  1. Are Brewers in on Rodriquez? That would be solid get! Weak year for international pitching
  2. ? Plush mentioned Nottingham's impressive turn around right before you & there has been a good amount of talk about him lately. He's impressive this season outside of slow start. He was very young last season for a catcher at AA. I'm still high on him. Nice to see the power picking back up!
  3. Giannis also most improved! Great night for the Bucks!
  4. Luetz, Ward Jr., and Castillo signing would help a lot, hopefully at least 2 sign
  5. Carroll & Diaz will be this years college Helena stars. Loved the Diaz pick & surprised he fell to 29th round. Was on of top catchers in the country. Carroll continues to play like you'd hope & expect as advanced college bat
  6. Neuhaus has the best power bat of the bunch but can seem to hit for any average. Orf is a fun prospect & hope he gets a shot somewhere. Undrafted griddy player who just hits & plays everywhere
  7. Think with the north of a million dollar signing bonus they gave McClanahan last year, he is a guy who is a prospect. More to show of course but think he has really good potential. Peyton Henry is another kid who could shift over to 1st down the line. Big bat & bigger frame. See how his catching progresses down the line. So far, I've read good things & he is getting nearly all the work in Helena.
  8. Exactly! Transferring schools & countries still comes with transcripts & checks. You don't just walk into school, tell them age & grade & just are given classes....they have to transfer all the classes over, cross check them, and then sometimes call previous school for additional information. Once again, how many high schoolers do you know who are willing to graduate high school & then go back & relive it all over again. Being 19 & having to make friends with all 14 year old boys.... hang out (which is creepy) all you kid girls, and be legal adult living like a child all over again. Am I one of the only ones who sees any of these & the improbability of it? So many people just act like it is some simple thing to do. If he went through all of that, that is just messed up. Loss a lot of respect for someone who should graduate from high school & then go back & repeat whole thing over again... not just lie to get extra season but 4 extra seasons.....As a junior in high school then he could have been going out to bar & drinking legally, now he needs to still just head back to hotel when all his teammates are out.... commitment
  9. That would be beyond commitment. Could you imagine going all the way through high school, graduating.... then going back & doing it all over again? That is 8 years of high school basketball. Australia likes basketball, you'd think someone outside of one kid with a year book would notice an athletic 7'0 foot basketball player is first time around. Moreover, don't you think teams & scouts would have called the school of the yearbook & then the Canadian school he transferred to for transcripts? No one else outside of one kid with a yearbook picture has come out with anything more. Did Maker & his parents really go through this much trouble and forging paper work. According to yearbook, he graduated in 2010.... he then moved to Canada, age 18, and knowingly & willing after faking ton of transcripts & records, restarted his high school career. They aren't claiming when he was young they lied where it may be less noticeable or his fault... they are claiming he finished high school, moved, then restarted high school at 19.... If it was something when he was young, like a year maybe 2 while leaving Sudan, I'd get that. This not close to that. This is claiming he went through high school twice with fake transcripts & other documents. Working in education at least in US, it is not easy to do that. Doubt in Canada either. They'd get transcripts, usually call former school for additional information, and etc. Australia is another highly educated country so they would have all records. Lastly, he is 7' NBA prospect playing low level competition in Canada....posting highlight clips on YouTube....of course he looked like Sampson. Not like he was doing it at Nike Summit against elite talent or national competition. Against higher D1 scholarship type competition, he blended in and didn't look older. Still was very raw. More raw than a guy with 8 years plus think year of prep school under his belt should be.
  10. On Thon, I think that is absurd. Based on physical maturity alone, there is no way he is possibly 25. Trump, Fox News, and many other sites pushed the whole false Obama was born in Africa thing for 8 years.... should we all have just assumed those sources or "sites" were correct? Maybe it's because I'm 29 & have coached High School & some 2 year college athletics but unless Thon is CIA quality liar, you'd be able to tell he was not 20. Giannis, Jabari, and etc would figure it out. Coaches would be able to figure it out. Bucks in all there research prior to draft would have found out. He isn't Soriano who has major language barriers to disguise it. There is just a difference in maturity. By talking to kids, it is not hard to tell 18-21, 22-25 and then 26 & up. He talks & sounds like 20 year old, his maturity physically looks 20, and really outside of some bogus stuff days before draft.... there is zero signs he is older. 4 years is a giant difference in age! Imagine any high school talented 7 foot athlete graduating high school & then instead of starting college bball.... he is starting freshman year of high school over. That's essentially what we would have been.... go to a local high school football camp this summer & just look at the physical difference between an 8th grader & high school senior...talk to them...you will notice. Then maybe look at physical & maturity difference of a senior on a recruiting visit & senior & high school.... you will notice difference. Go to an underage college party then to a young 21-24 year old bar.... you notice difference. Then go to a old 25-26 year old sports bar.... you will notice. It is way by & maturity works for males. Can any one here honestly think he is older than Vaughn, Giannis, Parker, Brodgen, Payton & actually Middleton, Snell, and Dellys age?! You could try to say some people just have baby faces & are thin but he has same build of KD & KG coming out. Look at them at age 18-19 to 23-25.... It changed and matured but apparently Thon's body and lying abilities surpass most of the human male race. Sorry for rant, dumb internet propaganda being sold as truth drives me nuts. We live in a fake news world though.Just amazes me, he made it all the way up to draft before anyone in the world notice any age issue.... which was based off a high school yearbook. In school I could teach a 3rd grader how to falsify that. It's not like his mix tapes weren't viral & him on the map 3 years prior to draft..... whole time though.... nothing! Incredible. Then after fake news gets out there, conspiracy theorist get to work....

