  1. that was pretty disappointing. was really hoping steve cishek would end up a brewer. anyone ehre remember the ''great peavy'' sweepstakes of 2009? we were heavily linked to him and one point it looked like it was going to happen.
  2. this will be our downfall. our brilliant manager is going to flush this season down the toilet. damn shame too. i think this team was good enough to at least make it to the world series.
  3. this loss shouldn't even count. put this one in the RRR column. christ what an idiot he is. really man? you put wooten in the game at this stage?
  4. Agreed completely. I understand wanting to take advantage of matchups that benefit us, but not at the cost of having to have a bullpen pitcher come in when they really weren't needed to get the job done. I have a really good feeling that tonight's performance is going to be the start of a really nice run for the Brewers! We're going to hold on to win here, and beating Strasburg to kick off the second half will give this team the boost it needs. I agree. If the guy coming up is hitting .350 against Wooten, then I can understand taking him out. Baseball is a game of hot streaks and cold streaks. We were long overdue for a cold streak. We got it out of the way and now it's time for a long winning streak. I think a lot of bad things would have to happen for the Brewers to lose the division. Everyone in the division sucks except for St. Louis and they just lost Molina. We'll be fine.
  5. never understood the obsession managers have with bringing a RP just to face one guy. That's nitpicking at it's finest. Wooten got the out, why take him out? No wonder guys like Smith and K-Rod have logged so many innings.
  6. poor segura. feel bad for the guy. i don't know how he can focus on baseball with all that has happened. he's stronger than i am for sure.
  7. so much butt kissing for a guy that isn't as good as the media makes him out to be. according to espn jeter is the greatest of all-time. can't wait till he finally retires and this ridiculous show ends.
  8. This is terrible. I feel so bad for the guy. Maybe the Brewers should give him time off. The last thing he should be worrying about is baseball. But then again maybe baseball can be an escape outlet. I don't know. Poor guy.
  9. there are few things in sports more enjoyable than watching the brewers beat up the lards.
  10. I'd trust a veteran like Benoit before I gamble on a rookie like Jeffress. Taking a chance on Jeffress is something you do in a losing season. I think the Brewers should do the smart thing and pick up a clutch veteran RP. Will Smith, Joaquin Benoit, and K-Rod is an excellent trio.
  11. I think the Brewers should acquire a reliever. The rotation is fine and will get some help soon from the addition of Jimmy Nelson and the subtraction of Marco ''Home Run'' Estrada. There are no 1B worth trading for. Brewers would have to overpay to get someone good and I don't think 1B is that big of a problem that the Crew need to overpay. Might as well just go after a RP or 2. This would help keep our 2 best RP's in Will Smith and K-Rod fresh.
  12. brilliant move by the a's. they know that it's now or never for them. billy beane has been patient and has tried to win while collecting a ton of prospects. that move hasn't worked. i applaud him for having the balls to go and improve the roster immediately. this move could finally bring that world series title to oakland. that rotation is looking scary.
  13. wow that may be the moment of the season for garza. bases loaded with no one out and he gets out of the jam.
  14. hey garza it'd be nice if you didn't give everyone a heart attack for once.
  15. Would explain why Jose Oquendo was passed over for Matheny despite having years of experience as a coach and having spent more time with the Cards than Matheny.
  16. Yeah St. Louis is pretty similar to other rust belt cities like Detroit, Buffalo, Indy, etc. Like you said, they enjoy being that small-town team that plays with bravado and isn't afraid of the big dogs. I think they secretly like the Brewers bravado and fun antics. They probably wish their team wasn't so boring and snobby. They do have some cool fans though. The Cardinals guy that is always on here is cool.
  17. That's a little harsh. He gave up one run. And if Weeks had any range at all, he might have gotten to that ball (maybe). Not to mention the two botched DP's in the first inning that cost us a run. Hard to blame a guy for giving up one run and blaming the entire game on him. The last ball wasn't exactly drilled, just in the right spot. Though I do wonder why we didn't leave Smith in. He threw only 4-5 pitches and they had some lefties coming up. another brilliant decision by RRR. i hate it when managers bring in a reliever for a couple pitches. no wonder the bullpen is tired. this guy uses a 100 people every night. smith probably doesn't give up that lame @ss run.
  18. garza's had a good game. let's not push our luck and leave him in too long.
  19. Long overdue. This is the Garza that the Brewers paid for. Hopefully he keeps it up.
  20. If Lucroy played for a big market team everyone on tv would be kissing his butt. He barely gets any respect because he plays in Milwaukee. It's a damn shame too because Lucroy is such a great player. A catcher's main responsibilities are on the defensive side of the game. Lucroy handles those responsibilities very well. When you add into the equation that he can hit at an MVP level, it makes it all the more impressive. Molina is better defensively. In fact I think he's tied with Pudge Rodriguez for best defensive catcher over the last 25 years. However, I think Lucroy beats him when it comes to hitting. Luc and Gomez are this team's 2 best players by far. If Braun goes back to being Braun, then that's 3 MVP level players the Brewers will have in their lineup.
  21. haha that's great. oh oh those rude low-class brewers are at it again. lol
