  1. What do you mean? Clint Hurdle, the Pirates manager. His face is always a deep shade of red. Today, for some reason, it looks a deeper shade of brick red. Dude is going to have a stroke in the dugout someday. Doesn’t help he just sits there motionless.
  2. Never sat in a suite at MP. Have a good time, let us know how it is! It has been all that I expected. Great experience. I hope I can do this again some time. Time for the entire forum to pitch in and get a suite.
  3. It’s gotta be up there. He has pitched multiple innings in 5 huge/close September wins. But this September run has been a huge group effort by a lot of people.
  4. Well hopefully he come back good...hard to depend on that. Two bigger questions: 1) Is Suter a viable bullpen arm (I don’t think he will be a starter. At least not out of the gate) 2) Will they bring back Pomeranz The pen has a tooooon of potential next year. But bullpens are also fickle. Answer to #1 > OBVIOUSLY YES. Answer to #2 > if Stearns can re-sign him and doesn’t trade Hader, we’ll have the best bullpen in MLB history. I really hope they resign Pomeranz. Counsell and the Brewers LOVE to have guys who can go multiple innings. They love pulling starters early and using the pen. That would give them an insane group of guys who can give them multiple frames if they want. To be honest it almost makes to much sense to not do. Though I admit Suter would likely find a lot of time in the rotation filling in for injuries.

  6. Okay. I’m not complaining, but every time I tell myself I am going to do something after an inning is done it takes half an hour. Not that my kid is complaining they get to stay up longer or anything.
  7. Next mound visit get the pitcher a towel and water.
  8. Well I guess we will take it! Let’s go Grish!
  9. It’s amazing cause they usually pick kids who can’t pronounce the names and it is just real brutal to hear. The last game I was at it was just horrendous. The kid butchered all three names terribly and they weren’t tough ones. You would think light screening would be required.
  10. Well you gotta hope Shaw can get that one run on 3B in now.
  11. Alright Arcia, lets be productive. Even if you move runners over.
  12. I’d like at least a 3 game lead going into the week. 2 games would be nice, but definitely could mess that up. 4 games sounds nice though...
  13. The sad thing is, he isn’t. He looks worse the Weeks defensively if that is what we are referring to. And regarding LF that people talk about occasionally...I don’t think that really makes sense. There is no one to replace him at 2B. Not like we have some young stud to get slotted there. Also his arm is really bad, likely worse than Khris Davis. He takes terrible routes on ground balls sometimes...he seems like a guy who would really struggle with OF instincts. Not everyone can play the outfield even though people like to think of it as a place to hide poor defenders. Rickie Weeks, a terrible defensive 2B, was really scary in the OF for SEA/ARI. Look at Eric Thames...it isn’t that easy for many. I don’t see dumping Thames to move Braun to 1B, move Hiura to LF, and then spend money for a 2B who offensively is likely worse than Thames. You are definitely getting worse offensively and I would almost bet overall the defense gets worse too. Hiura is probably a worse OFer than Braun and Braun is definitely not great at 1B from what little we have seen. The 2B better be Arcia level defensively. Hiura is really bad, but it is better to just stick him at the position he is uber elite at offensively. He isn’t Ryan Braun at 3B bad...we can live with it. It definitely takes a good hit to his offense but still a All Star level player from what he has produced.
  14. Brewers are going to have to score 13 more runs than their opponents to end the year to make the postseason. Currently a -12 run differential.
  15. There isn’t a clear rule on punishment. I’d imagine the umpire would harass you a little bit to stop it and get back to the game. The rule states if you continue to break the rule they will do something...likely fines. Do mound visit limits apply in the postseason? If so, I think I’d be willing to take the punishment. I’d think so, I don’t recall from last year to be honest. There is no in game punishment. Going to the mound for a mix up of signs or to change signs isn’t suppose to count once you pass the limit. You can’t go and talk it out or bring the coach out...that would be a violation.

  17. For me it is hard to have a rooting interest in these games when they finish before we even start. Hard to cheer for a Cubs win when we could lose today. If you were told we were losing tonight I’m sure you’d be cheering for the Cards then. Kinda an awkward series to to watch and cheer for a specific team.
  18. Annnnnnnnnd the Cardinals have the lead on back to back homer pitches to start the 9th.
  19. Annnnnnnnnd Kimbrel has blown the game on a homer.
  20. Yes, I think the one loss on the road likely would get them there. There are situations where it may not...but I’d be surprised. Hard to predict what other teams will do. Depends how we do on the road at OSU. If we get murdered and drop a ton in the rankings it may be hard to recover from that and get in that Top 4.
  21. They were 13-1 two years ago. That was largely a product of the schedule. What....and you think this year is vastly different? This year was suppose to be a real tough schedule, but those tougher teams are turning out to be pretty soft so far. Michigan is not the Top 10 team they were ranked originally as...at least in my opinion and their play. Michigan State, maybe a good team...but at home. Iowa, I think is good...but also a home game. Minnesota, could be a tough road game...but they have played pretty terribly against lame teams. So basically they have the road game at Ohio State. Outside of that the schedule isn’t very intimidating and the worst games are at home. Now do I think this is a tougher schedule than 2017? Yah, but I don’t know if this team is better than the 2017 team. I think I would pick the 2017 team, but it is a bit early to know how truly great this team is. The 2017 defense was really good and nearly beat OSU to be in the playoff. It is exciting to think this team could flirt with the idea of being in the playoff picture. First step is getting to the OSU game undefeated. If we lose that then we gotta win out and beat them in the championship hypothetically.
  22. Hope they keep the pedal down, I just don’t think Michigan is that good. They definitely could pass there way back into it with our secondary though. Already have had some big passing plays (though the one was overturned).
