  1. Where have you gone Jorge Lopez?
  2. It's amazing how consistent Arcia has been. OBP of .346/.347/.349 in '14-'16 and SLG of .392/.453/.449. The only odd note was SLG at Brevard County which is not strange at all in that park.
  3. I'm sure they were just trying to get Monte going by getting him a (presumed) get-me-over fastball to hit. I don't think it would work. To my layman's eye, he is jumping at every fastball he sees. Even if he times it right it's 50-50 whether it goes foul down the left field line. He needs to relax and wait a bit more, try to hit the fastball back up the middle or to right center. In any case, he is really messed up again.
  4. Awful start for Medeiros. Why is Jose Cuas being run out at 3B every day? Striking out 38% of the time with a .198 SLG and .420 OPS. I don't want to oversell Taylor Brennan but he is certainly better than that. Cuas should probably go down a level. Kodi Medeiros couldn't get through 2 innings. Gave up 8 runs. Some unearned but easily could have been the way he was getting bashed.
  5. Clint Terry is starting so I guess Kodi Medeiros is not right yet.
  6. Is there one sliver lining in all of Brewer nation? Mind you I'm writing this as Brewers crap away bases loaded no one out but boy it'd be nice to hear some good news. Now I'm reading that Trent Clark is doing fairly average. Who is there in this system to be excited about? Hader seems to be only Brewer dominating and even he gets qualified with "possible bullpen ceiling". Arcia I guess but haven't read of anyone dominating. Change your mind on Trent Clark after today?
  7. Not much of an outing for Wang. He took 92 pitches to go 5 innings, giving up 8 hits and 1 walk. Still the Shuckers lead 5-3 in the 7th. HR by Victor Roache.
  8. Medeiros finally gave up a run. He ends up 6 2/3 with 8K/1BB and 6/1 GO/FO. This has to be his best game this year. Could have avoided the run with a little better fielding too.
  9. Medeiros is looking very strong tonight through 3. Hopefully, he has figured something out.
  10. Wow. 3 run blast by Angel Ortega. What's gotten into him this year?
  11. Lopez is actually striking out more this year than last by quite a bit. It's his walks that are way up. (8.8/9 inn versus 3.3). He is, to me, more of a breaking ball pitcher who might be thrown off by the thin air. Whatever the cause, he needs to throw more strikes. At least he didn't give up many hits today.
  12. --and Nick Travieso is the Reds' number 9 prospect according to MLB. Save a few for the Brewers Brett.
  13. Orf was 3-4 with a 2B, 2 RBIs and 2 SB. Michael Reed 0-4 with 4 Ks. Broxton 2B and 3B. Middlebrooks 2B and HR.
  14. MLB Trade Rumors now confirms he has no options.
  15. Orf is at short for CS today. Arcia off.
  16. Just to remind: Woodruff had an injury problem at the start of last year (oblique I think). He was a lot better after a stint on the DL that allowed him to recover. For example 1st half vs 2nd half splits: ERA: 4.06/2.33 WHIP: 1.42/1.14 BAA: .286/.237 Strikeout rate was also up a lot.
  17. Spectacular performance by Brandon Woodruff and not 1 but 3! Manatees HRs.
  18. ---and 1/7 GO/FO which is not a good number for him.
  19. Manatees take the lead in the 9th with a little help from Yankees (Scottish?) catcher Santiago Nessy. You have to read about this one later.
  20. Clint Coulter picks up his first HR of the year.
  21. Derby is getting lit up early. This game is about over folks. Only one out in.
  22. Javier Betancourt lifted for a pinch hitter in the 2nd. Not sure what that's about. Was anybody listening? Edit: Hit by foul ball off his own bat when he tried to bunt.
  23. Manatees are at it again. No base runners through 3 innings. This level of futility is incredible.
  24. Manatees with 2 singles and a walk today. OPS goes down again!
  25. Welcome to Colorado Springs Brooks Hall! 10 HR last year, gave up 3 in an inning and 1/3 today.
