Fresh start after Rodgers and we brought back this whole ‘L’ coaching staff. -
He was extended when he was promoted to General Manager. I looked at an article this morning from back then and Attanasio labeled it “long term”. I couldn’t find out where it was rumored to be 2023…I recall it being said, I just couldn’t find the source of it.

It was assumed that his contract ended after 2023. However, teams are under no obligation to announce extension or terms of FO people. For all we know they already did an extension or are simply planning to do one this offseason while upgrading his title. And really…I think the assumption might have been wrong. Why would the Brewers having Stearn’s and Arnold have expiring contracts after the same season. That would be pretty dumb. Arnold has always been groomed to take over for Stearns, even Attanasio was pretty clear about that.

Being good defensively is dime a dozen. It’s a matter of how much offense you provide with that. Adames, provides like a garage offense. Not a bad mix, but he is set for $13mil next year.

Why would Woodruff take that? The guy could dang near take the arby number, miss all of 2024, and still make $10mil+ in 2025.

Your WAR is going to get inflated when you play almost every day and you have good defense. You play Brice Turang every day and he would have over 2 WAR. If you want to play a guy 150 games, he will rack up some WAR value. A lot of guys could pop off for 2+ WAR purely on defense. The difference is, if they suck with the bat they won’t play.

Adames - He will be back because he doesn’t have trade value. If he has a great first half he can always get flipped. Woodruff - Also likely to be back, in my opinion. Injury riddled year and ended the year injured. Can’t imagine the trade value is great. But maybe we can get a good offer. Burnes- Trade him or don’t…idk. I just expect a bunch of whining when the return is nowhere near what some are expecting.

Well we have the same owner that brought them both in. Our current GM was Stearns’ sidekick for almost a decade…so Arnold could probably pass off as Stearns at Christmas time he could be so similar. The Brewers shouldn’t fall off a cliff. The real hurt is losing two of the best starters in the game. We have quite a pile of hitters ready to hit the MLB roster though, so that could be a nice change.

Misiorowski and Rodriguez also quite likely to make an MLB appearance next year if things go decently for them. Quero also a likely candidate to debut next year. We will probably see 6/10 Top 10 prospects next year.

Even if he hit his ceiling with the bat, his atrocious defense would ruin it. He is, at his best, a Chris Carter.

Has anyone ever considered that Craig Counsell may not even like Stearns?

After the last two days, I really don’t care if he leaves. It was a great ride Stearns/Counsell. However, it equated to zero postseason success. Year after year of flops. Time to try and see if something else can make it happen.

Might get another bite of the apple. Adames was a train wreck this year, Woodruff is limping into the off-season barely playing all year, and Burnes was disappointing for the most part. who wants to twice up a good return for them?

He would have never got there and it seemed both runner knew it. Not sure he could have faked it to even trick the 2nd base runner to be honest.

Overrated just like Stearns anyway.

Plenty of people think he can carry a rotation post Burnes/Woodruff.

Freddy Peralta is not and will never be an ace. He is our modern Gallardo. The guy is just a tease.

Time to blow it up and do a mini rebuild. No need to humor ourselves and think this clown squad can do anything.

How unshocking out of Peralta. Taters for runs when he was dealing.

Not saying he is, but he has quite an uphill battle. I think most were pretty skeptical of him coming into the season. He has so little power. Unless he becomes an OBP machine, hard to see him become a decent MLB player.
