aboard!
