  1. McKenry was with the cards organization at the time of the trade, but I don't know if that is an issue or not. Can't be it.
  2. Colorado is the worst. Elevation year round, HORRIBLE early season weather, and lots of cancellations. Las Vegas isn't perfect, but not horrible.
  3. Well I guess we didn't have enough back-up catchers.
  4. I propose we drop Kirk and add Tim Tebow when September hits. It would be absolutely awesome for comedy aspects and the Brewers would make wheelbarrows of money on it.
  5. If I get a solid offer for Ryan Braun I am taking it. We likely still have two non competitive seasons left in the tank. I am not building around a 34 year old injury prone Ryan Braun who will have two years left on his contract at that point. Take the prospects and pocket that money saved. He is just too big of a risk and we don't need to be wasting $20mil a year for Ryan Braun if he declines. Besides I would rather save some money and invest it into a position of need in a few years. If we have any plans of competing our outfield prospects will have to produce. That is where all our future offensive firepower is. If they flop nothing will matter in all honestly. Free up the outfield spot for someone else and then sign someone at a black hole position. Only way I'd want to keep Braun is if he can play average 1st base. If not I just don't see the reason to keep him around. By 2019 he might be a 3 WAR player and that just isn't good enough. We have prospects that can provide half that on defense alone for league minimum. We would save money and grab valuable prospects. Win-win. Don't get me wrong Ryan Braun is amazing and I'd be sad to see him go. I doubt I will ever see a better player on this team in my life time and I am not old. However building the best team for the future it is an easy choice: Trade Braun if a decent offer presents itself.
  6. 2014- Tommy John 2015- Rehab 2016- 102 innings So I imagine he won't be pitching or possibly he is getting a break before a very short stint of pitching.
  7. I don't think anyone really blamed him.
  8. I think managers have a huge effect, but when we pool them all together I don't think their performance is that big of a difference. There are possibly a couple incredible ones and possibly a few really bad ones, but I think most are pretty comparable. Counsell is nothing special and is really neutral across the board...though that may not be the worst thing to have. I don't know what Stearns plans to do with him. I personally think he will appoint his own guy and the only reason Counsell is still here is because he just started and who cares during a rebuild. Maybe Stearns has an open mind and Counsell is still managing for a job.
  9. What if you drive in a run with a hit directly before you get caught stealing? What about it? That already has nothing to do with OBP You said getting on base doesn't matter if you end up getting out by some mistake after the fact...that simply isn't true because you can advance runners, score them, etc.
  10. Craig Counsell has made a lot of weird decision in a lot of different aspects of managing, but honestly I don't think Stearns cares that much. He wasn't brought in to help win is a couple more games. every year. He was brought in to help the young guys adjust to the MLB level and watch the rebuild. I think they dump him after next year when his contract expires for someone they think can manage a winner. For now he is safe.
  11. Yup...going to make one heck of a bullpen piece someday if he can't make it as a starter.
  12. Then he gets credit for an extra base hit every time he steals a base with that logic, so Villar wins.
  13. Doubt it teams always pick up guys like Gomez. Without looking I am sure there are many teams with some kind of dumpster fire in their outfield they would love to throw Gomez out there in place of. At least with Gomez you can dream he reverts to something like his past.
  14. Gomez won't come sign here if it takes a laundry list of "ifs" to have the starting gig.
  15. Exactly there isn't any reason anyone would want him back. First off he literally provides no value to us. It's not like we can sign him and hope to trade him later on. He is going to sign a contract for the rest of the season with a contender most likely. MAYBE if Broxton wasn't hitting well now we could sign him just to attract some Gomez diehards, but to bench Broxton would be stupid. Then this offseason he still won't make any sense. Brinson will be up by July at worst leaving Gomez with no spot to play. Why would he even want that? The fact is he probably wouldn't as there just isn't room for him as a starter. Unless Gomez is ready to accept he is just a 4th OFer he won't come back.
  16. Heyman mentioned how Braun's wife is pregnant making it very unlikely he would approve a trade to anyone on his no trade list. This limiting his market to just the 6 teams. See there is/may be a good relationship between Braun and the Brewers they probably weren't eager to make him move his pregnant wife either.
  17. Is it wrong for him to not want to play football if he can't be a QB? It's his life and his choice. Really simple concept. Where did I say it was wrong? And is it possible for you to comment on anything without condescending people with differing opinions? Frankly I'm tired of it. You said it was odd. Why odd? It seems to me he wants to do what makes him happiest or wants something new.
  18. Non tender? Come on... There would probably be a good handful of teams wanting Gennett. Rickie Weeks(no offense to him. Love him) still has a job and Gennett is better. Gennett has trade value.
  19. Where? Sadly Arizona. I was hoping to see him next week, but looks like he is starting his rehab assignment in rookie ball.
  20. The platoon out in New York is probably the best for him.
  21. I don't find that surprising. It's usually what is on around noon. On another note I really don't see any issue with medal count. There is 10 variations of most sports. Diving/Cycling/Running/Gymnastics/etc. all has multiple ways to medal.

  23. That's what I figured, but wasn't sure if the Brewers mentioned anything.
