  1. This isn't all on Marco (the defense has been atrocious), but he's looked lost out there. Throwing very hittable pitches over the plate on 0-2/1-2 counts, not giving Lucroy any chance of throwing out a runner twice. He's not getting much help behind him, but he certainly isn't doing anything to help himself. Probably need to give it to the bullpen early and hope they can stabilize.
  2. For a team that seems to staunchly defend 'unwritten rules', didn't they break one throwing at Braun? I thought it was always "you get one", as in, if you throw at the player the first time and miss him, that's it. You had your chance and you blew it. It seemed like they were going to hit him no matter how many pitches it took. Honestly, it was just dumb in the first place. I get they were going to put him on anyway, but if Montero doesn't basically make a blind catch on the first throw behind Braun, the Brewers tie it up and have the go-ahead run at third. But hey, I'm not complaining - if you want to be macho, then you live with the consequences. I've always found the amount of unwritten rules ridiculous and am glad the Brewers haven't played that game in recent years (the last egregious one I can remember was McClung hitting Pujols in an equally bad spot that led to a bunch of runs.) One question: I know in situations like this, the pitcher usually gets six games so he has to miss a start. Does the manager get one as well? I'm kind of blanking on that. I'd think the league may give him 2-3, just for being so completely over-the-top obvious with the fist-bump and general dugout celebration. I could be wrong, but a few games may be warranted. I wish Montero would get one too, just based on his ridiculous reaction to being hit in the first game, then calling for the hit on Braun, but I don't think they really punish catchers. Addendum: I really love the quotes by Lohse and Braun. Great stuff. And the Brewers coach sarcastically clapping at the Diamondbacks dugout after the second pitch hit Braun was great as well (I think that's on MLB.com with Arizona's feed.)
  3. When they say "twice as high as anyone ever tested", is that in the MLB? Or do they mean that sentence in the most literal terms, that no one has ever tested nearly that high.
  4. Yikes, now here I definitely would have gone with Gomez... oh well. Come on, Nyjer!
  5. I think that only would have made sense if they hit for Kottaras.
  6. Need one here, for sure. Do you go with Lucroy here against a lefty, or leave Kottaras in with Wolf pitching so well. I honestly don't know the answer...
  7. I love you, Hairston. I can't imagine what things would be like if they were trotting out Casey at third in the playoffs. JHJ has been smokin'.
  8. Tie game. Keep them off the board, Wolf. I like the Brewers chances if they can just get a darn lead.
  9. WOW! JHJ was not even to third when that ball was thrown. Great slide, very lucky.
  10. Well, he had the right approach, but just got it in the air. Please get this run in. Please.
  11. He must have got complaints after game 1. Since then, it seems like he only gets really excited for the Cardinals. In his defense, there hasn't been a ton to get excited about on the Brewers end after game one.
  12. Carpenter is obviously pitching around Kotsay to get to Braun and Fielder. Boo! Pitch to Kotsay! Boooo!
  13. GIF or it didn't happen. http://i.imgur.com/lUCKs.gif What... in... the... world. Haha.
