  1. Yea he would. Wasn’t he traded for Webb, who made like a handful of appearances out of the pen?
  2. Was late getting home but had it DVR’d. Pretty good start for Jimmy all things considered. This ump has a gigantic strike zone, well, sometimes....
  3. Exactly, Burnes should be closing or down below stretched, working on his pitches. Sorry folks, he’s high leverage or nothing. I’m past the point of knowing if you’re joking, but if he can only perform in high leverage, then he’s not a professional baseball player. He needs to go down and get it figured out.
  4. Likely a mistake from a copy editor at the Press Gazette. They are owned by the same company, but have different layout and production staffs. The same story appeared in the MJS under a different headline. Sorry ... past life as a beat writer, so it irks me when people rip on journalists unfairly. Plenty of make mistakes and deserve it, but not this time. Since this company bought out the Press Gazette it’s been straight down hill. They barely cover any high school sports at all. The article talks about the other pitchers, just the headline that’s wrong. If it’s not his mistake it sucks that his name is the one plastered right next to it.
  5. He either wrote a story about a game he didn’t watch, or they posted a random AP story that was written by someone who didn’t watch the game. Even looking at the box score would give them the correct info.
  6. I feel like MLB takes a back seat to other major sports in journalism coverage. It seems it’s more important to post hot takes on Twitter than truly cover the games. Even the recaps online are about half the length they used to be. Today’s Green Bay Press Gazette sports front page headline: “Zach Davies goes the distance at right time for Brewers.” Picture of Davies with the caption: Brewers starter Zach Davies pitched a complete game on Sunday.” Really Haudricourt???? Are there any good baseball writers left? If so, guessing they are older. Seems like that’s society today though I guess.
  7. So Shaw is pitching out of the pen? I would guess CC had absolutely nothing to do with this...
  8. I really doubt the manager gives red light green light during individual ABs during the year. Maybe very rare occasions, but they aren’t micro managing.
  9. What is the message sent to Keston? What else does he need to do to get to the bigs? Defense/footwork That would be the narritive. I think it’s all a moot point now, as he’s most likely not going anywhere.
  10. If so makes the Shaw transaction simple for a few more weeks. We are currently repping three catchers on the roster. That alone tells me they are swapping Nottingham for Shaw. There is no reason we would go a pitcher short right now to keep someone who won’t be used at all (Nottingham) unless we plan on sending him down in a day or two anyway. Shaw for Moose RP for Nottingham I was assuming Nottingham for pitcher was coming anyways.
  11. I know, I say this every time but Shaw has 2 options left. Taking him off the IL to a demotion is not giving up on him. It's giving him time to get right. He has to be over the service time doesn’t he?
  12. I’ve considered it before. I really wanted the Brewers to break the bank for Yu Darvish. I was certain Arcia was going to have a breakout, all-star season last year.