  12. lol the debate I think was right before or after promotion but yes recently. I still would have Woodruff above him. Now he has found his command, I love what he brings as a SP. Even with his age close to level, I don't think that means he "should" be dominating the way he is. Considering statistically he has arguably been the most dominant pitcher in milb this season. Not sure many pitchers drafted last year are on his level regardless of age. I am not as high on Ortiz as others. He is still very young and loved him coming out but he has yet to really come out yet this season yet. Im still nervous about if he will be able to control weight. Think that will be major battle for him before he looks like Colon or Coffey out there. Reports this year have been good on that front. I do not think Burns has high ace ceiling by any means but kid just knows how to pitch. Has command of all of his pitches, knows how to attack them, is an ultimate competitor, and just has a bulldog approach. Think he is at least Chase Anderson. By season end, Hader and Woodruff may be off prospect list.... Think there should be a good debate between Ortiz and him.
  13. 4 starts at AA...pump the breaks. It's not just 4 starts though, it's also what he did at A+. Not to mention last season. I'm not sure I remember a Brewer minor league pitcher having been this dominant for this long consistently. Not sure another 4-8 starts will change that. Think MLB won't happen this year but very well could finish in AAA & then compete next season for job. Bigger question, is he our #1 pitching prospect?
  14. Cordell is bad enough in the infield that Brewers won't even try him back at 3rd with loaded OF.... but yeah the extra OPS would help a ton with absolutely horrid defense. He very well could have negative WAR due to defensive factors to offset the .150 extra slugging. Arcia is a young kid growing. He will never be Lindor with the bat but I believe he showing plenty of growth to be optimistic. He needs to walk more and his body needs to continue to mature/get stronger. With those he should sit somewhere in the .730+ range.
  15. Belonis is solid player, nothing special. He will be able to get a lot more ABs now without being blocked. I see Wilson a lot like Sefen Wilson. Just a solid college 3B. Gideon & him will bring pop to middle of lineup but will never be a top prospect. Carroll I am guessing will be up soon enough. At 23, he's pretty advanced for Helena. You can see that already.
  16. Think there are a lot of people making a bigger deal out of Hiura's injury than they probably should. Thornburg as mentioned above healed just fine. He came back throwing mid 90's and was dominant. Not sure why that was a bad decision.... Yes, he broke down again for this season but not sure if he had Tommy John, the story would be different. Bodies are different. Some pitchers arms never recover back to what they once were or they tear it again. Others go on to have even stronger arms with long lasting careers with no issues .So if it healed and he performed after....why would TJ been a better option? Now that he is injured again, why is that more the Brewers fault over Thornburg's own body. He is a little guy with effort, pumping heat.... that is a lot of stress on an elbow. Does Hiura have the same body as Thornburg? Does he recover and self-repair the same? Does he put as much stress on his elbow throwing? Is his career reliant on throwing max effort in high leverage situations 60+ innings year? If answer is no to any of those.... why does it make sense comparing apples to oranges? Teams don't like throwing players under the knife just to do so. In next 6 weeks, we will know how healed his arm is and what the next step forward will be. If he injuries it again and needs it TJ..... I still will have zero issue with their decision. Can't make decisions based off of a few past pitchers in our system. Everyone's body is completely different.
  17. Just about to post that W L ERA G GS IP H R ER BB K BAA WHIP 0 4 8.23 6 6 27.1 35 25 25 11 27 .310 1.68 3 1 2.25 8 0 32.0 22 11 8 10 34 .190 1.00
  18. Was hoping for OG. He is an explosive long athlete who is a lock down defender. Not much scoring power but would have been great in up-tempo run offense we are in when Giannis is at PG Mason, Hart, or Tremble for 2nd pick I am hoping for. I will hold off judgement on Wilson so I don't sound dumb in the future. I was underwhelmed though.
  19. Did it storm that bad in Appleton? I'm in Fond du Lac and it has barely sprinkled.
  20. Probably most disappointed for Lillis. Spent all high school in Pints shadow but he's a solid arm with promise... Luna & Sibrien also disappointing
  21. Wonder if now that All-Star break is over if Monte gets the bump back to his wave group. Not sure you send any of those current OFs down but with DH, you can rotate them all through the OF. Harrison is best defensive CF in the group. Hopefully Griep gets the bump soon. He seems to be one of the top homegrown relievers we have brewing.
  22. He can play, believe he is 17. He was in lineup for 1-2 games. Not sure if he went to Arizona or if he got injuried.
  23. Good thing is with DH he could play all season & continue to heel arm if wanted. Then evaluate come September. Of course he is getting checked out now to see if it is something they need done for sure. If so, get it done now so he is good to start Spring next season.
  24. I don't think at time anyone really thought Hanigarvwould be what he is right now. Most thought 4th OF average Starter. Not this. Also bunch of us really liked Banda but who thought he'd become a top pitching prospect in an organization. Hindsight, great deal Arizona! (Not often you can say that over past few seasons prior to GM change). Parra was good for us though and brought in a solid arm. Overall, always been a Doug support & always will! Is Gord still around helping out? Can't remember. He deserves some credit to.
