  1. If Bellinger provides a high OPS stick period they aren't going to spend $70mil on a mid 30s outfielder. Sure they want to hit LHP better, but I doubt they replace a good hitter for that reason alone. They will replace someone who is terrible overall to help that or not at all. The money, prospects, and all the risk involved with trading for Braun all for 120 ABs against LHP as your improvement? Seems like a poor investment if Bellinger can hit. It's not about 120 ABs vs LHP. It's about 10-20 ABs vs LHP during the playoffs. The Dodgers will almost certainly make it to the post-season with or without Braun. But adding Braun's bat to the line-up for the playoffs would have a significant impact on their chance to win a WS. Ditto for 2018, and then a chance he can contribute for the two years beyond that. And I am not doubting that, but if Bellinger can be a an above average bat I honestly just don't see the improvement Braun makes considering the cost. The difference just isn't there then. If they had a Giants type situation in LF then we are talking, but having some to hit lefties better isn't a dire need and more like a luxury if it is that costly to acquire.
  2. Hank...the dog. End of thread
  3. The scariest thing isn't even the HRs it is everything else about his offensive game that is mind boggling. LHPs? .571 AVG Doesn't swing outside the zone Doesn't chase the high fastball Shift? No problem Power against lefties? 4 HRs in 14 ABs One of his last homeruns a lefty threw him some type of breaking pitch(slider?) OFF THE PLATE outside tailing away from him and he casually dumped it over the LF wall. It doesn't make sense. This isn't just some guy hitting some HRs, but deep down is a poor batter. The dude is doing everything. It is almost impossible to try and even rationalize.
  4. Definitely not a blue statement. Clearly they are trying everything to catch Thames if there is anything to catch.

  6. Say what? So....6 WAR is worth $48 Million? Mike Trout is worth $80 Million a year? Yah I couldn't wait for Thames to hit that 2 WAR mark just to prove how ridiculously stupid those WAR values are. I just don't like them at all. Just my personal opinion.
  7. If Bellinger struggles it may make the Dodgers want Braun more.
  8. In celebration of Thames historical month lets take a look back at some reactions from back when we signed him. I removed people's names because I am not going to call anyone out as we all have predictions come out to be wrong. Just a reminder that baseball is a crazy game and there are productive players hiding everywhere and anywhere. You may not agree with a move, but sometimes it works out. Personal favorite:
  9. I saw that article. 75% of people voted for a contract calling for $11mil-$20mil....ANNUALLY.
  10. I feel like that is going to be a pretty crowded group vying for that award. Just a hunch, but I would predict the catcher holding his own in the Midwest league at 18 years old is probably going to get that award. Honestly he has been insanely incredible considering his stats, age, and the fact he is a catcher. If his stats are even close to what they are now he probably ends up in the Top 15. For people already in the Top 25 Orimoloye, Gatewood, and Harrison could be pretty big risers.
  11. No one is rushing anything. Would I demote Broxton if he doesn't improve in the next couple(3-4) weeks. Wouldn't trade him tough. No reason to watch Keon Broxton look like a lost puppy when we have three legit options at AAA.
  12. I doubt it takes that long to replace them if they keep hitting so poorly. You at least need to look competent.
  13. Corey Ray was the best player in the draft according to some and a lot at least had him in the Top 5. Let's not act like we selected some guy to save money. I personally am not that big of a fan of Ray and not overly excited with that pick(at the time), but then again I scout from mostly my computer....so... We will see where things go in the next year. He has barely had any ABs this year and is coming off injury....give him a chance.
  14. HAs anyone heard anything on Taylor Williams yet? I know some believe pitches per inning is an even bigger deal than overall pitches in a game. 45 in two innings is a ton for a guy just coming back from TJ. Hoping they were being careful, and he didn't have a set-back. I don't recall them mentioning anything was off...but I was watching 3 games at one time too. He was absolutely atrocious in the first inning and still shaky in the second so they probably took him out not to kill his arm.
  15. Doesn't help when you are old and have missed 2 of the last 3 seasons due to knee injury. And an atrocious offensive line, close to the worst in the league bad. Totally agree, but he didn't look all that great anyway.
  16. He's got a long way to go still. Not really. Continues what he has done the last week and he is perfectly fine.
  17. Hmm I doubt either gets sent packing in the sense of being traded. Broxton has a good shot at demotion or if they don't see him as an actual starter the 4th OFer role.
  18. Doesn't help when you are old and have missed 2 of the last 3 seasons due to knee injury.
  19. Is Keon's C-flap too big he can't even see? Sometimes(putting it nicely) he looks so stupid going down looking it is like he doesn't even know a pitch ever came.
  20. Glad I am not the only one. I don't watch the Bucks/Badgers so I didn't really understand the excitement when he came to do the Brewers games. That being said he is a lot better than when he started.
  21. I know everyone is just going to complain about Garza(like usual), but the dude fought through 100 pitches in his first start of the season. He looked good at times, but made a few mistakes. I will let him pitch a month before throwing him onto the fire.
  22. All-Brewers outfield headlines Prospect Team of the Week The latest edition of MLBPipeline.com's Prospect Team of the Week (April 17-23) is led by an all Milwaukee Brewers outfield, with Lewis Brinson, Monte Harrison and Demi Orimoloye all earning a spot. This marks the first time one team has accounted for all three outfield spots on the Team of the Week. -By Mike Rosenbaum / MLB.com | 1:42 PM ET http://m.mlb.com/news/article/226213576/pipeline-team-of-the-week-led-by-brewers-of/?topicId=27118122
  23. Like I said not trying to start some argument over this and that. Just found it interesting the D Backs ended up with two pretty darn respectable prospects for a not so great looking Gerardo Parra. Nice pickins by them.
  24. Alright April Fool's day turned into April Fool's month. How is this even possible?
