  1. Hudson Belinsky‏Verified account @hudsonbelinsky 25s26 seconds ago #Brewers 14th rder Gage Workman reclassified late to become eligible for 2017; won't turn 18 until October. Arizona State commit. #mlbdraft
  2. Christopher Crawford‏Verified account @Crawford_MILB 26s26 seconds ago Brewers 12th rounder Je'Von Ward is one of the younger players in the class, and he shows plus speed and raw power from the left side. Basha High School shortstop Gage Workman, a long-limbed and very projectable 6-foot-3, is also of interest to scouts. He, too, is committed to Arizona State. Workman was originally slated to graduate in 2018 but reclassified as a 2017 draft in the fall. He’s unpolished (and projects to third base) but has big raw power projection and has already shown quite a bit. (He hit a ball out of Tempe Diablo Stadium yesterday that he didn’t really square up.) Workman is Mormon and reclassified, not just so he’d be young for his class in the upcoming draft, but because, if he doesn’t sign, he’s going to do two years of missionary work after his freshman year at ASU.

  6. Kyle Glaser‏Verified account @KyleAGlaser 47s48 seconds ago #Brewers grab OF Je'Von Ward. Nephew of NFL great Mark Carrier, son of former Notre Dame WR Reggie Ward. Super, super raw Brian Sakowski‏ @B_Sakowski_PG 47s48 seconds ago #Brewers take Jevon Carrier-Ward; prep OF from SoCal. Tools are there, really fast hands, potential corner OF/pop profile jeff ellis‏ @jeffMLBdraft 1m1 minute ago Je'Von Ward is another bigger name guy taken this round , good athlete with size and projection but would be a harder sign
  7. MLB Draft Tracker‏Verified account @MLBDraftTracker 10s11 seconds ago 12 (354): @Brewers select Gahr HS CF Je'Von Ward. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/210960834/v1463801783 … #MLBDraft Long known to area scouts in Southern California for his multiple tools, Ward jumped onto bigger radar screens with a strong performance in this year's Boras Classic. He's not a slam-dunk early-round choice, as some don't necessarily see him translating those tools into consistent production, but he's shown enough to warrant some top six round consideration. Ward's best now tool is his speed and he's been recorded with 4.1-second times out of the left-handed batter's box to first base this spring. That speed should allow him to be a threat on the bases as well as cover a ground in the outfield. He has some skills at the plate and makes hard contact when he stays behind the ball. There is a ton of raw power which shows up in BP, but not yet consistently in games. With enough arm and instincts, he has the chance to stay in center long-term, unless he fills out his 6-foot-5 frame too much, in which case he could fit a corner outfield profile from a power perspective just fine. While opinions of Ward varied, there are some who feel he's the type of player who could exceed projections. A Southern Cal commit, some see an Adam Jones body type, with production to potentially follow.
  8. Tom‏ @Haudricourt 4m4 minutes ago Pretty good walk-strikeout ratio for #Brewers 11th round pick Max Lazar in senior year at Coral Springs HS: 6 BB, 107K in 63.2 IP.
  9. Nathan Rode‏ @NathanRode 1m1 minute ago RHP Max Lazar was a riser this spring. Pounds the zone with 88-91. Projectable SL. #Brewers #mlbdraft
  10. MLB Draft Tracker‏Verified account @MLBDraftTracker 9s9 seconds ago 11 (324): @Brewers select Coral Springs HS RHP Max Lazar. https://www.mlb.com/draft/tracker/brewers … #MLBDraft
  11. MLB Draft Tracker‏Verified account @MLBDraftTracker 8s9 seconds ago 6 (174): @Brewers select Louisville SS Devin Hairston. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/210960834/v1452382083 … #MLBDraft Though he has been one of the best players on one of college baseball's best teams this spring, Hairston creates mixed opinions among scouts. Those who like him think he could go as high as the third round and envision him as a big league utilityman and perhaps even a regular if he hits enough. Those who don't worry about his lack of size and speed and can't find a profile he fits. A versatile defender who can play anywhere in the infield, Hairston committed just two errors in his first 58 games this spring. He doesn't have great range at shortstop and his arm hasn't bounced all the way back since surgery to transpose a nerve in his elbow during the fall, yet he still finds a way to make plays. He likely will fit better at second base in pro ball, though his instincts are exceptional and his proponents won't bet against him being able to handle shortstop. Hairston occasionally can turn on balls, but at 5-foot-7 and 170 pounds he knows he won't be a power hitter. He concentrates on making contact from the right side of the plate and has good bat-on-ball skills. He doesn't walk much and he's a below-average runner, so he'll contribute little offensively beyond his batting average. jeff ellis‏ @jeffMLBdraft 40s40 seconds ago Devin Hairston is Nick Allen sized, another utility type in this draft. Another of my top 101 down to 11 left Aaron Fitt‏Verified account @aaronfitt 1m1 minute ago And Devin Hairston goes one pick after Dalton Guthrie — similar kind of guys. Winners, defense-first guys. #Brewers
  12. Frankie Piliere‏Verified account @FPiliereD1 8s8 seconds ago #Brewers take Nick Egnatuk. I thought after last summer he would be a top 50 pick. Tall, athletic, big time power potential. Excellent pick Christopher Crawford‏Verified account @Crawford_MILB 32s33 seconds ago Brewers pick Egnatuk has "big man who needs a big cereal" power. Only plus tool, but it's a good plus tool to have. Nathan Rode‏ @NathanRode 21s22 seconds ago Nathan Rode Retweeted Frankie Piliere Really struggled offensively this spring. Upside for sure. Just has to find it again.
