  1. Since Stearns said a decision would be made after the MiLB season the Brantley series doesn't make sense.
  2. We won't know if he has a batting stance swing issue for awhile. For some guys it works and some it doesn't. Some guys have a stance that works wonderful and all of a sudden they get to the MLB level and it doesn't work.
  3. The only problem with a Mendez theory is the fact he is 10x better than any prospect after him in the system. If it was truly Mendez why would we wait? Unless it is a list consisting of both Mendez/Gallo Mendez doesn't make a ton of sense. Leodys Taveras/Ariel Jurado/Ronald Guzman may be more realistic.
  4. Gallo was rumored to be in the deal right when it was going down. Was he sent down prior to the deal becoming official? If so I wonder if Gallo/Mendez are apart of the list. If said player is on the same level of the two we got who else could it possibly be? One can dream. I am betting Mendez...just a hunch.
  5. Yah Kirk/Boyer could be guys that get claimed and we just let walk. Could save a few pennies just letting them leave if someone wants them.
  6. Does anyone know why more teams don't just have their own affiliates. Do current owners not want to sell forcing a team to build their own park to have their own? Does MLB frown upon on it? Owners of MLB franchises don't want the added personnel? I mean I just don't get it. Feels like a way to make the MLB product better and really add some revenue.
  7. The Olympics this year are a pretty big disaster from a event planning perspective. Poop water, Zika, dead bodies in Olympic area, and Russia being allowed to play. This isn't really new though. It's usually a disaster behind the scenes. Of course the TV camera content shouldn't show any of that. So that is good.
  8. Yeah I feel for Segura on that one. Just trying to be a good guy and the play was over. The worst part is I think Arcia should have been out(?) Gennett was (what appeared to be) a step onto the field. Should have been some kind of interference on him should it not have?
  9. You can ask a girl out, take her to a nice dinner, and if she doesn't put out, then you can make a decision about whether asking her out or not was a good decision. That's a time when results orientated thinking is okay. When you put money into a stock, it was either a good or bad idea when you made the decision not after the fact. This is an excellent strategy the Brewers are deploying. Whether Brinson lives up to his potential or not is irrelevant. If they stay with this strategy, it won't be long before they do hit on a big-time, franchise-altering player. Trading away pieces of the future for guys like Jonathan Broxton & picking up retreads like Kyle Lohse was never the answer. This much is clear now. My comment has absolutely nothing to do with the strategy the Brewers are displaying. It was towards an overreaction towards Brinson's hot start in AAA. But let's not get ahead of ourselves either. I'm sure there will be times we give up prospects for players, especially as we get closer to competing. We already have up Sneed for Villar this past off season. You may be the one overreacting. I don't think anyone was serious about winning the trade already.
  10. That's great I must have missed that game. I knew everyone hated Macha because he never spoke up for the players. When a player was freaking out he just stood in the dugout corner.
  11. Puig? Umm no thanks. If you are picking up his salary you could probably have him for nothing. No space for him. Santana will be back and Brinson will be in CF before you know it.
  12. Trade beer for food. There is nothing more Wisconsin than paying with beer.
  13. Brinson starting to slump. Just 2-5 with 2 RBI and a SB.
  14. I can almost bet this move is purely hope that moving out of Brevard County will help him(maybe it will). His stats are horrible and last year wasn't all that great either. He is 23 repeating A+ for a second time with quite worse results. Adding insult to injury he can't even play defense right. I know errors aren't everything, but being on pace for a good 15+ if the season was of MLB length as an OFer is pretty brutal. I don't even understand how that is possible.
  15. Papelbon choked Harper. Fielder is the guy you're looking for. Maybe we should get Ken Macha back. Won't have to worry about him stealing bases then.
  16. Yah I know the quality isn't the greatest, but it is doable. I live in the Chicago area during the summer thus no Brewers. I don't really care for watching other MLB games, but for the price MiLB games seem like a good alternative. Thanks for the info!
  17. I really didn't wanted to use the word promoted because honestly that's misleading. Promotion sounds positive. Honestly this is probably a last ditch effort to get him going. We have a ton of outfielders and it's time to find out if he is even worth a spot. The decision to add him to the 40 man roster is also looming. We don't have room to be wasting space with a guy who is hitting like a pitcher.
  18. Braun is too nice. We need someone to punch him in the face...like Bryce Harper.
  19. What is everybody's experience with MiLB.TV? Are the Brewers affiliates on there often and what's the quality like? Thanks for any help!
  20. Picking #10 is NOT a bad thing. At least we don't know yet. Good Reason: We have all these breakout stars for the future that lead us to more wins than we originally thought. Guerra/Thornburg/Davies/Villar. I will take all that EASILY over 5 spots in the draft. Bad Reason: We have a bunch of guys in a honeymoon phase so to speak that regress next year. Helping us to a lower draft pick this year, but not actually helping the future(lose lose situation).
  21. No I don't even want Arcia up. Just pointing out what the Brewers could likely do. He had Brinson not on the 2018 roster(which he has since changed).
  22. When it comes to the 2018 payroll and spending money you can't forget about future arbitration salaries. Not 2018 arbitration, but the following years. We won't have anywhere near $70mil to spend...probably more like half that figure. Which to be fair is still a lot of money for a team like us. Regardless when the time comes some of the "holes" people are worried about will be filled or the "ace" we are lacking can be signed(though a second tier ace) through free agency. Heck maybe even a legit ace if we want. A lot of people think we can't afford one, but that really isn't accurate. If Stearns doesn't hand out a lot of extensions instead opting to trade players once they get closer to free agency we will have a steady flow of younger talent to keep payroll down. Riskier, but it is a way to build a team and unlikely to need full rebuild mode in the long run.
  23. Yah Brinson is going to be up next year at the LATEST. I wouldn't be shocked at all if he debuted this September and after surprisingly bringing up Arcia already I wouldn't be surprised if he was on the opening day roster.
