All I know is we got three players incredibly likely to make an impact on the MLB squad. Not some lottery ticket guys in low A-ball along with 10 Johnny Hellweg types. Stearns said he wanted to spread the talent and he did that. He has gone after lower minor guys(Diaz/Peralta) and now he picked from the top.

Behind who? Ortiz is more likely to start and has a higher ceiling than Hader. Hader is further along, but that is about it. Who is the second? Bickford? Another guy questionable to start? I'd rank them: 1. Hader 2. Bickford 3. Ortiz I think Hader has the highest ceiling. Love the strikeout potential. Fair enough can't argue with the ranking of any three. I'd put Ortiz #1 because I value his projectability to actually start and a lot like him to be a TOR guy. The other two have a high chance of relieving which scares me.

Yep. I don't think Jeffress was that valuable tbh. That k/9 # is very worrisome imo. And when it comes to late inning guys it is all K/9 for value.

Honestly I think people thought Jeffress was a lot more valuable than he really is. You know Stearns has been on the phone since last night shopping Jeffress/Lucroy by themselves right?

Players to be named always suck - but I'm happy with 2 1/2 players in Brinson and Ortiz Michael Brantley. You argument is false.

Some of you are shocked after that Indians deal even? And some of you that are complaining keep saying we got two players and we got three. We don't even know how major the third piece is!

I honestly wonder if Lucroy didn't want to go to Cleveland because he would have preferred on of the other suitors(Texas). Was it really about money or next year. Or what team he really wanted to play for? Regardless his choice, but I do wonder. -
Depends why they didn't already announce it. Do they want to see some players more or is it because they could not get that last detail out. Could be a week or months. Probably months since there is no reason to rush. Maybe one guy has TJ surgery in a month and we can make sure not to get him.

This return was 100% light, but that was what he market was. Stearns got the best trade possible and acquired two possible future all stars. Holding onto him wouldn't have helped anything.

Food for thought guys: This was our last chance to get players like Brinson/Ortiz in a trade. We can get high ceiling low minors prospects all day long. But to get a Brinson and Ortiz? We had to package 2 amazing players together.

Like I said Ortiz alone is a better offer than the Indians entire package. Put without Gallo, why Jeffress, I thought the rumor was if Gallo was to be included, a Jeffress or Smith had to be included....Well we included him! Brinson is a pretty comparable comp value wise. They said they would trade Brinson for anyone but Sale. They would have preferred Gallo a week ago.

Just because you scouted them doesn't mean you are getting them. Stearns took from the top now he won't get anything from the bottom.

Well I was hoping for more, but clearly Stearns tried to the bitter end. Rest easy knowing this was the best deal. He went and got 3 legit prospects today.
