  1. Nothing like a good rally getting killed by a total scrub player. Shame he had to be the guy handed the big at-bat.
  2. Bad move...sometimes you get lucky though.
  3. And the series. Way overpitched Chapman. There was absolutely no reason to have him pitch last night. Exactly I though it was abosolutely stupid he pitched yesterday. He was way too quick to put him in and it literally might have just cost them the title. Now we shall see....
  4. Its really sad that even needs to be reviewed. Come on 2nd base ump.
  5. The strike/ball calls for the entire series should put into question. It was really bad.
  6. I will take the under whatever it is. I doubt a third time is the charm against Kluber. Indians game to lose if you ask me. Kluber plus their elite relievers should be able to shut the Cubs down.
  7. I don't think Manfred even thinks about DVRs. The people that record a game for the sole purpose to skip commercials are a needle in a haystack.
  8. Yah you can be doomed by the simplest things in football. Rodgers has a bad game? DONE. Blown coverage that leads to a TD? DONE. Miss a 30 yard field goal? DONE. If there was no luck there should be a ton of undefeated seasons going on in the NFL. Except there aren't. Why? Because you have off weeks where you just don't play as well as you should. Even the best teams have weeks where they lose when they should have won and it has little to do with coaching. Sometimes those games come in January.
  9. That is almost hard to wrap my head around. When you say 1908 it doesn't sound that long ago...but 2124? I mean...wow.
  10. Sure who wouldn't expect another Super Bowl? It just didn't come to fruition. If I was going to blame anyone it would be Capers. The problem in the playoffs usually ends up being our defense getting burned not our offense sputtering. I don't think it is a talent thing either. If you ask me if anything that blame falls on Capers. Everything has to line up at the right time to win a Super Bowl. You have to be healthy and firing on all cylinders. Sometimes that just doesn't happen. Sometimes you face a team that has everything going for them. There is luck involved.
  11. Yah not a big fan of his scouting report and it does seem very contradicting at times. I don't necessarily disagree with his "realistic role" being a back-up catcher...except for the fact he grades his offense as notably below average and his future defense as average. Who is going to get a back-up catcher job with no offense and questionable defense? Honestly I think his ceiling is higher than a 40 overall. I think his ceiling would be more like an average MLB catcher if his bat came around. He is a boom or bust guy. Either he becomes an decent catcher or never does anything at the MLB level. Not sure he could make it as a back-up catcher.
  12. I was soon regretting my post when I realized it would wake up the Davis monster in Briggs.
  13. It's called vision. Looking forward, not behind. Proven right so far, 4 years and counting. No it's basically hindsight 20/20 type thinking. They would've been in the SB two seasons ago if not for multiple horribly unlucky things happening in a row vs Seattle. Regardless, they were in the final four which means they're doing things right, it's just luck after that. Again, would you have fired Belichick in like 08-09? He hadn't won a SB in 5-6 years and had just choked in the SB with the best team ever, gotta look forward and stop living in the past. Not like it is much of a prediction to say a team won't win or make it back to the Super Bowl for awhile.
  14. That is a fantastic idea if you don't care if you watch them live. However for most it is something they prefer and even more so as older fans, erm, pass on.
  15. Arrieta can't throw strikes, loads bases, and then gets gifted with a strike call to start the next at-bat. No thanks not watching that garbage.
  16. Wait...what? Can you elaborate on what you are trying to avoid and how? I don't quite understand what exactly you want to be done.
  17. Honestly I think this team is really really good. The offensive has a ton of talent and the defense is dang good itself. The defense has gotten pressure to the QB a good portion of the year, they stuff the run, and the secondary is one of the best in recent memory when healthy. Everyone acts like McCarthy/Thompson are the problem when the 2 running backs are injured, multiple receivers are out, and 3 of our top defensive backs are injured. If this team was healthy they would be cruising and no one would be complaining right now. Honestly blaming Thompson seems ridiculous. The talent on this team is great. Seeing we always draft in the last 10 picks I would be applauding the dude. If anything I would be investigating why this team is a crippled mess every single year.
  18. Dang a back-up catcher with average defense! That has to get one excited.
  19. The mound is different and the feel in general is different. It takes more than just two pitches to get comfortable and make the mound how you want it(if need be).
  20. And yet that is still very radical. Who would even support such an idea? Are either the players or owners going to get behind that? Congrats you just shaved 20 seconds off the length of the game. Do things get ridiculous sometimes? Of course but it is impossible to say one mound visit is warranted and that one is a waste of time. How do you decide when a throw over is excessive? You can't possibly limit such things. The last thing I want to see is a pitcher give up a homer and when asked about it later he wanted a mound visit, but wan't allowed one. What if you hit your max amount of step offs and a bug flies into your eye? Do you just pitch it blind? Sometimes you just have to accept things as a part of the game.
  21. I am not shocked. He needs time in the minors and it isn't like there is a whole lot of opportunity these days in the Brewers OF anyway. When you stock pile young players you are going to be forced to let go of some that still look interesting.
  22. Yah he needs someone to teach him to chill out and be consistent. I have also noticed he tends to be prone to being late. It is extremely frustrating to watch and is probably a good reason his SO% has spiked recently. I have a hard time envisioning him being much of an MLB hitter the way he bats right now. At worst the OBP and defense should make him a starter worthy outfielder with offensive upside. I would probably peg him as something like a 2012 Carlos Gomez. 2-2.5 WAR player. At least that is what I would put the O/U at.
  23. I am guessing he doesn't like the leg kick since that is the only questionable thing with his feet.
