  1. at some point they've got to get hot. there's no way they'll stay cold until the end of the season
  2. https://www.change.org/p/nfl-replace-roger-goodell-as-commissioner-of-the-nfl
  3. oh...my....god..... someone make it stop. i turned off the tv when the bot 8th ended. knew what was going to happen. anyone see the irony in casey mcgehee possibly dealing the KO blow to the Brewers? maybe someone pissed in jobu's cup and we're paying for it now....
  4. I'd be shocked if we won the division or got a WC spot now. I suppose anything is possible but the team would have go on a tear of historic proportions to get back in contention. it's weird cause im in a complete state of denial. i can't believe they were 16 above .500 and now they are barely above .500. i still can't accept that the season is about to end like this. no way. this team is long overdue for a hot streak though. you know how they get when they are. the streaks are violent both ways. either epic win streaks or epic losing streaks.
  5. Milwaukee has a roof, so it's hospitable to a cold weather team that plays its home games outdoors. But if that were the case cold weather teams with no domes would always open on the road and some would for a couple of weeks. I would have no problems with teams like Texas, Houston, Milwaukee, Seattle, both LA teams, Miami, Tampa, Atlanta etc. always opening at home because of the weather but that's not the reason we typically open at home and it's not the reason we've lately opened at home against either Atlanta or Colorado. why do we always open at home then? would be nice if the schedule would vary once in a while. when was the last time the brewers opened up on the west coast?
  6. my goodness baseball has been tough to watch the past few weeks. my favorite team has been horrendous. the other team i like to watch, the A's, have been awful as well. both these teams have dominated their divisions all year. one bad stretch is going to cost them division titles. somehow the brewers are still 6 to 1 to win the NL pennant. that's behind LA, WSH, and STL. Tied with the Giants. Don't know how the odds are still so good. this team should have had their odds drop to 20 to 1. vegas sports books are the only reason why i haven't thrown in the towel.
  7. with how pathetic they have been playing they deserve failure and humiliation. bunch of incompetent arrogant losers. lousy 3rd rate organization. the division was there for the taking. the cardinals literally said ''here take it, we don't want it''. can't believe this. swept by the garbage cubs? seriously??? RRR and his joke of a coaching staff shouldn't be allowed back on the plane. I'd tell him to walk back to Milwaukee just so I could fire hi[m]. i'm tired of seeing these guys swing at every pitch they see. this has to be most impatient team in baseball. want to beat the brewers? throw it low and away. they'll all swing and miss like clowns. no patience, low baseball IQ, poor managerial decisions, too much bunting, just terrible. they've wasted a good pitching year.
  8. this is terrible news. still can't believe it. 53 only? far too young. things like this are a reminder to never be on bad terms with family or close friends. you never know when your or their time comes.
  9. my sentiments exactly. let's not worry about the money. broxton is having a great year and is a major addition to the bullpen. this means less work for guys like will smith, zach duke, and even k-rod. a fresh and healthy bullpen to go along with a great rotation puts the brewers in a good spot. garza and lohse are nice and rested. just need the bats now to stop being so lame.
  10. davis putting on a defensive clinic. that's definitely how you read and play a ball off the wall.
  11. it might sound silly, but going by who is the hottest at the moment, Fiers would be my choice to start game 1 of the NLDS. he's red hot at the moment. if he stays like this by the time October comes round, it'd be hard to choose someone else.
  12. at my local casino the brewers are 3/1 to win the NL pennant and 8/1 to win the World Series. they have the 2nd shortest odds to win the NL pennant after the Dodgers who are 7/5 at my casino. after winning the season series, it would be logical to call the brewers the best in NL.
  13. love got to love the brewers. they can't figure out how to hit bums, but they bring their A game against the best. well it bodes well for the brewers if they survive the death race to the playoffs.
  14. I'm surprised. MLB Network barely covered the end of the game. They usually do live look-ins for the end of games, especially the late night ones. They just went straight into the day's highlights. I don't think they like it when the small town Brewers beat up the big money teams.....
  15. huge win for the brewers. losing to one of the NL's elite teams on the road late in the game and the brewers rally back for the win. that's a huge confidence booster. go all out tomorrow and clinch the series win.
  16. even though the stat isn't that important, it would still be pretty cool to see a brewer make headlines for something that doesn't happen too often. i think he can do it. 4 games against the Cubs and Pirates, teams that the Brewers own. 1 game against the Marlins. if he sweeps that puts him at 19. he would just need to find 1 more win against SF, STL, and Cin. tough but very possible.
  17. quite a turn around from the early 2000's when the Cubs used to dominate this series. it's turned into miller park south.
