  1. Jordan McCabe transferring from West Virginia. Could fill a Trevor Anderson type role, but doesn’t help the lack of athleticism.
  2. Rough outing for Topa today sure came at a bad time. Hopefully he can get a couple clean appearances yet this week.
  3. I would be really curious to see the actual details of the contract. At $6 million it's a drastic overpay for King, but the ESPN story says "up to" $6 million. I'm guessing it's about a $2 million dollar contract with signing bonus and incentives to make the max potentially $6 million. That's a lot easier to stomach at a position that we needed depth at. They still probably need to add at least 1 and probably 2 more CB either in the draft or free agency.
  4. So what would be your solution if you were running the team? He said his solution was to trade Taylor to a team that will give him a shot. The problem is that Taylor's trade value is probably pretty low. I'm sure much lower than the value of actually having 5 useful outfielders within the organization in a year in which depth will be vital. Trading Taylor may be best for him, but surely not best for the team.
  5. It's crazy that people are mad at having decent players on the fringe of the roster. I feel like depth will be more important this year than ever before. You don't trade away your 5th outfielder just so he can get more playing time on a different team. If he's playing well he will get enough AB this year. Teams don't make it through full seasons using only 4 OF'ers. To say Cain will deliver no value is extremely negative. His defense alone will probably get him to a positive WAR. He just went through a season with literally no wear and tear on his body. At his age, that might actually be a good thing. He's well rested :-). He looked pretty good in the 6 or so games he played last year, and so far in spring, he hasn't shown any signs of falling off a cliff.
  6. My guess: C - Narvaes, Pina INF - Acria, Hiura, Shaw, Urias, Wong, Robertson, Voglebach OF - Cain, Yelich, Bradley, Garcia, Taylor P (12) Woodruff, Burnes, Houser, Peralta, Anderson, Lindbloom Hader, Williams, Rasmussen, Suter, Yardley, Topa IL - Black and Wahl With essentially 6 starter type arms and two "long" guys in Rasmussen and Suter you don't need 13 pitchers the first week. Feyereisen has thrown really well, but he will start down, but still probably get plenty of time this year. Could do the same thing with Taylor in order to keep McKinney and it wouldn't surprise me. Just feel like Taylor has done enough to earn a spot.
  7. Average for CB at the 2020 combine was 7.01 seconds. At the 2019 combine it was 6.93 seconds. I'd say Wildgoose's number was pretty much average for the position. Got a link? NFL Savant has the average 3-code drill for CBs at 6.88s. 7.01 is right around average for a safety. A 7-second cone drill isn't great for a CB or WR, whose game is predicated on cutting on moving. I think Kahlil Mack had a 7-second cone drill. OT Walker Little of Stanford posted a 6.9 although that was the best time ever for an OL
  8. I think Vogelbach OBP will keep him ahead of McKinney. He’s more of a complete hitter.
  9. Rough first day for the Big 10.
  10. Reggie Pearson entering transfer portal. He missed all of last season because WI doctors wouldn’t medically clear him. Said second and third opinions from outside doctors say he can play, so he’s transferring out to be able to still pursue a football career. DE Isaac Townsend is transferring from Oregon to WI. Was a 3 star recruit who used red shirt, then doesn’t look like he played at all last year. Guessing not an immediate impact type of guy.
  11. Yea, from reading that it’s simply a typo
  12. Who’s the backup PG now post trade?
  13. 1-19 from 3 That won’t win many games. Good lord I could shoot 5%. Maybe even left handed.
  14. I wasn't so much thinking who's flat out a better defender I guess. More so that Arcia has only played SS and is just learning 3B this year, where Urias has some experience at 3B. That's why it seemed odd to me that in situations where they're both on the field at the same time, it sounded like CC wanted Arcia to play 3B. I would guess that they end up on the field at the same time a decent amount this year. He commented that if Shaw struggles that Arcia would be a candidate to get time there. If that was the case though, why wouldn't you just slide Urias over and have Arcia play SS in those games?
  15. I have no clue on defensive metrics, but in any game that Arcia and Urias are on the field together, does it make sense for Arcia to play 3B and Urias SS defensively? In my head this should be the other way around.

  17. Who is starting on Opening Day? Been a while since we had 2 that have a legit argument to be the guy.
  18. So you think that anyone that doesn't make the opening day roster just gets shut down until May? Not what I meant... What good is sending him to AT site? Won't be playing any real games until May. Most of the regulars in ST right now are not playing regularly in games. That doesn't mean that they aren't going to be improving or getting ready for the season. There are inter-squad games that go on behind the scenes everyday, which is probably exactly what will occur in AT sites. Those guys are getting their work in, and facing live pitching. One could argue that he would get more reps at the AT site than a live game. I think Urias makes the roster, but lack of AAA games will have nothing to do with it. For the record, I think he's the back up SS to start the year, but gets a lot of PT between the infield spots. Saying Arcia can't hit because of a 3 year average of stats is sort of cherry picking. The point many people are trying to argue is that he seems like a Carlos Gomez type breakout may be possible. He's getting to that age and shows glimpses of it. We aren't saying he's been a good hitter. We are saying we suffered through his development issues, so why cut bait now, right when it appears that he may reach a higher ceiling? Between 2B, SS, and 3B there are plenty of AB to go around between Arcia, Urias, Shaw, and Robertson.
  19. On their website the AT&T Live channel list doesn't include the regional fox sports that I can see. It has FS1 and Desportes. Based on where the Big10 Network kicks in, I am guessing you need the second tier which is 84.99?
  20. So you think that anyone that doesn't make the opening day roster just gets shut down until May?
  21. Fresh arm in July....
  22. Being 32 and with his service time, I'm sure he has an opt out if they are planning on him going down to start the year. I was thinking he either starts the year in the pen or he would find somewhere where he can. Although, with the way he's throwing, there may not be a ton of options for him.
  23. I drafted both Woodruff and Burnes in my fantasy draft last night, so if they both require TJ at some point this year we'll know why. I almost didn't take either just to avoid my personal jinx. Took Woodruff in the 3rd and Burnes fell all they way to the 7th round. Only two Brewers I drafted, so I'm not a total homer.
  24. I don't think Zimmerman is "set", I think it's just the opposite. He has almost no chance to make this team opening day, and most people thought that from the day he signed. He was always a real long shot. Boxberger probably has a better chance of hanging on because most of the guys chasing him are young arms that can easily be sent down. Feyereisen is having a very good spring, but doesn't hurt anything to send him down to start the year. Where in reverse, they pretty much can't send Boxberger down unless the IL him to start the year and give him time to get if figured out. Maybe he can get a "blister".
  25. So if Mitchell is in the lineup today does that mean minor league camp is a term and they essentially are the same place?
