If the trade impact is negligible then why do it if you believe the team is better than the division lead suggests? I would have thought Stearns would want to get a bigger impact for a pitcher of Hader's caliber than this. I just hope they aren't done dealing...

Ashby looks good. Giving up 2 runs is a nice outing IMO. I wasn't expecting a win here. Taking 3 of 4 in this series is nothing to sneeze at. I'll take series wins like this all day long.

I had no problem with him not playing. It was nice to see him and Williams in those sharp ASG uniforms but it is more important for us to have him sharp, well rested and ready to go for the second half. Williams had a nice inning last night so that was good to see.

That would be great but the guy hitting the homer has to have runners on base. How many times in July other than the first game against the Giants have we had multiple run homers? How many times have we failed to scratch a run across with a guy in scoring position with less than 2 outs? I would hate to look up the number of runners we have left on base this season.

It doesn't mean much but I'm glad to see Rowdy get a homer.

And you shouldn't depend upon HRs to create offense. They come in bunches. Situational hitting is alien to these guys.
