  1. Tlhis is the box they are in. If they try to push Miz and Harrison out every fifth day they are increasing the likelihood that they will be worn down and ineffective later in the season.
  2. How many guys that we expected to be on the Opening Day pitching roster are currently on the IL. I count Woodruff, Priester, Henderson, Koenig, Zerpa, and Hall
  3. Crow was exhibit A and Sproat is Exhibit B showing why I have a feeling that the Brewers are headed for a rough couple of weeks.. I don’t want to think about what it will be like if Misiorowski and/or Harrison have bad outings.
  4. This is the bigger concern for me in the short term. If Henderson, Woodruff, and Koenig can all come back reasonably soon and be effective, that would help a lot. I assume Hall is going on the IL, and hopefully it won’t be a long term stay. But given the nature of the injury and his injury history I’m not expecting a short stint. I also expect nothing from Priester and won’t be surprised if he ends up having surgery with the hope of being ready to go full speed for spring training next year. Maybe Anderson can avoid the ILbut you don’t want to go to Coors Field without a full complement of relievers.
  5. I would say 3 with an emphasis on “as currently constructed”. But I am also skeptical that the Brewers will make any significant changes to improve the offense. That skepticism extends to getting significant help from current farmhands. The 33 runs scored the last 4 days will bump up the RPG for the season, but I still see the offense that scored just 4.15 RPG in May (just 10th best in the NL). My more immediate question is not whether the offense is good enough to win the WS, but whether it’s good enough to win games if the pitching falls off from its spectacular May.
  6. Not just trailing by 3, but trailing by 3 with 2 men on base and having to bring in a new pitcher because of an injury. Woodford was already throwing. Bringing in Ashby, Uribe, or Megill would have required them to warm up from a cold start. That’s a recipe for another injury when a pitcher has to alter his normal warmup routine. The Brewers chances of winning that game were pretty low when they fell behind 6-1 in the third inning. Their late rally was a result if the Giants trying to get through without their best pitchers
  7. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Not at all what he’s saying.
  8. Here comes another blow to the pitching depth.
  9. This is the first time this season the Brewers have had a whole week without an off day. They’re pitching depth is going to be tested like it hasn’t before The pitching bailed out the mediocre offense in May. We’ll see if they can keep it up.
  10. Welcome to life with no off days and only two reliable starting pitchers
  11. As compared to whom did he have weak contact? His grounder to the right side in the 9th was the 5th hardest hit ball the Brewers had all night. Based on tonight you should be calling for Contreras to be benched because he was 0 for 4 with even weaker contact galore.
  12. I assume Murphy had Vaughn batting second because he was essentially replacing Chourio and he didn’t want to shuffle around the rest of the batting order. Ideally, Vaughn would be batting 6th behind Bauers.
  13. At least Vaughn hit the ball sharply in the ninth taking a shot at right field. He advanced the runner and could just as easily have found a hole. If you’re going to rag on Vaughn’ for how he looked tonight you should be ragging on just about the whole lineup, including Contreras who has done virtually nothing for a week.
  14. That hurts to lose that one and now have to face two more day,s with scrub SP and Patrick unavailable.
  15. I might have preferred Hamilton against a lefty with control issues instead of a slumping DP threat
  16. Gasser can only get away with those 90 MPH fast balls for so long
  17. No hitter alert. No base runners and only 1 hard hit ball
  18. Gasser messed up that play and now he’s in trouble.
  19. My picture is fine but the Brewers hitters have looked pretty sad.
  20. Not a great matchup for the Brewers. Webb hasn’t been good this year, but this is just his second start after coming off the IL and in his first one against the Rockies he only gave up 1 run in 4.1 innings. Maybe the IL stint cleared things up for him
  21. Megill probably used up more energy warming up than mopping up the ninth inning.
  22. When it comes to baseball I’m a disciple of Mr. Applegate (the devil) from “Damn Yankees”. “Never feel sorry for anybody.”
  23. If he was fully heated and ready to go you might as well bring him in.
