Tom‏ @Haudricourt 2h2 hours ago Just to clarify on Josh Pennington. He is throwing bullpens in extended spring, not games yet. So still a ways off from assignment.

From Baseball America.... Yeison Coca, ss Age: 18 Coca was signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2015 and was lauded for his all-around tool package, including skills that will allow him to stay in the middle of the diamond for the long-term. Scouts who have seen him this year in extended spring training note that Coca has a plus arm and is a plus runner, both ingredients to keep him at shortstop as he develops. His bat speed is decent and he gets OK leverage, which should translate to a bit of power as he grows into his frame, and his nine triples last season tied him for second in the DSL. He’s a lottery ticket right now, but more like a scratch-off than a potential jackpot in the making.

Adam McCalvy‏Verified account @AdamMcCalvy 2m2 minutes ago Swapped emails with our prospect gurus, who have Coca just outside Brewers Top 30. If/when prospects graduate from list, he's likely to join

Alex Speier‏ @alexspeier Coca is well-regarded, albeit years from big lgs -- a potential everyday middle infielder w/potential to hit for avg, 2Bs power, good glove.

Honorable mention in top 15 prospect list via Fangraphs http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/top-15-prospects-boston-red-sox-2/ Yeison Coca, SS – I’m not sure there’s an adult-sized jersey that will fit Coca, who was drowning in his instructional-league garb last fall. It’s a good baseball body, though, and there’s some bat speed, but Coca’s swings from both sides of the plate need polish that could come with increased physicality. He has good defensive footwork and actions, is twitchy and athletic, and should fit at shortstop provided he grows into a little bit more arm strength. Alex Speier‏ @alexspeier 1m1 minute ago With Dubon out of the org, I had Coca as the Sox' second-best middle-infield prospect, behind only C.J. Chatham.

MLB Pipeline had a new mock today with a new name. One I'd be all for. 9. Brewers: Alex Faedo, RHP, Florida The Brewers have largely been associated with toolsy high schoolers like Beck or Jo Adell, but Faedo, Florida's Friday night starter, is in the mix as well.

If that is the case AndThat, who would you want them to target at #34 with the savings?
  21. JDBrewCrew
Won't happen but I'd take that deal.

Anyone have any updates on him? Sorry if I missed something. Thanks.
  23. JDBrewCrew
MILB.com shows he's on Carolina's roster currently. They have completed 43 games. He was suspended for 50. Does this definitely mean he will be back? Has anyone heard anything? Am I looking at this the right way? Thanks

Looks like more info on probable Brewer signings Larry Ernesto and Carlos Rodriguez. Hopefully says good things. It's behind a paywall so I can't read it. http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/international-prospects-know-july-2a/#5lSsuyQrXXEJ6XQk.97
