  1. Alright. Nice to be proven wrong so quickly. Three runs isn't insurmountable. Be real nice to go into the off day riding a comeback. Feels like one of those nights to me, but I've been wrong before.
  2. I don't trust Gonzalez at all. Granted, that was a cheap hit, but why do I feel like he just can't put hitters away? Have to stop the damage at one to have any shot you would think.
  3. Axford Actually, this is a pretty interesting point. I know that, technically, there's a difference between "sign stealing" and "tipping pitches," but it seems teams only claim indignation when it's framed as the former. The Pirates starting pitching really wasn't good in this last series. It just wasn't. Even in the unlikely case that Brewer hitters knew what pitch was coming, it still doesn't mean they have a case for complaint. For all we know, the team scouted well or saw something on video to indicate the Pirates' staff was "tipping." Information comes in all kinds of ways. Someone with a binoculars is probably the least likely source.
  4. Burgos' job so far makes me wonder what the team does when Narvy is ready to come off the DL. Also interesting that Fiers has pitched well in Nashville in his two starts, though he needs to keep the walks under control. I'm inclined to stick with Hiram so far. I like what I've seen from him. Seems mature. Mixes pitches a better than Fiers, at least according to my amateur eye. It'll be interesting to see how he's treated, especially once Narvy is healthy and if Fiers gets things going in Nashville.
  5. Frustrating loss for sure. Can't help but feel like it should have been a W. That said, tough to get too down about a winning series. I think even 5-4 is a good homestand against this level of competition, so it's off to a good start.
  6. What an AB from Lalli. Let's go Schafer! Keep it going for Jean.
  7. That was an awful 0-2 pitch from Gonzalez. Way too much of the plate.
  8. Ax strikes again. Cheap base hit comes back to hurt. Man. Frustrating.
  9. I notice you don't even mention that Yuni hit .333/.333/.542 against the Cardinals in that series with 5 RBI. He wasn't the reason they lost. The pitching was awful. Yuni had lots of big hits in the 2nd half of that season too. I also remember Hairston's error in Game 5 as the big blow in the loss. That and the Crew doesn't win Game 4 without Yuni and Randy Wolf, which is funny given the level of disdain for both of them throughout the years. Baseball really is a funny game.
  10. Dear Carlos Gomez, I love your energy. I love your defense. I love when you hit home runs and bunt for hits and steal bases. I love all of your five tools. Dear Yuni, Every time you come to the plate I doubt you can keep up this insane hitting display. Most times you prove me wrong. I am glad to eat crow.
  11. Agreed. I certainly haven't hit the panic button yet. Burgos has been efficient so far. 54 pitches through 4. Shadows a factor today? I'm with Ueck and Joe this afternoon.
  12. Good to see Aoki get a day off. I'm starting to get a little worried about the league adjusting to him, even though he's been one of my favorite Brewers since very early in 2012. That said, he seems like he's heady enough to be able to adjust back. Hopefully the day off helps. I'm feeling a big day for Luc. Starting this inning.
  13. Good start to a long homestand. Hoping the bats keep it rolling for Marco tomorrow.
  14. I just wanted to quote you to say that your username gets an A+ from me. I guess I hadn't noticed until this thread. Thanks! Luc totally seems like the kind of guy that could eat fifty eggs without batting an eye.
  15. The amazing thing is that none of the big names have really been hitting like they are capable of hitting. Braun's gotten his homers, but I think his best is yet to come. Weeks has been terrible, of course, but Lucroy hasn't been a whole lot better and Aoki has slumped lately too. I'm a little bit concerned about all three of them going forward, but who knows? With A-Ram and Hart playing productively, look out!
  16. Maldy! Just realized I started Yo and Wandy in Fantasy today. Haha. I'll gladly take the hit. At least it's coming against the right pitcher Now if Yo could just settle into a nice groove...
  17. I'll say this. Rickie's patience seems improved the last few games. It would be nice to not let Wandy off the hook.
  18. Looks like a bad call at first. Not good, though, Luc. Well. It lessens the double play likelihood.
  19. Segura with pop and now Braun back to his extra-base-hitting ways. Two things I love seeing.
  20. Kershaw was just on after the first inning, Weeks bloop double notwithstanding. Lohse with another hard luck loss. I think the next few weeks will tell us a lot about this team, with a divisional heavy schedule both at home and on the road. Getting Ramirez healthy should help, and maybe Braun can get a little more locked in at the dish. Go Crew!
  21. Well, start a new winning streak on Friday, I guess. Great pitching tonight. This team will win a lot of games if the bullpen is even close to this good. And Estrada has been very good as well in the early going. Just keep winning series.
