  1. I should clarify that MLB has a scholarship fund he can apply for.
  2. I am pretty sure that such a player can sign with an MLB team and later also apply for scholarship $ in order to get a degree. But it's true that everyone is motivated by different things. Apparently he really wants to play college ball just now. He was also the one I had most hoped they could sign.
  3. I' m wondering if the emphasis on HS pitchers late (not hitters) has anything to do with the team thinking they can impress them with the "pitching lab". I mean, if I was 18 and my motivation was to reach the Big Leagues, I would find it impressive to train there as opposed to a college facility. I know college facilities are also very modern and what not, but the Brewers recent success with under-the-radar guys would be very appealing.
  4. I happened to turn the tv on a couple weeks ago at the very moment a movie (Fright Night) filmed on my street was showing the very scene I'd watched them film. HORRIBLE movie....
  5. I can deal with players making mistakes (I'm not perfect at my job), but if its true that he brought the ball out bc he was angry there is NO excuse. He needs to be gone immediately.
  6. I also found LMOE killer funny at times, with long dumb stretches in between. Pretty much the last season (in Mexico) was a waste of time IMHO. Of course, now I'd like to see more about all the people from underground, but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen.
  7. Been waiting 36 years (I was 12) for the Crew to return to the WS...but I'm going to a HS FB game tonight with my son. If we lose I don't be there to watch it...and we win, there will be a game 7!
  8. I don't have a major problem with Buck (whom I HATE on FB, BTW) or Smoltz. But the post-game crew is so biased it truly is frustrating. Ont he flip side, it is rather fun to try to figure out a single word Ortiz says!
  9. Interesting that we beat a team for LA for that title.
  10. Good point. I thought if we could get him for the proverbial "bag of balls" and he helps win 1-2 games, it's worth it. Apparently the Reds wanted more than that so we moved on. Not heartbroken.
  11. Late to the party here, but what if they see him as a hybrid long man... a piggyback of sorts for when a starter clearly doesn't have it, you bring in our pseudo pen / starter, Matt Harvey? That sort of usage would be good, because it's somebody who can pick up innings, and possibly effectively! My thinking exactly. If he can eat a few innings to save a bullpen arm for when we need it, that may turn out to be significant.
  12. No more Nate Orf or Brett Phillips pinch "hitting"!
  13. I guess you get a bat no matter what position he plays?

  15. Obviously it depends on what we gave up, but the reliever we got from them at this time worked pretty well.
  16. Also really into Live PD. It can be redundant, but you never ever know what is going to happen.
  17. Sherlock is quite good. Also really liked Ozark - though a bit too graphic in places for my taste.
  18. It BUGS me when people say "Aldis" instead of Aldi - and it seems as though everyone does so.
