  1. wow that was terrible. didn't estrada see the 1B crashing in? adjust and either bunt to 3rd or pull it back.
  2. how the hell is cole still in the game? he started the entire brawl.
  3. I hope they win, but I think this series will end up being a split. Still not such a bad thing.
  4. I am disappointed in Rickie Weeks. The way he plays baseball does not make me feel good inside. Edit: JJK
  5. Believe it or not, the Cubs actually remind me a lot of the Brewers from 2002 to 2006. The Brewers major league roster sucked, but the farm system was loaded with hitters. The Cubs are the same way now. They stink but their farm is loaded with good hitting prospects. The only difference is that at least the Brewers had Gallardo in system. I don't think the Cubs have any pitching prospects that project to be as good as Gallardo. If I was Theo I would trade Samardzija and a few other veterans for pitching prospects. The Cubs have fat wallets too. Use up the money on buying a rotation and a pen.
  6. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/brewers-catcher-martin-maldonado-knocks-cover-off-ball----literally?ymd=20140418&content_id=72567730&vkey=news_mlb Ueck's reaction is priceless! I've never seen that happen. I wonder what Alvarez was thinking when he fielded that ball?
  7. Interesting that you should say that about Jay. My Cardinals friend loves his defensive skills. I'm a little surprised to hear that. It seems like he's stuck in CF for you guys for now. Is a Taveras a must keep guy for you or would you trade him for a real shiny prize? Cardinals are ready to win now. An elite SS could make them unstoppable. I'd be tempted to trade a highly talented but unproven rookie for a big time player right now.
  8. I say Miller Park lasts 30 to 50 years. As long as they continue to update the facility, they won't have to build a new park. Miller Park is a dome and domes in general are easier to maintain. Weather will never be a problem. The concourses are huge and there are numerous top notch concession stands in the ballpark. If any major renovations needed to be done to the structure, it wouldn't be a problem either. There's no reason why Miller Park should be torn down before age 50.
  9. RRR is such a dunce. There was no need to attempt a bunt. Let Gomez swing away. If the bunt had worked, the Gomez RBI double doesn't happen. The only time a move like that is acceptable is when the runner is on 3rd.
  10. I'd be patient with Rosenthal. I think he could end up being a lights out closer. The future rotation should look like this 1. Wacha 2. Wainwright 3. Garcia 4. Miller 5. Lynn I'd trade away Miller for an elite defensive SS. SS and C are the only positions where I would gladly sacrifice offense for defense. Peralta is a disaster defensively. Martinez may end up being a BP guy if he can't fix his control issues. It seems like the Cards prioritize flamethrowers over control guys. When is Taveras going to get called up? Seems like only a matter of time now that Beltran is gone. Holliday is safe in left. Who's the RF? I'd put Taveras in RF and leave Jay in CF. Jay's defense is sick.
  11. I wish I knew what RRR's thought process was on having Lucroy attempt to steal.
  12. it's cool dude as long as you don't pull the whole we're the greatest and classiest fans in the world routine. you're pretty spot on with you evaluation with the exception of the cubs. I think they're truly an awful team. Put them in any division and they will still win less than 75 games. I have them finish the season somewhere between 68 wins and 73 wins. I think the Reds are going to regress a little this year. I have them falling back to 84 wins. Pirates somewhere around 87 wins. I think the Brewers will take one of the wild card spots and finish somewhere around 88 to 91 wins. This team won't win the division as long as they keep getting beat by the Cards. The Cards are going to be tough again. Wacha is off to a disappointing start. What do you think happens with him this year? On the Cubs, I think they will surprise a lot of people. I can see them very close to a .500 team. On the "best fans" BS, I, like 90% of enlightened St. Louisans know it's just that. Thanks a lot Sports Illustrated for making us an object of ire! On Wacha, he really fits into the mold of Carp/Waino in his size and delivery. And like them, future arm troubles await. And you know phenoms....most don't pan out. I thought Ankiel was the second coming of Feller and Jaime Garcia the next Pedro Martinez. Go figure. But I see him as a 16 to 18 game winner this year. Let me ask you now - what's the story on Carlos Gomez? Is he for real? What kind of pitchers does he feast on, who did he play for before joining the Brews? etc. I really don't know what to say about Gomez. He's had 1 awesome year. He's off to a pretty good start this year. If he has another great year, I'll believe he's legit. Someone with more baseball savvy could answer this better, but I think Gomez struggles with breaking pitches. Most Brewers can't hit the slider. Lol I know I'm just teasing you about the classiest fans thing. I can tell Wacha's going to be a major pain in the butt for the Brewers. The guy has filthy stuff. It would not surprise if he had a bit of a sophomore slump though. Wacha is the ace of the future for the Cards. What do you think about Carlos Martinez and Shelby Miller. I'm not a Miller fan. I think he relies on the fastball too much and it's going to get him killed. The Cubs are going to have a powerful offense soon. The pitching in the minors is very weak though. I could see the Cubs creep around 77 to 81 wins in 2015 or 2016.

  14. I'm in a wait and see mode. Gallardo at his best is probably a true #2 SP. I wouldn't pay him big money unless he pitches like Yu Darvish or King Felix. I definitely would not trade him though. Best thing to do would be to wait until his contract is up. If the kids are ready and there are still good veteran SP's on the roster, then you let him go. If Loshe or Garza have fallen apart and/or the prospects are failure, then you keep him.
  15. When was the last time the Brewers had 3 sweeps in a row? 9 straight? Holy crap
