  1. Get Garza through 7, then Wang for as long as possible depending on the offense. At least get the pen another night with a reduced workload. Assuming they don't come back, this will be the first series where the Brewers failed to win game one. It'll be interesting to see how they respond. Nice to see Segura rip one last inning. Get him going!
  2. Gomez is just Gomez. He does silly things sometimes, and I like him anyway. 10-2 is a great start. Have to love a sweep over a divisional opponent regardless of what month it is. Just. Keep. Winning.
  3. He's being placed on the 15 day DL as of today according to TH. Thanks. I thought something must have been up...just missed it.
  4. Wow. Pirates make an even worse baserunning error. Great throw, Segura. Great play from Henderson!
  5. Is Kintzler up? Am I missing something? With how well he'd been pitching I would think this would be a spot where he'd be in the conversation...
  6. That was just a tough situation all around. Weeks hit a hard line drive to a fielder playing in a good spot. Davis panicked a little, but you could make a case that, with Gomez up, you might hold him up anyway, knowing Marte isn't all that far way and all his momentum is headed home. Just a bad break. Let Henderson pitch out of it and then the middle of the order drive in a few. Or wait another inning. Walk-offs are more fun
  7. Seriously, Henderson is gassing it. He looked GOOD. RRR is smarter than me. If Henderson gets it going that would be awesome for the bullpen.
  8. I would have liked to have seen Wang somewhere here, but I suppose it is more in the team's long term interests to get Henderson going. That fastball for the K was at 96. Good to see.
  9. Hmmm...If you're not going to use Wang here, I'm not sure where. Maybe RRR splits the ninth?
  10. Looked like Kintzler was already warm when Braun hit the bomb. If he's stretched out and ready, it might be easier to just give him the inning, right?
  11. Braun hit both of those right on the screws. I like Joe Block generally, but would a little home run excitement kill him? Both of those looked gone off the bat. There's got to be a happy medium between Ueck getting pumped about a fly to the warning track and Block not seeming to realize it has a chance until it clears the wall. Build some excitement, man!
  12. Excellent series! Two shutouts through six games. Very good offense and pitching this series. Infield defense wasn't very good, but getting out of Boston 4-2 is a great start to the year!
  13. I could just be buying into the offseason hype, but it looks like Luc is doing a really nice job framing up the pitch on (or off) the very outside edge of the plate, particularly to right-handed hitters. Yo seems to have gotten a couple strikes that Lester hasn't.
  14. I haven't seen a shot of where the third basemen was playing. Looked to me like Go-Go was trying to catch them off guard and just bunted it too hard.
  15. Too early for Yo to come out for the 7th? Be nice to pad the lead a little. Heck, a baserunner would be nice. Lester mowing through the order the last few frames.
  16. So, I think Weeks' play was crappy. He's got to be able field that cleanly. That said, I'm not sure he had a shot at the double play. Of course, we'll never really know. No harm done at least.
  17. Ueck says Phillies cancel tomorrow's game due to the threat of rain. New start time is 4:05 ET Tuesday. I like that better than splitting the series with a day off.
  18. Since the modern MVP was introduced in 1931, the Red Sox are the only team to have a winner every decade, can you name them? 1930s-- 1940s(2)--Teddy Ballgame and Bobby Doerr? 1950s--Teddy Ballgame 1960s-- 1970s(2)--Yaz. Fisk? 1980s--Jim Rice? 1990s--Nomar 2000s--Ortiz Guesses. Drawing blanks on the others.
  19. Update on the Audio Overlay. According to MLB.tv tech forum, this is a flash issue. The audio overlay will be available once the system is updated, but no date has been set for that yet. In the meantime, you can use the following link to access last year's player: http://www.mlb.com/mediacenter/?nexdef=true Note that it requires NexDef. I haven't tested out the functionality yet, but I can see the audio overlay button, so hopefully that will fix it for some folks. My understanding is that a lot of people are frustrated with this issue and they're "working to move up the scheduled update." Whatever that means. Hope it helps.
  20. Had the game on silent while the Badgers were going. Really glad K-Rod closed it right after Trae's last shot. It helped me get a little sleep at least, and meant I didn't have to watch the celebration/agony footage. Good night from the bullpen. Other than Henderson, everyone did their job. Clutch hitting from the bottom third of the order. Davis is also having an awesome series. Hopefully Segura's night at the plate gets his confidence back. Thought he had some good swings.
  21. This. I think UW played two games down the the stretch where everyone involved will remember them for a LONG time. Arizona and Kentucky. They won one and lost the other. Harrison hit a shot. Trae didn't. It happens, and there was no shame in the way the Badgers played all tournament. It hurts, but this was a special group, and I hope they all realize it sooner rather than later. What a great year of basketball. Go Badgers.
  22. Gotta love UW's chances if they hold UK under 60. I think I saw that KenPom predicted a 70-69 UW win. I'll go Badgers 74-71 on a true buzzer beater. Florida romps over UConn. UW wins a game in the 50's in the finals. Madison celebrates like crazy and no one even cares that the national media falls back onto the "Badgers are boring" tip.
