  1. I would put the chances of Moustakas taking $8mil before testing the market pretty darn close to zero percent. There is just such little risk for him testing the market. Not that I think he is going to get some mega 3 year deal, but it is worth a shot for him to go out there and see if he can secure multiple years or more per year. Grandal will definitely test the market.
  2. Some people tie up thousands of dollars in games that may or may not happen...and get the runaround on when they will get there money back. I mean...I can't really blame them.
  3. Lol...weird comment. I hope it becomes an annual tradition though. I really hope he gets to complain about how World Series tickets are done or the parade route.
  4. I would imagine a ton of people will pass on NLDS tickets. I am sure most people wouldn't be very optimistic about a potential date with the Dodgers and as mentioned we could easily be on the doorstep of defeat. People will probably hold off and wait for a potential NLCS for the most part. Last year even watching their potential elimination would have sold NLDS tickets just because people were so pumped to be in the postseason again...this year won't have the kind of interest. They need to be doing good. You can still make money, just not as lucrative as last year. he second we would make the NLDS people would fly to go buy tickets to Game 3. Packers are a non issue, I doubt that dramatically effects the Brewers postseason ticket interest on a weekend day. Of course if we lose two to kick it off, yah, interest would die quick.
  5. Jose Iglesias is no better this year than last. After 2018 he signed a $2.5mil contract. Reilly’s $5mil figure is already doubling his previous salary...$8-$10mil seems waaaay more than what it will cost. What did he do to deserve a quadruple in salary? Didi is solid, but the numbers I have seen thrown around for him...hard pass. Freddy Galvis. I mean, I guess he could be an option? Not really dying to add him though. I don’t know what the trade market features. That could be a route to take. Quick glance shows nothing, but maybe I missed someone. In my opinion Iglesias is a solid option to try and bring in...I’d even keep Arcia around for utility purposes. If he doesn’t work rolling with Arcia one more year is sadly a likely scenario. As much as Arcia sucks a marginal upgrade seems like more work than it is worth.
  6. In simple terms for the Cubs to tie us if we go 2-4 they need to go 6-0...I suppose we could go 1-5 and then go 5-1. A team likely would have to go undefeated and hope we only win two games. I could see us going 2-4, but not one win or zero. It is not impossible. Regarding the banner...to be fair in 2008 that got you into the postseason just like a division winner. The current WC set up is a lot different. Not sure a “Wild Card Champs” banner is worthy. They do celebrate it like a division/postseason series win with champagne so anything is possible.
  7. A lot of elite teams, but some of those teams play each other that could cause some of those team to have two losses. If Georgia or Alabama picks up a loss in the regular season the loser of the SEC game would be very unlikely to get in. I see a lot of elite teams getting two losses causing them to get squeezed out. Very good chance teams beat up each other. I think Ohio State or Wisconsin is an easy pick as a one loss team. But hard to know where other teams will end up.
  8. Yeah, literally zero people said they were signing Cole in this "cool story." Who are you arguing with exactly? This just seems like a belligerent response. You understand this thread exists because people keep bringing it up in other threads, right? People have brought it up and wanted it. Maybe not in this thread because they weren’t the ones to create it and have yet to participate in it. I was putting my response here because it is now the Cole thread instead of wherever it was getting put before. I can’t remember what thread it was popular in.
  9. I’m not too sad the Cubs lost. It’s almost better to be honest, their collapse is just grand. As long as we keep winning and secure the WC hosting right I will be quite happy with this year.
  10. The Brewers magic number is now 3 with 6 to play. They are in position to HOST the WC game. Cubs/Mets/Phillies all have their elimination number at 3. The Phillies have not played today yet.
  11. So under-spoken thing with the Nationals: They have a double header Tuesday and not only is that tough as is to play (often times teams split) they have zero off days remaining. So it is going to require them to run out a lot more bullpen arms they don’t really want to.
  12. Now that, that is 100%...an error. Not even close Arcia, let’s focus.
  13. To be fair signing Kimbrel while still in Spring Training ******could***** have yielded way different results. The Cubs have truly handled him terribly.
  14. I hope the plan is NOT to give Hader 3 innings. That isn't what he typically does, if that was their plan, I'd hope they build him up to that rather than just toss him into that role. Didn't he struggle in that 3 inning role earlier in the season? You know, when he was their only real relief option, before things got figured out in the bull pen? He rarely has done it. Only once this year and it was technically 2 2/3 scoreless. He did it numerous times last year (5ish) and gave up runs in just one. That being said those were nearly all less than 3 innings too. Only one was actually 9 outs.
  15. They won’t play in lightning so hopefully just rain. I love crazy weather games...usually prefer it not be the Packers though. The other day I saw highlights from an older Eagles game where they played in heavy snow to start and then had quite a few inches of snow to deal with on the ground after that. Worst snow game I can ever recall, but man it made for one wacky game.
  16. Miami Marlins aren’t even going to get close to 1mil attendance (not even 10k a game). Mind you that is PAID....PAID, not actually coming in. Their attendance dropped over 50% from 2017 to 2018. That is like us going from 3mil this year to 1.5mil next year. That is...hard to even comprehend. Most teams probably fluctuate less than 10% and certainly nowhere near the Marlins levels between those two years. Even the next worst team brings in over 50% more fans than Miami. These numbers haven’t been sniffed since the Montreal days.
  17. Well I imagine tomorrow is an early game. MLB might make them sit around all day to play it. Is the rain really that dismal all day? On another note we are basically on the brink of consecutive postseason appearances. Something that has happened just once in our existence. Something you would have to be close to about 50 years old to even remember as a fan. Additionally we are slated to finish #8 in all of baseball for attendance. This would mark the most impressive ranking outside of 2011s #7 spot.
  18. Personally I think Michigan is more overrated than us underrated. Top 15 is pretty lofty all things considered. However, after that horrible near loss at home to Army this tough loss may speak volumes about how not good Michigan is. We will see, but Michigan looks very...unstellar.
  19. They would probably force you to do a double header. That Monday is set aside for Game 163 games. They want everything done before that day. It really isn’t an open day to play. I really doubt they would move it so a team can make up a regular season rain out, that is what I am saying. They need to be done incase of a Game 163 on Monday.
  20. If they hold this three game lead after tomorrow they should be set. A two game lead could realistically fall apart in 6 games...3? That would take a lot going wrong.
  21. They would probably play that WC on Tuesday. Very unlikely they move the date.
  22. If the Marlins beat the Nats once, simply amazing for us.
  23. I'm thinking that bullpen party area. The field level area? I have always wanted to sit there for a game...the days they release tickets to the general public the dates never work for me. Hoping a postseason game ends the streak of inability (they seemed to have them for sale last year in the special group areas).
  24. Pretty sure this Pirates offense could make me look good pitching.
