  1. muchas gracias Ryan Braun! At least the scoreless streak is over. Who knows maybe we can still win the game. Avoiding the sweep would be quite a moral victory.
  2. Like most I am pretty down on the team. However, its a long season and the crew will have some key starters return from injury soon. I think the crew will finish short of the 85 wins I predicted but finish near 81.
  3. More like one of the 3 or 4 worst teams in baseball. I would be happy to wager something that the Brewers won't finish with one of the 4 worst records but I am almost certain you are just venting. At the moment I would agree that they are one of the worst teams in baseball. However, I highly doubt that they end up finishing near the bottom. While I no longer expect them to finish 2nd, I still expect them to finish 3rd in the division. The offense will be fine when Aramis and Hart return. Most lineups look like junk when two of the top three hitters are missing. Hell you could even argue that all three of our top hitters are missing. Braun certainly hasn't been himself. It's like Braun is still in hibernation.
  4. This offense is hard to watch. Might as well call up Morris and not waste anymore time. How much worse can it get with Morris? Gonzalez is garbage, Yuni is worthless garbage, Hart won't be back for awhile.
  5. The guy just isn't the same anymore. He's never been clutch. He takes too many fastballs. He's lost speed. His defense is not good enough to overcome his offensive deficiencies. People can post his stats all they want. Stats don't show the whole picture. I remember Mike Cameron being the king of worthless homeruns. Cameron always homered when we were either down by 10 or up by 10. At least Cameron more than made up for his weak offense with elite defense. I can't say the same about Weeks.
  6. Come on Braun, you've got to do better than that. Can't afford to waste scoring opportunities in a game like this.
  7. Another clutch at bat from Mr.Clutch himself. At least Lohse put up another good outing. At least the rotation looks good. Yovani will be Yovani. Lohse looks like he's going to continue to be productive. Willy has shown a lot of promise. Marco is doing good. I think Fiers will be ok. As long as your #5 does alright, you're fine. The bullpen is bi-polar. The lineup is going to stink until Hart and Aramis return. Segura is really killing it right now.
  8. I agree with you. I don't think that his stuff is the problem. I think his problem is that he uses the fastball too much. If you keep showing your fastball, eventually hitters are going to hit it. I think that Axford should rely on the curveball instead of the fastball. Attack with the curveball and another breaking ball, and then surprise hitters with the fastball. He's got nothing to lose so maybe he should consider a change in gameplan. Whatever Axford is doing now isn't working.
  9. It sucks how I spent the entire winter getting excited for Brewers baseball. I was not expecting much this year. What I did not expect was for the Crew to look so weak and hopeless early. I know that it is long season, but I feel like there is not much to look forward to. As big of a homer as I am, I cannot realistically expect the team to do well with such a bad bullpen. A good pen is as important as a good rotation. I am not worried about our rotation. Yo will be Yo, Lohse will hopefully be solid, Willy has shown promise, Estrada and Fiers will be decent. The offense will be fine once Aramis and Hart come back. But the bullpen? Is there anyone in the pen that is trustworthy? Axford cannot find himself again if he keeps getting put in pressure situations. Axford is clearly in some sort of funk. Roenicke is not helping him by continuing to put him in important situations. I would say that Henderson is the best of a bad bunch and even then I say it reluctantly. Today should have not been a loss. Peralta pitched a heck of game and deserved the W. I hope a miracle happens and the bullpem starts being at least average. It sucks to feel sad about Brewers baseball in April.
  10. I agree that Weeks is nowhere near the top of the list of Brewer problems. I'm just concerned that his bad play continues. Yes he recovered somewhat at the end last year, but it was still a bad year. This season in the first week alone, he has made multiple blunders. I am a Weeks fan but I can't deny that he is the opposite of clutch. Maldonado has had more clutch at bats than Weeks lately. When is the last time Weeks hit a clutch single? I don't even care about the long ball. Just a clutch hit is all I ask for.
  11. I'm a Rickie Weeks fan. I wish he wasn't playing so bad, but he is. When was the last time he had a clutch at bat? Since last year I have watched him get punked by the fastball. He is either too late or he just doesn't swing at it. My post may have been at over the top, but no one can deny that he is not as good as he used to be. I would love to see Rickie of 2010 come back. That Rickie Weeks was a downright nasty hitter. If this new Weeks stays then I don't know what we're going to do with the 2B position.
  12. Wow what has happened to Rickie Weeks? He's just awful now. Can't hit, poor approach, bad baserunning, slow, poor defense. It's like the guy has fallen apart completely since his injury. He was killing it in 2009, 2010, and half of 2011. After that injury he has been awful. Do you guys think it is time to look for a replacement?
