  1. No they should do the exact opposite. The lighting is bad? GOOD! Freeman admitted it might give the Brewers some type of homefield advantage. GOOD!
  2. April made me feel like not a rebuilding team persay, but one that is ready to rise it just needs the right things to happen. I think there is a solid core right now and if some of our upper prospects can perform and we make some smart outside additions we can start making some noise. It will be a lot of fun to see what happens when Hader/Brinson/Woodruff come up sometime this summer. Not to mention Cordell/Phillips and all the pitchers we need to look through to find reliable bullpen guys. It was a nice sign of life, but not sure if it will continue where we flirt with .500 at the end of the season. I would guess not just because I don't think the offense is this good and the bullpen is going to hand over too many wins late.
  3. I think it is just because it is the next major givaway day.
  4. It is quite simple and has nothing to do with not wanting to admit he did something wrong(he didn't btw). They had options so they are in the minors...that is how the game works. The guys here have not had that much time to prove themselves. I am not sure who does or doesn't have options on the MLB roster, but it isn't ideal to risk losing them or burning an option after 10innings of work. Maybe Milone should be shown the door soon, but I wouldn't freak out over any other current performance.
  5. Haha I literally said the same thing a week ago, so true. The dude needs the big confidence booster for at least half a year.
  6. Nationals make almost no sense. They aren't going to put Harper in CF full time and surely not Jason Werth. There is also little chance you are convincing Braun to go play on the east coast at this point. He wants to play back home or be a Brewer. Anything farther east and you are going to have some issues.
  7. CBS had an article with a title like, "MLB remains only sport to shame playing better." Seriously so true.
  8. Shipping wouldn't be that much if it fits in a small flat rate box. Maybe $6-$7.
  9. I don't get the complaining about drafting DL. It is the end of the 3rd round for crying out loud.
  10. This view makes me wonder, if Tony Gwynn, Sr. was not quite as good as he really was and started his career in 2017 instead of 1983, would he have been guaranteed a starting spot in the majors? His slugging percentage through his age 25 season was around .400. Only 5 times did he hit double-digit home runs. He was a well below average defensive corner outfielder. So basically if he didn't .350 and more like .280? Gwynn still had pretty impressive speed that I am sure would make up for the lack of power. That is what Troy Stokes will depend on. I know he gets a lot of steals, but I am not sure how much of that is just low minors catchers just not being good. Add in the high OBP maybe he is a Brett Gardner type without the above average defense? It would be nice if he could add a little bit more power than he has now.
  11. It does. Opening an OF spot, getting prospects, and freeing up all that salary are the three variables to the equation. Salary relief just makes you think of a team in dire need of that payroll space and usually trying to trade someone not exactly living up to the money being paid to them. It isn't the best wording for that reason, but it isn't wrong.
  12. Saw a report where the Seahawks plan on taking a QB tonight with their !6! picks. Gotta think if a team really wants a QB that is remaining that 33 pick is really really nice.
  13. I think the Giants would swing a deal if they could start winning games. At 8-15? Nothing is going to happen and I am not too confident they turn their poor fortunes around.
  14. I don't get the love for Lamp. Out of all the things we could be doing picking a guard with our top pick seems questionable. I think I want King to be the pick. Feels like we always play teams with tall elite recievers. King could really match up well against those kind of guys. I won't mind Wilson or Awuzie either. Outside of that not really enamoured with any CB at the #33 pick. One rumor is the Packers are considering Kizer. I will throw a brick through my computer if they take a QB with a 1.2 round pick. No, just no.
  15. They probably wanted none of the players that went between the two picks. Love taking advantage of other teams desperation without any downfall.
  16. [sarcasm]Our first round pick won't amount to anything just like usual.[/sarcasm]
  17. Yah...idk. Good luck to them. I should add that I'm a Packers fan. Haha I know. Nothing like the yearly desperation picks to get a QB. Just don't get how you spend so much to get a QB rated as back of the 1st round talent. Obviously multiple teams wanted that #2 pick for him so who knows.
  18. We can only hope. Super depressing watching those two the last few years. When we drafted them I thought at least one of them would become a stud.
  19. Yah...idk. Good luck to them.
  20. I would agree with this. King is there and he is probably the guy.
  21. Not buying the theory. 2/3 of those guys won't even be on that team next year(likely, potentially, who knows). I doubt Braun would commit 4 years to Texas when 3 years those guys might not even be there.
  22. That is the problem though. Even when he makes the majors there will likely always be someone better defensively. Maybe he could play there, but it may not happen. I guess I shouldn't say I don't like him because in the contect of under the radar prospects he might be one of my favorites. Overall though his ceiling is pretty limitted and I don't imagine him ever getting a shot here. Probably a good candidate to be traded when we are contending to get some "now" reinforcements.
  23. If we were getting offered deals like that Braun would have been shipped out long long ago. I don't expect teams to suddenly start offering Top 50 prospects. That Rangers deal is ridiculous and never going to happen, ever.
  24. Don't like Stokes that much because he is more of a tweener guy. Can't play CF and doesn't provide much power at a corner. We will see how he develops, but not that exciting to me.
  25. Scooter Gennett had a legit cult following.
