  1. Looks like that's it. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/roster/transactions
  2. Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB · 2m Chase Bentley signs w/ @Brewers for $757,500 ($607,500 counts vs pool), new @MLBDraft record for 19th rd. Florida prep RHP, low-90s fastball, impressive fade on changeup. Texas A&M recruit.
  3. David Gasper @dgasper24 · 21s Brewers 16th round pick Parker Coil will return to Arkansas and not sign
  4. Alex “Juicy” Jensen @jensen_juicy · 8m 68. Frank Cairone, @Brewers - A I loved this pick and fit. IMO, this was one of the highest ceiling arms in the prep class. Cairone stands out for his projection given his age, ability to spin the ball and recent jumps in power. It's a loose delivery from a low slot that produces some pretty nutty movement. Cairone sits low 90's but has reached 95 and it plays up due to a low release height, plus or better IVB, and intense 7'0 extension. I see this as an easy plus pitch projection. Arguably the most impressive pitch is his slider, which is often above 3000 RPM and will sit close to 2900 with extreme movement made more extreme by the low release. Cairone will mix in a solid cutter that has potential to tunnel extremely well with his FB/SL mix and could be devastating if he hones it right. The pitch also shows plus plus spin rates. Cairone has also flashed a nascent CH that could be tricky to max out from his arm angle. Cairone has a clean delivery, repeats well and generally throws strikes. He projects as having average or better command. I do have two areas of minor concerns, one is durability, Cairone's stuff has dipped later in games as he shows fatigue and he was a late spring stuff jump from a cold-weather state. He will need to prove he can hold the stuff later into starts and across more starts. He projects to do so, but it still needs to proven. To allow his stuff to tunnel as well as it can, Cairone needs to add consistency to his release height and extension between offerings. Again, just 17, he projects to do so and this is an area the Brewers have shined, but it's still a caveat. I saw a lot of poo-pooing of this pick at the draft, which made it clear most people just hadn't watched Cairone pitch. This is a potentially more dynamic version of the Jamie Arnold skillset that's about as clean of a player dev fit as you will find. I think there is a world where this time next year, Cairone Is throwing strikes with 3 plus pitches, from a funky slot as an 18-year-old and his fallback is a dynamic pen arm. How is that not a huge win at 68??
  5. Alex “Juicy” Jensen @jensen_juicy · 21h 20. Andrew Fischer, @Brewers - A The Brew crew are often the "what I would do as a GM" team and they got another one of "my guys" here. I do think Fischer ultimately plays 1B/LF not 3B...that's fine. I feel extremely confident in the game power. If you told me I had to pick one guy in this class to hit 25+ HR in a year, but he has to hit enough to earn the AB, this is my pick. I think Fischer is a good not great hitter, akin to Ike Irish the pick before, but I think his power is a tick above that and plays above it's raw power due to the launch angles he consistently puts out. Guys like Burke, Bitonti, Wilkes, Adams...I personally have below Fischer because I trust Fischer's hit tool significantly more. I think this was good value and fit and I really like the bat in a class where I tend to be lower than most on the college guys. Alex “Juicy” Jensen @jensen_juicy 32. Brady Ebel, @Brewers - A I find myself a lot higher on Ebel than most. I'm a huge swing mechanics enthusiast in preps and Ebel has one of the cleaner set ups and paths in the class. It's a particularly smooth stroke with no wasted motion and a bat path that should lead to consistent hard line drives with more sweet spot angles than most. As an athlete, Ebel is more advanced than he is freakish, but he looks worse by proxy of playing next to one of the best prep defenders I've ever seen. I think Ebel can play some SS but would be plenty functional at 3B/2B and could play some OF. Overall, I see a potential 60 hit bat who should have 50 power at maturity in his 6'3 frame and potential for a bit more if he chooses to swing a bit more for impact. I'm more than happy to take that at pick 32. I see somewhere between a poor mans Colt Emerson or a rich man's JD Dix (who I also loved).
  6. UCLA Baseball @UCLABaseball · Jul 8 Congratulations to future Bruin Dominic Cadiz ( @Dominic01247872 ) who was named to the @WCLBaseball All-Star team today! Take a look at his numbers this summer .404 AVG (League-high) .724 SLG 7 HR 24 RBI 9 2B (League-high) #GoBruins PREP BASEBALL CALIFORNIA @PrepBaseballCA · Apr 8 ‘25 INF Dominic Cadiz of Notre Dame #UCLA commit went 2/4 with a deep shot off the wall in LF. Cadiz gets his hands to the zone early and maintains a level swing through the zone. He displayed his ability to get extension through the ball and drive the ball with some pop.
  7. Tad Slowik @TadSlowik_DBA · Jul 11 Brendan Brock C/OF Southwestern Illinois. Draws big comparisons to former major leaguer Jayson Werth. Super athletic. Defensive skills for frontline C or OF. Barrels up balls consistently with power. Projects above average ML Player. Committed to Oklahoma ⁦ @BlueStormBSB Tad Slowik @TadSlowik_DBA · May 14 Brendan Brock C for Southwestern Illinois (Oklahoma commit) frames a strike during a JUCO.Midwest District Game. Brock is a super athlete that makes the game look easy. Plus defensive skills who is one of the top hitters in JUCO Baseball Next level ability. ⁦ @BlueStormBSB
  8. A redshirt sophomore, Brock slashed .462/.565/.870 and ranked third among national junior college players in hiting, on-base percentage and OPS (1.435) and fourth in slugging. He also was the only 20-20 player at that level, going deep 20 times and swiping 27 bases. He has plus-plus speed, rare for a catcher, and may be able to stay behind the plate. If he can't, he's quick enough to handle center field. He'll transfer to Oklahoma if he doesn't turn pro.
  9. At 6-foot-5, Lauridsen is the prototypical projectable high school right-hander. He’s very athletic on the mound and gets high marks for his makeup, not to mention what his future stuff could be. He’s committed to Southern Cal for college, but teams could bite on his upside to sign him away from school, thanks to a sinking fastball that touches 95-96 mph and the potential to have a very good changeup and two distinct breaking pitches.
  10. Joe Doyle @JoeDoyleMiLB · 32m SS CJ Hughes to the Milwaukee Brewers in the 11th is great. Had a fourth round grade. One of the better bets to stick at the shortstop position in the class and super young.
  11. Caedmon Parker @caedmon_parker ·12h couldn’t get rid of the purple just yet. “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” 1 Chronicles 16:34 Looks like the 11th rounder won't be signing.
  12. Carlos Collazo @CarlosACollazo 11m The #Brewers signed supplemental first rounder Blake Burke for $2,100,000. Slot value for the 34th pick is $2,698,300.