  13. MLB Draft Tracker‏Verified account @MLBDraftTracker 29s29 seconds ago More 5 (144): @Brewers select Immaculata HS 3B Nick Egnatuk. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/210960834/v1479700983 … #MLBDraft
  14. Nathan Rode‏ @NathanRode 32s32 seconds ago LHP Brendan Murphy is No. 70 on the #PBRDraft100. Brian Sakowski‏ @B_Sakowski_PG 48s48 seconds ago #Brewers select Brendan Murphy, prep LHP. Advanced CH that will be plus; mostly 88-93 mph this spring. We ran him up on #PGDraft500
  15. Christopher Crawford‏Verified account @Crawford_MILB 9s10 seconds ago Really like the Brendan Murphy pick for the Brewers. Left-hander with a plus fastball and change possibly, gaining feel for slider.
  16. Milwaukee Brewers‏Verified account @Brewers 1m1 minute ago More #Brewers have selected the contract of RHP Brandon Woodruff (@B_Woody24) from Triple-A @skysox. Makes @MLB debut today in Game 1. #MILatSTL Milwaukee Brewers‏Verified account @Brewers 2m2 minutes ago More RHP Rob Scahill has been designated for assignment.
  17. So do we think this will be underslot?
  18. Jim Callis‏Verified account @jimcallisMLB 1m1 minute ago More So top 6 likely (in order): Lewis, Greene, Gore, McKay, Wright, Hiura ... letting the rest of my 1st-rd projection stand! @MLBDraft
  19. BBA posted their final mock, has the Brewers taking Peterson
  20. Final Mock from Scout and Tyler Blake Ward. http://www.scout.com/mlb/scouting/story/1784270-2017-mlb-draft-mock-draft-3 9. Milwaukee Brewers - Jo Adell, OF, Ballard HS (KY). I am going with the information out there, even though this pick is odd to me. First off, it would be a team drafting an outfielder for the third straight year and second, Adell is about as different as one can get from Ray and Clark. I understand the logic, as no one outside of Greene has a higher ceiling in this class. 34. Milwaukee Brewers - Luis Campusano, C, Cross Creek HS (GA) The Brewers have a ton of talent in their minors. They nearly had the best catching prospect in baseball, but Jonathan Lucroy vetoed that trade. So here they can grab the top catcher in the class, who would instantly become their top catching prospect by far. 46. Milwaukee Brewers - Seth Romero, LHP, Houston Brewers rolled the dice on Lucas Erceg last year, after his problems and being kicked off his team. They have three picks in the top 50 and can roll the dice on Romero who, without the character issues, would have been a top ten player.
  21. Jesse Marlo‏ @Jmarlo22 Jun 9 More Thank you @Brewers for your hospitality at Miller Park. @seise_23 and I enjoyed our time there! @WObaseball Chris Seise | Rank: 38 School: West Orange (Fla.) HS Year: Senior Position: SS Age: 18 DOB: 01/06/1999 Bats: R Throws: R Height: 6' 2'' Weight: 175 lb. Commitment: Central Florida Watch Scouting grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 45 | Run: 65 | Arm: 60 | Field: 50 | Overall: 50 In 2012, Anthony Seise was a left-handed pitcher taken in the 20th round out of West Orange High School in Florida. Five years later, it's his younger brother's turn, and with a very strong spring performance, he not only will easily beat his brother's Draft status, but he has become one of the best high school shortstops coming out of the state this season. Scouts have always liked Seise's size, with a 6-foot-2 frame that looked like it could handle more good weight. He's put on 15 pounds and it's started to show up in his performance at the plate. His swing can still get a little long, but he's making more hard contact consistently and showing good opposite-field power. He runs a 6.45 60, utilizing that speed on the basepaths and to cover plenty of ground at shortstop, where his plus arm also plays well. Overall, he's an average defender who should be able to stay up the middle long-term. Seise's added strength has allowed his bat to start to catch up to his other tools, which has greatly increased his Draft stock. Seeing the University of Central Florida commit come off the board in the top three rounds now seems like a certainty. Prospect Development Pipeline - Tampa, Fla. Looks like stuff is starting to come out about who visited.
  22. Taylor Blake Ward at Scout just put out his 2-round mock 9. Milwaukee Brewers - D.L. Hall, LHP, Valdosta HS (GA) The deals are beginning to shake up the draft, and beyond the fifth pick, things are going to get tricky. Milwaukee took long looks at Jordon Adell, Beck, and Hall. With three picks within the first 50, Milwaukee is looking to attain the biggest talent pool out of the draft, even if it means going a few picks underslot. Don't sleep on any Adell rumors with Milwaukee. 34. Milwaukee Brewers - Tristan Beck, RHP, Stanford Although he hasn't pitched this year, Beck - a draft-eligible sophomore - was a top-10 pitcher before a back injury took him out for the year. Milwaukee drafted Beck out of Corona, even with the knowledge that he'd pass and head for Stanford. The relationship stuck for a lengthy time, and it sounds like they're ready to try and lure him away from a junior year at Stanford again, where his brother will be, but Mark Marquess will not be. 46. Milwaukee Brewers - Steven Jennings, RHP, Dekalb County HS (TN) They already got their tooled up outfielder and best available college pitcher in this draft already. Time to take a risk at the next best available player who's athletic.
  23. New MLB Pipeline Mock from Callis 9. Brewers: Jordon Adell, OF, Ballard HS (Louisville, Ky.) Adell has exciting tools but scares some teams with his swing-and-miss issues, so he could realistically go here or drop into the 20s. Milwaukee seems to be pursuing mainly high schoolers with him, Beck, Georgia left-hander D.L. Hall and New Mexico southpaw Trevor Rogers.
