  1. On que Potter hobbles off with an ankle injury. Hopefully nothing serious. EIU is winning the second half 22-13 so far. Really stale offense this half, and some early shot clock deep 3’s.
  2. Carlson looks really good. He’s the stereotypical Badger make up in a forward. Davis is crazy athletic. Got roasted on a back door cut but elevated and blocked the layup from behind. Potter looks a little rusty, but opening night. Looks like a 9 man rotation with Anderson, Wahl, Carlson, and Davis getting first half minutes off the bench. Only concern I see is lack of a third big guy. Other than Reuvers and Potter there isn’t a big guy. Hedstrom and Crowl the two 7’ haven’t seen the court. With an injury or foul trouble they would lack size. Edit: Crowl the first guy off the bench in second half. Just feels like he needs to put on weight before he’s in the rotation though.
  3. Glad to have Badger basketball underway, but a 9:00 PM start in your home opener???
  4. I don’t want Mertz to leave after next year, but I don’t want him to stay through his senior season either. Honestly think it benefits recruiting if we put guys into the draft early. Oddly next season might be the best path to the college playoff. It will be the last time in the Mertz era that Ohio State isn’t on the regular season schedule. They have Notre Dame in a early season non-con at Soldier Field as probably their biggest test of the regular season.
  5. I wonder if the missed games increase the chances of some seniors coming back next year.
  6. Wasn’t Brown left unprotected last year and not selected?
  7. He gets more money signing with Milwaukee doesn’t he? I’m sure he will sign to get the max deal, just a matter of if he then demands a trade or not. My guess is he’s leaving in the near future if not this year. Milwaukee improved the roster, but I don’t think enough to even win the East let alone a title.
  8. We are soooo due for a coin toss win....
  9. With a minute left why waste the down?
  10. Coaches earned that. Decline 15 yards of penalties and play an absurd soft zone on 3rd down.
  11. That’s horrible 3rd down defense call. Now you bring a FG or even them going for it into play. Way to soft, gave them a free 15 yards
  12. On fourth and a foot?????
  13. How? They scored last possession of the half so Colts didn’t get a back to back.
  14. “Looks like GB is going to play coverage” Yea, you can say that every play. Why would we blitz a hobbled 55 year old QB?
  15. Why should you be able to get beat deep, just tackle the receiver, and turn a 50 yard TD into a 15 yard penalty?
  16. The Packers LB group historically grades out poorly in coverage. Which a competent DC would realize and determine that they shouldn’t cover freaking wide receivers. But, here we are. Isn’t Martinez grading out really well in coverage for the Giants? If so, I’m guessing he was being asked to do things schematically here that he simple couldn’t do.
  17. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a kickoff bounce backwards...
  18. Preston Smith covering a seam route is cringy
  19. Crossing routes seem to be an issue. This has been a brutal drive, keeping our offense on the sidelines and now taking the clock under 2:00
  20. He’s had some bad throws, but also working with 1 legitimate weapon in the passing game and that’s a true freshman.
  21. 20/32 on FG 30+ the last 3 years. 63% chance of it being a 1 score game. There’s zero reason Wisconsin can’t kick a 39 yard FG. That was a terrible decision.
  22. That call is indicative of their confidence in the kicker, I think. Would’ve been a 39 yard FG. Any power 5 school better have someone that can kick a 39 yard FG.
  23. This drive makes our decision to not kick the FG even worse.
  24. You need 2 scores, why not kick the field goal???
