  1. Wow. Pretty happy they took Hernandez out. He was dealing and only at 65 pitches.
  2. Masterson gave up five and is already out of the game after two innings of work. As a Brewers fan, I'm hoping the Cards keep him in the rotation as long as possible. He hasn't looked good at all this year.
  3. Smoked, right to Sandoval for the DP. Yep, not looking like the Crew's night.
  4. It's feeling more and more like the Lohse game where they just kept him in too long and let it get out of control. Same thing is almost happening here...
  5. So four Brewers in the top 15 (once Ramirez qualifies). Can't say I love to see that, but we have the second best record in the NL. And I hate Morse. Crap against most everyone besides the Brewers.
  6. I feel like he's been hitting the ball pretty well overall lately, but he just can't string together hits. If we were bereft of statistics, I would have guessed that, based on what I've seen from Ryan this year, he was hitting somewhere in the .260 range with a low .300 OBP and SLG around .470. Of course, we have stats, and they don't lie.
  7. Gomez and Ramirez have to be among league leaders in first pitch swings. Still, they're playing well in general this year, so, yeah - same as my last message. Can't complain too much.
  8. Carlos has now swung at the last six first pitches. Then again, he's had two homers and a bunt single in that time, so it's hard to complain too much. And I'd say he's generally had good pitches to hit.
  9. This is a lot like the last Lohse game, except Gallardo is at least managing to escape jams. Can't imagine he goes further than five. I'd pull him next inning if he can't locate the fastball or curve.
  10. No control. Probably go to Marco early and let Fiers pitch in Garza's spot.
  11. Work the count and you're gonna get those pitches, Carlos. One back!
  12. I'm curious about this as well. I've seen guys put their foot in front of the base before, but I can't remember the last time I saw a player completely block the base with his leg. He's lucky Luc was nice, 'cause he easily could have, and probably should have, gotten some spikes in his leg. Edit: Spelling isn't working today.
  13. No, it was average at best(it was a slider I believe, but either way). I can't imagine how tough it is to be looking for a 98 MPH fastball and try to adjust to a slider there when nobody saw that coming. Yeah, my bad. Looked like a curve the first time I saw it, but after replay that definitely was a slider. But you're correct - that's gotta rattle the batter when he sees that coming. He threw almost all fastballs, then two sliders to Posey. Neither were great, and the fastballs didn't have great location for most of the pitches, but when you throw that hard you can get away with being effectively wild now and then. Edit: This was not some of my best writing...
  14. That wasn't the best curve, but when you throw a bunch of fastballs, that'll get the job done! Nice work. Have to admit, I thought he wouldn't make it out of the inning.
  15. Parra O, Parra D. That last part is nice to have late in games. No way Khrush gets to that.
  16. I have to admit, I'm a bit (OK, a lot) nervous. On another note, I can't believe Jeffress only has one strikeout (and that was in his last game, which was a not-so-great one overall.)
  17. ...and a weak grounder to short. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a little more Herrera at SS now and then. He's been a pretty nice improvement over the first time he was called up with the Brewers. Segura is just in a funk. He started looking a little better maybe a month ago - he was driving the ball a bit more, and using right field. Now he just rolls over the ball. At least his D has been really good.
  18. I don't get the feeling this will end well for the Brewers. Seems they score early and give up runs (and the lead) late. I could be completely wrong on that, but it certainly has felt that way.
  19. What is up with the awful 0-2 pitches lately? Lucroy can block pitches. I don't understand giving very hittable pitches on counts like that.
  20. I forgot to mention it when it happened, but I don't think the Brewers' graphics department had a lot of faith in Jeffress getting Oscar Tavares out: 'Oscar Tavares 3-run HR' flashes as he hits a single. Close enough...
