  1. I've seen it a lot from Santana, frankly. Bill Hall was notorious for a little walk down the first base line as he admired what he thought was a HR before having to sprint just to get to 2nd. Why don't these guys freaking hustle? These are, presumably, some of the best athletes in the country. Is it really that difficult to sprint 90 feet, 2 or 3 times a day? I excuse refraining from hustle when t prevents major injury. If somebody is off the DL or day to day, many players are probably told not to overdo it. I don't know how many times we end up injuring a player's hamstring on an ill advised hustle out of the box or some aggresive play on the basepaths. There were a ton of hamstring injuries in MLB last year, mostly occurring on the basepaths during a sprint. Players are best advised to know their limits and act accordingly. The old adage of always hustling isn't really wise these days.
  2. Agreed. Its not like someone couldnt borrow an ID or address from a friend if they absolutely had to. Even so, tickets are not hard to come by. Deals for toise in the 5 county area or WI residents is not a new idea. Most of all, it backfires for Brewer fans out of state trying to plan ahead for a trip. If you live in WI, there is little reason to buy ahead.
  3. I think its telling enough that nobody suggests actually staying in Maryvale while visiting. Its an area known for its urban decline and past crime. Sure, it may not be as bad as the '80s. Why sugar coat it? Maybe south side Milwaukee bad, but not as bad as the ghetto north side?
  4. I agree with the lighting complaints. They aren't ideal, and they oftem seem dim. Fteddie can obviously function in minor league conditions, but its not dumb to point out substandard conditions. The ribbon boards can be annoying, but I bet specially for players. The fireworks are just hokey, and leave a smoke fog afterward when the roof is closed. The back windows have been complained about in day games.
  5. They win a game that they probably should have lost on an anemic hitting day. Lucky, Atlanta is also a lousy team this year.
  6. Pitching allowing 20 hits. Overall, this team lacked any reasonable effort.
  7. Most likely, its the shortened recovery time and reduced fatigue that helps these players better able to concentrate on pitches at the plate. Optimal health leads to optimal performance.
  8. Right now, I'm happy to see a guy who is basically a hybrid between Carlos Gomez and Yuni Betancourt pass up an extension.
  9. Davies, knowing his bad history in April more than anyone, should have been well prepared for this. Can't blame the weather.
  10. Davies should be fresh in April. By August/ Sept, is when he should be fatigued and losing his stuff.
  11. Frankly, "go cubs go" is not worth banning a bar over. Call me weird, but I go to bars for good drinks, food, and service. Others go for cheap drinks and food. I havent been in over a decade, but I hear the food has improved a bunch in the past year, drinks cheap, bathroom pristine, free pool on sunday, and a good shuttle to the game. Frankly, the pros of the updates outweigh any past negatives.
  12. This offense is embarrasing. Broxton is back to looking horrible.
  13. Yep, a couple batters homer and Anderson is done. This one is over.
  14. To hell with Texas, sending out Lucroy and Jeffress is awesome.
  15. More idiotic work on the basepaths. Cost them a run too. Never ends.
  16. Honestly, would any new team report that they are having "unproductive conversations" at this point? I don't buy it until I hear some numbers and names.
  17. A non playoff team doesnt need him for this year. They have luxury of waiting if they want. They might only if they offer a long term deal.
  18. Lucroy had most of the AL Central on his veto list. I see this as no great surprise. He really didn't want to be stuck with Cleveland in this situation. Going to the AL midseason with all new pitchers and batters to figure out can be a rough proposition for a catcher. Sometimes working environment trumps total cash and even winning. I think its great, though I hated the deal from the get go. Lucroy deserved some say for all he's done for Milwaukee.
  19. I hope that we never see these uniforms again. They just scream losing and irrelevance. With Lucroy likely gone, wins against the Pirates will be rare.
  20. A qualiry start against Arizona is as mediocre as it gets this year. Im sure a team looking to contend needs to acquire someone a bit more impressive.
  21. Just a shameful effort for a little league team. Getting really sick of the lack of effort and intelligence of this club.
