  1. Losing Hall just increases the concern I have about the state of the Brewers pitching staff heading into the Cubs series and the 10 more days without an off day that follow it. While winning the Brewers have had a lot of short starts recently and using almost the whole bullpen last night doesn't help.
  2. This is a nightmare start to the 19 games in 18 days. Burn out half the staff on day one.
  3. I think the legend of Misioroski can be put on hold. He has exceptional stuff but is still raw.
  4. Misioroski would probably have been better off on a minor league rehab start. Now he’s going to be using up a roster spot when they’re going to need pitchers who can burn up innings.
  5. Misioroski probably would have been better off on a minor league rehab.
  6. Frelick has been dealing with a knee issue for quite awhile since surgery two years ago. His recent absence was just a recurrence of that.
  7. I think one of the reasons they had Chourio in center was because Frelick has been dealing with a sore knee. When Chourio comes back, it could come down to who they think is at more risk from more running. Of course, Perkins will get some playing time too. Then again someone might get injured or reinjured and this will never become an issue.
  8. This is how I look at it today. This next week could be the most pivotal of the season. From the Cubs perspective they have to think they can sweep the Pirates, especially as they won’t be facing Skenes or Keller They can hope the Reds, who are fighting for a playoff spot, can knock off the Brewers a couple of times. Then they have a chance to make a major move by winning 4 or 5 against the Brewers. If the Brewers are still ahead by 7 or 8 games after the Cubs series they will be looking good. If the Cubs cut it to 4 or 5 or less the battle will really be on.
  9. The Cubs now play in Toronto tonight and tomorrow to determine if they will be seven, eight, or nine games behind the Brewers going into the weekend.
  10. Just so everyone knows, they won’t be available for a couple,of days. They will be announcing tomorrow how it will work.
  11. Brewers offense better have an answer or this is going to be a pretty discouraging loss heading into the toughest three weeks of the season.
  12. On Woodruff I’m hoping that it’s just that he had to throw a lot of high stress pitches in the first four innings and not that he tweaked something covering first.
  13. A lot of Brewers fans have been talking about how they never seen a stretch like the Brewers are having now. But these last month or so is reminding me of 2011 when the Brewers were 54-49 and tied for first place on July 24 and then won 27 of their next 32 to open up a 10 game lead which they rode to the division title. One difference there was that the losses were more spaced out and the team's longest winning streak was 7 games.
  14. 9-0 this year with 3 games left on our weekend 12 pack. Our best move was exchanging the Saturday game against the Cubs in May (we don't go to Cubs games) for the Monday night game of the Dodgers series. We have had a 10 pack (now 12 pack) since 2007 with some good years and some bad years, including some bad years when the Brewers have good seasons.
  15. Don’t see how that’s talking out of the other side of his mouth. He’s reporting on a fact. The final verdict on deadline moves, and opinions expressed about them, won’t be delivered until the end of the season.
  16. Arnold said that they are discussing whether Misioroski should go on a rehab start? Should I expect that they are going to set him up,to pitch a game in the Cubs series.
  17. Durbin is a graduate of the Coach Ernie Pantusso School of Hitting. 2 HBP tonight and 17 for the season. Coach’s attitude was “Go ahead. Try and miss me” Cheers.
  18. I have a similar feeling going into this series to the one I had going into the Marlins series. Obviously the Pirates haven’t been as good as the Marlins were at that time. But the Pirates have played the Brewers tough so far and seem to be less anemic at the plate against the Brewers than their league average. Throw in facing Skenes and Kelly and these look like tough games.. The Bucs have been very schizophrenic at times. They have series where they score runs in buckets and sweep and follow that up with getting swept while barely scoring any runs As long as they have Reynolds, they can’t be taken lightly. He loves facing the Brewers .
