  1. "I feel like everytime Gabe Gross leads off, he strikes out. Is there a stat on this?" Coming into the game, with none on and none out, Gross is 2 for 12 with 5 strikeouts. Also a HR, if you remember the game he led off with his only one not as a PH.
  2. "the Crew needs to start to pick it up if they want to reach Ned's goal of 2 more victories a month this year." At least they are ahead of schedule, since they won 4 more games in April than last year.
  3. Ok I finally figured it out now. I was doing it with the HTML button on, and I should have been doing it with the ezCodes button on instead. Sorry to make this into much more of a big deal than it needed to be, and thanks for everyone's help.
  4. Reviving an old thread, because I just spent an hour trying to edit my post that won't line up correctly. Richie Sexson 2001 45 Richie Sexson 2003 45 Gorman Thomas 1979 45 Ben Oglivie 1980 41 Gorman Thomas 1982 39 Jeromy Burnitz 1998 38 Gorman Thomas 1980 38 George Scott 1975 36 Jeromy Burnitz 2001 34 Larry Hisle 1978 34 John Jaha 1996 34 Geoff Jenkins 2000 34 Ben Oglivie 1982 34 Moderator Chris told me to use spaces, but they already are spaces. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
  5. Chad Paronto has been called up by Atlanta. 6'5", 260 (Edit -- added link) www.minorleaguebaseball.c...;fext=.jsp
  6. Hmmm... I would've traded that run scored by Fielder to still have Todd Greene in the lineup...
  7. "Ughh.. more shoulder soreness for Mike Jones. was that from Jim Powell? Need more details---mlb has the giants feed.." Yes from Jim, but I don't think he gave any more details, unless I missed it.
  8. Bob is now explaining it on the radio. The ball was on the infield grass, and while everyone was concerned about Greene, Koskie decided to come down the line. Niekro spotted him, yelled at Hennessey, who picked up the ball and tagged Koskie about 4 feet from home.
  9. Mike Napoli of the Angels has just his a HR in his first major-league at bat.
  10. No... we don't want Matheny in the game...
  11. "So, to answer your question, I wasn't looking at a lineup. I was listening to Jim and Bob." I can understand the confusion. I had to double-check the lineup after hearing Bob's call on that play. I think he said something like "Hall makes the play in short CF."
  12. Helms hit his 1st Marlin HR last night in a rare start at 1B, but he's continuing his last Brewer successes with a .971 OPS in a PH role so far this year.
  13. 7/28/05- Hennessey pitches 7 shutout innings and provides all of the offense in a 3-0 win. The Brewers did miss out on a couple opportunities to score. Branyan doubled leading off the 3rd, but was cut down on a Santos bunt attempt before Clark singled. In the 5th, Hall walked and Hardy singled, but Clark's long line drive curved just south of the foul pole before he grounded out to end the inning. Santos' one mistake came after a wild pitch and an intentional walk put 2 runners on. He only allowed 3 hits in 6 innings as the tough-luck loser, though it dropped his record to 3-11. It was the Brewers' 2nd straight 3-0 loss, having dropped a game to Claudio Vargas and Arizona the night before. The Brewers' record dropped to 50-53. 9/16/04- Hennessey finishes a 3-game sweep by the Giants, allowing only 2 hits in 7 innings, although the Brewers did have runners in scoring position in the 1st (Podsednik walk and stolen base with none out) and 4th (Clark single and Branyan walk with 2 out). Santos was again the losing pitcher, giving up HRs to Grissom and Feliz, and all 4 Giant runs in the first 3 innings. He was replaced in the 5th by Wise, who pitched 3 scoreless innings. Bonds was kept at 699 career HRs but went 3 for 3 with a walk and an RBI double. Santos drops to 10-11 and the Brewers' record falls to 62-82.
  14. Hennessey has owned the Brewers in 2 career starts, both at Miller Park. Besides the 3-run jack, he has pitched 14 scoreless innings, allowing 5 hits, 4 walks, and striking out 11. Brady Clark has 2 of the hits off Hennessey, Hardy is the only other current Brewer to hit him.
  15. Has anyone heard anything at all about Luis Martinez? Did Jeff Bennett, Ben Grieve, and Chris Magruder really fail to land any type of job this spring?
  16. Just as unbelievable, Pujols hits #13 already.
  17. Wow Mench does it again. HR in 7 games in a row.
  18. The Power lose the first game 5-4. They leave the tying and winning runs on base in the 7th.
  19. Ryan Glynn is with AAA Rochester (Twins). Jeff Farnsworth is with AAA Charlotte (White Sox). Edit: add links
  20. This is about as frustrating as it gets...
  21. Santana vs Buehrle was a nice pitcher's duel through 5, but Thome breaks through with a 2-run HR in the 6th. Chisox lead 2-0.
  22. Anyone know why Street did not come in to the game in the 9th for Oakland vs Detroit? Duchscherer gives up 3 in the 9th to blow the save for Zito.
  23. "For those who are wondering, Prince hits .333 (5-15) against lefties with with an OPS of .975. Limited plate appearance but he seems to be holding his own." If you look at his career numbers, his stats against LHP are better than against RHP. On a related note, I saw this comment from fantasyguru.com's Scott Pianowski about Fielder: "He needs to clobber right-handed pitching because he hasn't figured out lefties yet.." which I don't understand whatsoever. 25. "Did anyone else hear that stat that no player had ever saved his team's first 3 games until D-Bow did in on Wednesday? Will he be out there going for #4 tonight or does he get a break?" He'll be in there. His break came yesterday. By the way, this discussion and conclusion did take place in the major league forum.
